Alcott sighed. Looks like the girl wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. His cigarette burned down to the butt and he flicked it on the ground. "So what's your name?" he asked while gently stomping on the cigarette.

Jasmine? Now where's he heard that name before? Alcott dismissed the thought and pulled out another cigarette. "It's Alcott." he muttered.

He just grunted and lit his cigarette. Well this was awkward, and judging by the awkward silence, this Jasmine girl must not be that social, or at least good at keeping conversations. Wait a minute...... "Ok, now I know you're supposed to be in class." Alcott said and glanced at his watch. He himself had a good few minutes left, but he seriously doubted anyone signing up for Dual Credit History.

Thank God he was smoking, because her silence was just bugging him now. He got in front of her and looked down at her. "What's the matter, cat got your tongue?" he asked. "You need help getting to class, or something?"

Hallelujah! She speaks! There's some hope for this half-pint after all. "Normally I'd say something, but you didn't make any sense." Alcott muttered and turned to blow out a stream of smoke. On second thought, maybe there wasn't any hope for her...

Alcott raised an eyebrow. "Eh, I wouldn't say that." he shrugged. "We haven't had a good enough conversation for me to sort my feelings." he said and put the cigarette to his lips. "By the way, I can't be the only one who puts topics up to talk about." he said. Maybe he'd teach his students in English class how to keep a conversation.

Claire was looking down at her history book when she bumped into someone. Her book clattered to the ground and she grunted. "Watch where you're going." she scolded the young man. After picking up her book, she pulled out a cigarette and realized she didn't have her lighter. "You got a light, kid?"
