Jove sighed, letting his head fall against Seiji's shoulder. The older boil had no body warmth or pulse to speak of, not like the pup's other friends, but he was reassured by his presence anyway. Ever since the boat ride he knew Seiji would be strong and sturdy, the sort of person he could lean on when nobody else was around to see. The soft laugh was as comforting as a heartbeat.
The pup yawned wide as Seiji won the game, but he didn't settle in for sleeping. He wasn't even going to close his eyes. He would just let his friend play until the sun came up, and if the older boil wanted to sleep, Jove would resume the game himself. Even without so much as a nap he would be okay, as long as he had someone to spend the long night next to.
