"We thank you for visiting," Quiya said, feeling the truth in her words for the first time in a long while. "It has been an honor to show the creatures to you truly,"

Ari smiled. "I will most definitely come back before the carnival ends. Thank you for your time." She continued on her way to see the other sights, but not before waving goodbye first.

Quiya smiled and bowed her head, a softness entering her eyes before she shifted, nosing the cage with the dragon hatchling in it, and purring as it spouted a flame at her in play.

Bartheyamus entered the emporium and was blissfully aghast at the sight of all the rare creatures. For a minute, he was like a child, gleefully gazing upon each cage. He soon composed himself as he turned to one named Quiya. She was a woman of beauty but what seemed more profound to the vampyre was her love for these creatures. He wondered for the first time in his unlife if he may finally acquire his idol, only living. His body shivered with delight.
"My lady," he turned to Quiya, his white eyes gazing upon her gently. "I have a very important request."
Bartheyamus wondered for a moment if he could even ask the question in all his excitement.
"Do you have a phoenix her by chance?"

Quiya bowed her jaguar head and shifted, turning back into woman form. She beckoned with a hand towards one of the large avian cages, wire enclosing it. The low keen of the Phoenix could be heard and Quiya sighed. "She is close to reincarnation, again. It must be the endless night of the land, it taxes her," She raised a hand to the lock and whispered it open, before ushering the man inside.

Trying his hardest to contain himself, the man stiffly walked into the chamber in which he was beckoned. He was in a state of disbelief! Scriptures mentioned stories of phoenixes and their sacrifices made to save mankind, he stood for what they stood for and to hear the calling of a phoenix took his breath away.
He didn't know for certain if this was a place to procure the exotic animals or if it was merely a zoo in which to admire them. Either way, he was beyond excited.

Quiya stepped closer to the middle of the cage and whistled, Phoenix descending from higher above. The bird perched nimbly on a branch of a tree that grew inside of the cage. Quiya smiled as she used the back of her hand to gently pet the phoenix. She looked back at the newcomer and moved aside, allowing room for him to approach.

A tear in his eye, Bartheyamus humbly approached the bird. He bowed before it, letting loose his tears of joy. When he felt ready, he stood before the bird, removing his white glove to reveal a tattooed hand. On his palm, the mark of the phoenix: He outstretched his palm to the bird, waiting to see if it would react to the mark.

Quiya watched as the bird cocked her head, before touching the visitor's hand. It was fine for a moment, before it screeched, bursting into flames, initiating reincarnation. The Dematsari looked over at the visitor and raised an eyebrow. "You have a connection with them?" She asked, before turning her attention back to the flames worriedly. She still did not get over it even though it had happened at least twenty times in her care, increasingly now.

Bartheyamus gave the bird a pained look as he watched it reincarnate before his eyes. An honor to watch, to be sure but he couldn't help but feel a sense of loss looking at it. If only he had more time. After all, phoenixes reincarnated every century so if what Quiya said was true, something was terribly wrong here.
"Yes," he started distantly. "Although these birds were written about in scripture and that was about how much proof we had of their existence, many steps were taken to ensure that we could instill trust in the beasts."
He turned his eyes away from the bird, becoming uncomfortable watching the bird smolder before him. He folded his hands behind his back and assumed his trademark stiff posture as he spoke:
"In our land, phoenixes not only symbolize immortality but also self-sacrifice. Stories tell of a great phoenix that carried the pains and burdens of every vampyre on its wings before being forced to reincarnate. We dubbed him "The Nocturnal Phoenix." You see, most considered us a damned race so considering that there were stories told of someone, no, something sympathizing with us naturally we were awestruck."
He turned his gaze quickly to the phoenix again before continuing.
"I'm not certain what you wish to do with it. Our marks on our hands not only signify our pact with the phoenix but also allow us to link ourselves with them. Truly though, it is an honor just to stand before such a magnificent specimen..."

"What do you mean do with it?" Quota asked, not turning her gaze from the Phoenix. "She has been with me for six hundred years...although I fear the traveling may be causing her reincarnate quickly....she should have only gone through six...maybe seven," She murmured to herself, closing her eyes as her brow creased. She hadn't thought much about it, but now a worry grew within her and made her heart thump twice, hard.

Bartheyamus shuffled around, he was visibly nervous for he felt he insulted Quiya.
"I--I suppose I was the impression your creatures were for sale."
He then noticed her uneasiness.
"What troubles you?"

"It is nothing," Quiya said quietly, brushing the ash away from the newly formed Phoenix. She did however sigh, and brush a pesky piece of hair from her face, leaving a streak of as next to one of her tattoos. "She is merely...reincarnating too quickly. I thank you for noticing it, I would do well to investigate it," She said, nodding to the visitor.

"What of my role in this? This bird is a divine deity to me. Surely you must have some idea of what I can do."

"The realms of light will cure her," Quiya said confidently. "The power of the moon is strong here..." She paused, looking over at the visitor. "Yet you are a strong being of the Sun. It is you who she would be be with," It pained her to say it, but she knew it was true. The two definitive powers in the worlds were the Sun and Moon, and she was rich in moon energy, as all females, especially Dematsari were. The Sun belonged to the males, and was dimmed in the Dematsari.
