RsnblFaith I am sorry and I know this is derailing but you seem to be misunderstanding the use of an analogy ^^", which is merely to make a correlation within an idea, or to make an idea more easily understood by putting it into a different form. So technically there is not 'false' analogy since I never made the claim that magnets were humans but that magnets= similarities and dissimilarities and how to better understand the correlation between the idea. =P You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep...
No, I am well aware of the function of an analogy. But an analogy should not be used to make an argument's case, an analogy should be used to describe the correlation between two sets of things if the person you're talking to needs clarification.
True analogy: Just as a caterpillar grows out of its cocoon, so must we grow out of our comfort zone.
False analogy: As it is necessary to hit nails on the head in order to make them work, the same must be done with employees.
While caterpillars are not the same as people, the correlation is easily more provable than with the second example, and with the magnet/relationship analogy. Except in selective observations, there isn't a way to prove opposites attract in human beings. Therefore, it is automatically a false analogy, and used to clarify rather than to argue- assuming the listener has already bought the idea that opposite humans attract.
...because reality is finally better than your dreams...

...because reality is finally better than your dreams... Haha =D! I like you. Your reply was quite fun to read! And I agree that opposites in humans don't normally attract, but in certain correlations it does, for instance, male and female attraction. Negative and Positive. (which is negative and which is positive I will not say, or probably couldn't) And then depending on their beliefs and thoughts, and so on depends on how close they become, the more similar the better. Magnetic. (I put the parts to help explain my analogy in bold)

Well, there you have it. If the correlation isn't as similar as possible to the other correlation, then it can't be a true analogy. What you are saying is:
Humans attract when they are opposite of each other, sometimes. Magnets attract when they are opposite of each other all the time.
...because reality is finally better than your dreams...

...because reality is finally better than your dreams... =p Exactly because humans have something called freewill, and the ability to chose. Magnets do not. This is why when you try and correlate non-conscience materials like a magnet to something conscience like a Human being, you cannot get it exact I will not deny this. Though the analogy itself is something that can be exact if humans followed The Law of Human Nature(The Law of Nature or Morality). But that's different debate entirely.
