"Heavens sake..." he muttered and dragged the whole blanket with him, it nearly toppled the drinks, ok it did topple one but it didn't land on the food so he called no fowl on that one.
After though he rummaged in his bag and retrieved... a small pair of binoculars. "Otherwise... I know the intro pretty well, it's just going to scroll faster than I can say it." He said shoving them lightly against Ever's arm.

He caught the binoculars and Zink both, drawing the little general in against his side as he squinted down at the text. It was a loose grab, at least, his arm draped around Zink's shoulders and his body just a bit crooked. Affectionate in a distracted sort of way. This was what people did at movies, right?
Other than that, though, Ilmenite didn't reply to the statement or the faint teasing or Zink's frustration. He just grinned and watched.

He made a small huff sound though he didn't pull away, instead he more or less made himself comfortable, except for the occasional glance at the tape player. The second tape ended up just a few seconds faster than the lips on the distant screen, but it was almost funny if you got down to it ... then he was back in 'reach' should Ever care to put his arm back over the escapee.
It was only the first of the trilogy, leaving more questions than answers and two potential more meetings about classic starwars, perhaps oneday they would be something better than 'rooftop' viewings.

He barely moved until the movie came to a close, credits rolling -- and a bit past that, even. When he finally stirred, it was to find Zink asleep against him, head down and mouth hanging just a little bit open. Ilmenite made a soft sound and considered, debating for a moment. Then he shook the young man, just gently, and tipped his head down to steal a half-asleep kiss.
In uniform. This was consorting. Unprofessional. Too bad.
"...you okay? Want to do some work?" His eyebrows raised, something meaningful behind his expression. Ilmenite had an idea.

Zink started at the shake, gentle though it was you just didn't fall asleep in uniform, fortunately it wasn't a violent jerk or he might have split Ilmenite's lip somehow. As it was, the kiss was survivable if confused for a moment and followed by a deep blush that didn't hide well even after his mask was jerked back into place, it sort of hovered at the top of it like a bright red 'killroy was here'.
"I'm good... sorry... term papers were... due and..." he waved a hand as though dismissing the idea that he'd nodded off... or trying to pretend he'd meant to... "What are you thinking?" he asked arching an interested eyebrow, more than happy to change the subject

Zink was gloriously pink. Ilmenite grinned at him, drawing his arm back -- and wincing just a little as he did. He'd sat like that too long, and three of his fingers were a hundred percent numb, at this point. He worked them together, trying to get rid of the last of the tingles, and polished off some soda. It'd keep him awake.
"...well. It's a drive in movie, right?" He licked his lips, screwing the lid back onto the bottle and peering down at the mess of cars below, his eyebrows raised.
"I imagine there are some distracted young couples in at least some of them, and since we're here, and we're in uniform and they've already enjoyed the movie..." Zink was bright. He could figure out where Ilmenite was going with this.

A pause while the words filtered home through the half haze of sleep that had crept in, followed by the sharp bark of a laugh quickly stifled. "...I think that's brilliant." He said with a grin, shaped with shadows and light edges by the movie screen beneath the thick fabric.
"I think that is a most -excellent- idea. That's more fun than making people pass out in gym classes and fitness programs." He chuckled. (which also explained another city wide epidemic, though it was less likely that Ever had seen the papers to know that that one existed)
He rubbed the side of his neck with a grimace, the sharp twist of pain from having fallen asleep in such odd conditions was going to stick with him for a while. He stretched, trying to make light of it...

As Zink fumbled against the ache in his neck, Ilmenite wrapped hands in easily around the young man's waist to hoist him onto his feet. In uniform, it was effortless to push him up to stand -- and gentlemanly. His own fumbling shift, pushing himself upward, was much less elegant. He huffed out a breath.
"Unless you want to take me with you, we should probably go down the long way." He gestured back toward the fire escape, shoulders rolling to work out his own kinks, and then started in that direction.
"Stuff should be safe if we leave it up here." He just paused to grab one last cupcake.

mad Zink gave an amused smile and waited till Ilmenite finished his cup cake before offering a hand of his own, palm up. "ready when you are Ridley"
He took them both to ground level though it left him breathing harder and needing to pause a moment before he nodded to go onward.

What would have happened if they hadn't waited? Would the cupcake have come with them? Would it have been left, half-chewed, behind? Ilmenite's expression was blank, considering this, as Zink caught his breath. He kind of wanted to experiment but -- that was a terrible idea, really. He'd read Harry Potter. Splinching sounded unpleasant.
"...Um." He blinked his eyes back into focus, shrugging at Zac. "You want me to pick one, or will you? Or are we doing more than one...?"

He flicked at some imagined spot of dust on his sleeve as he tried to cover the moment of weakness with, well... a sort of calm cool collection that didn't really work.
"You first..." He grinned looking amused. "I do have an unfair advantage in the number of people I can target in a single go." He shrugged. "Though you should also practice doing it without touching them now that you're captain."

That got a faint noise, considering, because -- well. Ilmenite obviously hadn't even noticed that was an option. Miraculously, though, he didn't ask Zink to explain. He could try it, and if he failed, then he could go for help. Better to have at least gone for it on his own first...
He eased forward quietly, creeping through the lines of cars until he found one near the edge, quiet. Just one peek and then he turned his back, raising an eyebrow at Zink and being very good. He didn't watch at all. Just slowly worked on draining a well-distracted couple. His methods were simple: imagine the current flowing out of them, breath between parted lips. Ilmenite wondered absently if other people did the same.
This was a weird date.

Work it did... the energy from the ...coupling couple gathered for him much the same as though it would have if he touched them. It was inconspicuous save for the need to concentrate, and effective.
"Just imagine what you could do inside a crowded bar room." Zink said after the last of the energy ceased to flow and the energy pearls were left in your hand.
He looked contemplative... "Shame...we don't have the funding to... no, never mind." He shook his head and waved his hand. "Shall I?" He offered waving his hand towards an small group of cars.

"Are you going to be a showoff and make me look bad?" He pulled a little face, turning the pearls around in one hand [almost dropping them, but at least he prevented that and mostly covered up the fumble]. Instead of ******** around more, Ilmenite dropped them into his shorts pocket and shrugged a little at Zink.
A pause. A grin. A wiggle of his eyebrows. "Find a good one, Zink. And I dare you to look in the window first."

"...Define a 'good one'' he countered, but didn't bother to deny that he VERY much had intended to be a show off. Still he paused, holding up his hand and tilting his chin up to listen. Somewhere, there was a squeak, a thump... he moved though the rows of cars with a half scowl, half bemused look.
He suspected he'd found the 'good' kind of car when he saw a tangle of limbs on the back seat through the steamed windows.
He glanced back at Ilmenite took a deep 'long suffering' kind of sigh, though there was a smirk on his face, this one would be amazing to leave for finding while they 'slept it off' ..
He rapped sharply on the window and was rewarded with a sharp gasp and a half mumble of 'it's the cops!!' A hand swept over the inside of the window to clear the fog as one person within got curious, and he rewarded them with a little fingertip wave before turning his hand palm up and starting to drain them, their expressions went from 'shock' to a sort of dim confusion before they fell back into what had to be an uncomfortable tangle of half-dressed.
"Good enough?" He asked rolling the precious rewards around his palm carefully.
