Landry was completely baffled by Chrono's words, but when he brought up Phoenixfire, his most scorned victim, it caught his attention. Mike knew she had lived, she had come back and left his own brand permanently burned into his pectoral, but why was Chrono bringing this up now after all this time?
Then something hit him: he had lost his focus and lost track of Brody. He turned around and was instantly folded up like an accordian by the devestating Spear.

Without trying to think about how this was turning out, Brody scrambled to hook one of Mike's legs, hoping to pick up the win.

Chrono smirked devilishly as his words seemed to strike a cord with Landry. "I'm sure you're wondering what I'm talking about... In due time Michael.. In due time..."
One of the backstage attendants handed Chrono something wrapped up in a blanket. Chrono looked down at it and smiled. "Hello little one, do you know you have your mothers eyes?" Chrono said as he then looked at Landry.
"In due time..."

"1...2...3!"
Be it the Spear from the massive man, or the distraction from Chrono, or some combination of the two, Landry was unable to bring a shoulder up before the fatal three. It was an utter shock, as he had been dominating the entirety of the match since the get-go. But now Brody was standing tall, and on his way to the main event as Number One Contender.
But Landry was distraught. He was so determined on picking up this win and getting that WWF Title match he's been searching for for so long, but if it wasn't him...it might as well be Brody. Landry stood up, holding his ribs and offered his hand to Brody in congratulations.
"You did what you had to do. It's what i've been trying to teach you the whole time. Good job."
Though he wanted to focus on Brody, Chrono kept demanding his attention. Was that a baby? Who was the mother? What the hell was going on?

Brody grabbed Landry's hand and gave it a half-hearted shake. He didn't like the way it had ended, but it was still a W next to his name in the books. He'd get over it in time for his title match, that was certain. Giving Mike a slight grin and a nod, he pulled his hand free and exited the ring. Figuring he'd take a shot at Chrono if he took the ramp, he hopped the barricade and took the stairs through the crowd, leaving the arena through one of the doors in the stands.

Landry applauded as Brody left, but he remained in the ring. He asked the ringside attendent for a microphone.
"Okay Chrono, you had your little fun. Stealing the spotlight and costing me the match, all that good stuff. Do me a favor: jump off your diatribe and tell me why you're REALLY here!"

"You wanna know why I'm here? I told you the past is catching up to you Michael, and if you thought what Phoenixfire did to you before was bad.."
Chrono said as rocked the child in his arms

To say Phoenixfire had been waiting for this moment would have been true on both sides of the coin. She yearned for justice for in her heart; the grievous debt left by the events on the night of her murder cried from her soul to be paid but somewhere within her, Phoenixfire was anxious and afraid. This was very uncharacteristic of the Dark Phoenixfire but not a problem would arise from such feelings if not a soul knew of them. Phoenix watched from her perch on one of the couches across her locker room with an infant that could be no more than a few months old if even that cradled in her arms, intently watching the spectacle before her as it was caught on camera. She and Chrono had been looking for the best way to exact revenge on the man that had been the cause of her death and this was the best way in her mind's eye to get to a man that seemed to be virtually untouchable. Phoenix had been waiting with bated breath for most of the evening and that tension had only grown as Landry's match progressed.
When her moment came, Phoenix handed the infant off to an attendant who in turn handed the babe to the only man who would ever come close to being a father to her son. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly before she grasped at a manila folder before silently slipping out of the room, expressly forbidding the cameras to follow. Phoenixfire sauntered with determination toward the curtains that separated her from ringside, parting them enough to watch for Landry as he viewed the camera feed of Chrono. She knew that entering so boldly would detract his attention from where she needed it the most which meant her only option was to hastily find her way through the crowd to ringside, trying her best to be unnoticed along the way. Phoenix would stash the folder and its contents then wait until all was clear before she could slip her frame across the barrier and poised herself for attack.

"I'm done with your stupid riddles Chrono! I've paid for my sins! You've never allowed yourself to be held accountable for yours! My business with Phoenixfire is over! She gave me my receipt, and it's one I have to carry the rest of my life! So what in the hell could she possibly want now? And why are you speaking for her?"

