I don't think they should have one even one award. American Idiot sucks. You all say that, constantly, every day. So now, why do you think they deserve awards for an album that you hate?

I was actually one of the luckiest people and I got to /go/ to the grammy's.

nothing could compare. The other artists were very good, but when green day slammed on stage, they totally rocked everyone. People were all pumped up for the rest of the evening.

I think American Idiot is there best album, but it's not my favorite. It did desirve the nominations, and the award, even more award as well, but I agree. They both deserved to win, but Ray beat out Green Day because 1) He's dead. He can't get anymore awards, and the sympathy factor. 2) He put together an amazingly produced, flawless album. But still, I wanted Green Day to win, I was blown away by their completly flawless effort on this album, but they have more chances of getting awards in the future, and if they come up with something better than American Idiot, then they deffinatly will.
Yeah, so I saw the grammys over-seas (Kuwait) and I hot so hyped because they were performing an I knew they just had to winat least 1 award. I saw them accept the award, and Billie Joe sing for that Tsunami benifit song, and I got really excited and everything waiting for the Green Day performance and I was waiting and waiting. The only reason I watched the grammys in the first place was to see them. Finally they announced Album of the Year, and i was like ok, where are they? and I thought oh they'll come after this, but they didn't they just put the credits with a 1sec clip of their performance in it. S after all that I didn't see the so-called" performance! They cut it out!! I went to the GDA site but I couldn't watch it...some odd reason...and now I'm still incredibly pissed. Does anyone have any other links so I could watch it?
