"Then as a ranger you can stay with your bow or move on to the crossbow." He walked over to a weapons storage and pulled one out. "There are skills for each kind of weapon as well as your class itself. Where you want to start is up to you."

"C'mon teach! Cut the chitchat. Pretty clear what I want to begin with, don't you think?" he spoke as he raised his bow up a bit. "Crossbows aren't my thing," he spoke as he drew an arrow from his quiver and twirled it about within his hand. "So let's speed it up, will ya?"

Sighing, he put the crossbow away. "Then do Camouflage, Charged Arrow, Spiraling Shot, and Slow Shot. More your speed?"

Looking at her strangely, but noticing that no potential sparring partners were around -- except possibly his brother, but... he could not grasp the idea of actually hurting him. However, at this point, he remembered something the scroll had mentioned. "Oh!" He flicked his finger, before speaking up to his teacher. "It says I may also train on myself -- striking my own points. As straining and as painful as it is, I am willing to endure it if it means strength. To be honest, I am quite tired of being so disgustingly weak. And so -- I will not hesitate to commit painful acts -- even upon myself." And at this, he focused his fingers as he entered his special state of vision -- before beginning to strike at points he knew to be... less effective. (1/ cool

At first, it made him flinch. It even made him feel pain in not only his body but even his fingers -- striking at his chest, as it was hardened and not... cushioned, was a little rough for them. But eventually, he managed to ignore the pain -- as was a berzerker's virtue. It... hurt a little, but he would rather inflict this pain upon himself than on his brother. However, he wouldn't really mind striking a few hits on the chi points within Vincent! Unfortunately however, he didn't have such a luxury; Vincent was apparently out-of-commission. He'd been standing there like a lump for who knows how long. (2/ cool

Striking at himself, slowly moving to painful points as he developed a certain style in his fingers, he struck at one fiercely before almost immediately withdrawing and striking the next. He made sure to go perhaps a little bit easy on himself, but that did not stop him from nearly paralyzing certain parts of his body, making them feel almost tightened, though the feelings went away over time. (3/ cool

Progress slowly building up as he developed an almost... resistance in his fingers, he let out a few smiles even through all of the aching pain. He was breathing heavily at this point -- and the bruises along his chest were visible, as he had taken off his coat mid-way through this training. He kept telling himself it would be worth it, and it was, but the pain he felt at some points was almost unbearable. To be honest, almost his entire body felt out-of-commission, but he continued to push himself, hoping, however foolishly, for more. (4/ cool

Not even a few minutes alone, far from all others, felt like enough for him. The pain was almost... unending. It was almost endearing to see how eagerly he inflicted pain upon himself, if only to gain the chance to inflict it upon others. "When I look upon this pain I'm bringing myself... when I look upon the struggle... I am instantly re-energized solely by my own despair. If there is a chance, even a small one, that this pain may be mutual -- that it may be given and taken by my enemies, whoever they may be, then I will not falter within this goal -- regardless of how futile it may become. I do not want your help right now, brother. I want your understanding of why I do this. Do not help me. Do not ask someone to give me their assistance. I do what I must, and so shall you." Perhaps he was wrong in thinking Sky may have cared, but he wanted him to understand why he was acting as he was. And if anyone were to "save" him, then they would only be granted anger and spite. (5/ cool

And finally, the pain showed another step of progress. His fingers no longer felt pain -- it was just his own body, but even that began to dim. It was no longer about resistance or will -- it was about how long his own body held before it gave in. And soon, it would. It would give in -- and he would fall. It was only a question if he could finish before that time. And he believed, even if incorrectly, that he could. And more than that, he believed that he would. (6/ cool

"Oh come on brother, can you at least be a little eloquent? He's giving us his time. And at least your training doesn't involve beating the s**t out of yourself for an hour." He laughed, though if only for a moment, before resuming in his agonizing training. It was okay though. He understood the necessity. And soon, the necessity would disappear to hurt himself, and he could continue to do things without self-sacrifice in mind. Only benefit, only gain, only power. With no repercussions. (7/ cool

And finally, he knew himself to be done. At this point, he leaned against the wall, and allowed his body to drag itself downwards. His energy was gone. But his mind was still in tact. And his body still begged for more power -- even through the agony. "...let's continue." (8/ cool

Walking over to Hawk, the teacher pulled out a canteen of water for him. "Here. Rest a moment, then move on to Potty Break. It's the last skill you can learn in Dim Mak unless you want your only C rank for now to be a Dim Mak skill."

"I..." Taking the bottle of water with an exhausted smile upon his face, he nodded his head at the gesture, though immediately replied to his teacher's suggestion. "I would like to learn limb immobility... please. As wonderful as it sounds to make people pee themselves -- literally -- I don't think public embarrassment is as battle-efficient as actual paralyzation. I know it may be my only C ranked skill... but I think it will be worth it. If I've learned anything from the pain I just inflicted upon myself, it would take the heart of a lion to resist something like that with actual force and concentration behind it. To be honest, I was going easy on myself. Something I will not do for the enemy." He grasped the canteen of water as he practically chugged it down his throat, though the refreshing feeling could hardly cover the piercing agony within him. It did help a little though, and he did feel gratitude for the man, even if the act was simply one of practical means.

"Alright, Hawk. Go ahead and move on with Limb Immobility. Then we'll get you and your brother working on a couple Gemini skills before I give you a novice test." He smiled to the boy before looking over to the twin.

"Fair enough." Moving slowly from the crowd upon his nearly broken body, he began to realize that there was no real option for him to train upon. And then, an idea struck. One that involved rest for him now, and action for him later. "I have an idea. As such a skill would require for me to actually be facing someone, how about I learn it during my novice test? I believe with both me and my brother I'd be ready and safe to learn the same time I am battling -- plus, I feel I'm strong enough for the advancement, anyway. Once we learn our racial abilities, we'll be set, eh?"