"The thing is Landry, I don't need to be held accountable for MY sins, for I don't feel sorry for my victims, I honor them..."
Chrono said as he took off his coat followed by his shirt revealing a body filled with scars, in addition to the metal plate on his shoulder from when Jed put a bullet in it.
"Each one of these scars represents someone I put down, I remember every match with each and everyone of them. Do you think that you getting people to beat you up and having her brand you justifies forgiveness?
But you're right, your business with Phoenixfire is indeed over, but I never said anything about Phoenixfire did I? As for who I'm talking about and why I'm speaking for her...
Why don't you ask her yourself..?"
Chrono smirked as he continued rocking the child.

Phoenixfire had lowered herself over the barrier by the time Landry had begun to speak again. She made a mental note to herself to thank him for the brilliance of this distraction once she returned to what could pass for her family backstage but found more pressing matters required her attention like stealthily lifting herself over the apron and moving with catlike reflexes until her body was immediately in Landry's shadow. Phoenix hid until Chrono quipped to Landry to ask her himself, lifting herself on her toes to a height that she could daintily tap her ex-lover on the shoulder. His attention would soon shift and would leave her with little to no time to capture him in the Cookie Cutter (uppercut followed by a stunner).

Landry was about to fire back, something about the fans deciding whether or not he was forgiven, but what Chrono said stuck with him. Then he felt the tap on his shoulder and he sighed, knowing who had to be on the other side.
Landry turned around and stared into Phoenixfire's eyes with a dissapointed look. He wouldn't have time to speak, as his jaw was jacked by the uppercut, then once again by the stunner which laid him out in the middle of the ring.

Phoenixfire's soul soared with twisted delight once she had successfully lay Landry out in the middle of the ring with the Cookie Cutter. She got back to her feet and gazed down below at the man she once held a lofty view of in her days as his mentee. However, those days had long passed. Long gone were the days that she found herself in one of the most secure places of her career to soon find the rug snatched out from under her before going on to lose her life at her ex-lover's hands. The emotions flooded her senses enough to bring a gentle stream of tears to her eyes but Phoenix could not allow them to stay for long. Her purpose was concrete and she must remain unwavering in her focus to have the effect she so desired. Phoenixfire slipped back out of the ring and to the barrier that she stashed the manilla folder behind, pausing to open it long enough to ensure the document still remained. She quickly made her way back to Landry's side, firmly planting her size 7 heels in his side before she waited to lay the folder on his chest and made her exit to the ramp. This folder held no ordinary document but held an official State of Alaska birth certificate bearing the information of the child that Chrono cradled before the whole federation on camera: Matthias Elijah Augustine, son of the lady known as Phoenixfire- and of Evan Michael Landry.

"As I said your business with Phoenixfire is over, however the woman that just knocked you out isn't Phoenixfire. I don't know if you can hear me Landry, but if you can't, I'm sure you'll catch it on the replay...
This woman has made it her personal mission to make you life hell, and I'll see to it that she gets it... My dear if you could be so kind as give young Michael the papers, and we'll carry out the rest our business next week..."
Chrono said as he placed the child'shead on his shoulder, and slowly patted it. As he smiled at the woman's actions.
"Why don't you come Landry, I'm sure once you see what's inside the contents of the folder you'll... Have no choice.." Chrono said smiling as he then laughed and waited for the woman to get to the ramp so they could leave together.

Landry hears it all, but can't make sense of it as his head was spinning. He gets kicked in the ribs and it snaps him back into concsiousness. He's finally able to sit up once Phoenixfire has left the ring and she had left the papers on his chest.
He opens the folders, and he has to re-read them over and over in order to fully comprehend what he was reading, and to make sure he wasn't seeing things. But no...that was his name on that birth certificate. Right next to Athena's.
Landry looked up to Athena, asking him with his eyes if it was true, but something deep down in his heart told him it was...and then everything changed for him at that moment.