The teacher mulled over his proposition. Nodding, he said, "Once you and your brother learn your racial skills, we will move into your test. I will give you the details at that time."

Sky looked around, ignoring Hawk's comment. How in the hell was he supposed to get material to camouflage himself? The only material which he could find was the long carpet that ran through the hall. A devious grin then appeared on his face. He took the tip of the arrow and stabbed into the carpet. He cut off a long section of the rug. Sky then began to channel his energy before lifting up the rug and placing it on himself. "Not much of an outfit," he said to himself before peeling of the rug.{{1/1}}

He then moved onto the next technique which was named. It was known as Charged Arrow, or something like that. He had heard of the technique before and knew it could not have been that hard at all.{{1/4}} Sky picked up the arrow from the ground which he had used to cut the rug. He twirled it within his hand a bit. He then stopped and gripped it tight.{{2/4}} He began to concentrate onto the tip of the arrow. This technique was supposed to make the arrowhead sharp enough to be capable of piercing iron. He knew this wall all done by filling it with his own energy.{{3/4}} Sky began to channel his deep blue energy into the tip of the arrow. He could feel the energy within himself slowly drain as it transferred from his body to the shaft of the arrow. He focused more closely on placing that energy towards the tip of the arrow. Once he had he strung the arrow onto the bow and pulled back on the string. Without hesitation he fired the arrow through the concrete wall.{{4/4}}

Sky let out a long whistle as he watched his arrow soar through the wall. "Well I'll be damned," he spoke with a small amount of excitement in his voice. If he could do that he felt confident enough in himself already. Now he just had to learn more.{{1/4}} The next technique which his teacher wanted him to learn was the Spiraling Shot. It seemed liked it'd be quite an interesting technique. Sky just wasn't so sure as to how easy it'd be.{{2/4}} He walked over to the wall which his other arrow had pierced in hopes of finding it. Sky sighed when he couldn't. He drew another arrow and placed it upon the string of the bow and pulled back once again.{{3/4}} Sky began to focus his energy into the feathers of the arrow. Apparently it was what would cause the arrow to spin like a corkscrew. This corkscrew spin would deliver a much more vicious attack then a normal arrow would. He looked around the place for a possible target. He spotted a practice dummy and let the arrow soar.{{4/4}}

Sky was quite amazed by the damage inflicted on the dummy by the arrow. He walked over to the dummy which he had just shot and retrieved his arrow. It was time that he had gotten to learning the next technique which he needed to learn.{{1/4}} The last technique the teacher had told him to do was the Slow Shot. It was a rather odd technique in Sky's eyes. The technique threw off the opponent but at the same time it could be easily avoidable.{{2/4}} This, however, did not stop Sky from wanting to learn it. He placed the arrow which he was holding back onto the bow. He walked away from the dummy and positioned himself a few feet back.{{3/4}} Sky began to fill the arrow with trace amounts of energy. He then shot the arrow through the air. The arrow flew like any normal one but suddenly halved in speed when it came within a foot of the dummy. Then, without warning, the arrow resumed it's full speed and shot into the dummy.{{4/4}}

Sky went over and grabbed is arrow to place it back within his quiver. He then turned to the teacher. "Anything else?"

Only nodding in response to his teacher, he couldn't help but laugh almost outrageously at his brother. "HAHA! You look like a dead goat. Never use that disguise again. Please. For both of our mental states." He was kind of curious as to what test the teacher had prepared for them, but really, he didn't bother asking. He just wanted to gain the power -- with whatever means he had. And if it was dangerous, perhaps even carrying risk of death, then so it would be.

"Since it's glaringly obvious you are Gemini, I want you to learn Safety Line and Whip It before I give you the details of your test." He couldn't help but smile a little from Sky wearing the carpet to learn his skill. But it would teach him to be a bit less... obnoxious.

"So safety line is like this..." As he spoke, a slight grin overcame the curves of his lips. He grabbed Sky's arm, before tugging him over viciously -- and letting go. The other boy would be unable to stop himself from nearly falling over, if not being plunged into the ground. As he stood over his brother, who would began to fall, his smirk became a cold glare. For some, it would seem almost heartless what he just did -- and he himself could not grasp why he did it. "Whoops." The fact of the matter was, whenever he touched Sky -- his strength heightened substantially. Within only a short moment he managed to lift the boy before immediately letting him go. The force of the throw was intense -- and possibly even painful for his brother, if he could not hold his balance. (1/1)

Sky smacked into the solid ground with a heavy thump. He looked up at his brother's fast and tears began to build. "T-that hurt you b*****d! he spoke as he got up from the ground slowly. He took a step and attempted to throw a right straight at his brother but stopped halfway. He brought back his fist and crossed his arms in a pout as he looked the other way. He didn't want to let Hawk know what he did hurt enough that he had teared up.

"Sad, brother?" The boy asked, as he tilted his head to the side, witnessing the boy's bruised face -- along with the tears flowing from it. "I can see whatever is inside of your mind. Pain -- sadness. Don't think to hide this from me -- for you and I both know it bears no point. Sorry, brother. But it looks like I've proven to all present -- that behind your egotistical jests, you're still the child you were all those years ago. Now, enough about me and you -- and enough of this drama. Power is what we are here for. It is what we have always been seeking. Let's just learn the next damn skill and be done with this. It's... whip it. Whatever. Here, I'll be the one you'll be launching. Perfect opportunity to get me back, isn't it?" He stepped closer to the other half, and kept close to him -- his back pressing against Sky's chest. "You'll have enough strength -- I know our boost in power when touching is mutual. Come on, Sky. Take the lead." (1/4)
