"We'll probably have to give it an hour or so before everyone's here." He'd made sure they were more on the early side so they could get a table before everyone else snagged one. He didn't want to have to sit with people who didn't like him because those were the only tables left. Not that there were many of those people he'd admit to existing in public but whatever. Scouting out the layout he picked what looked like a good spot and lead Addie over to a so far empty table. "Given that there's free food and i heard they were actually getting someone good to cater? Eating first might not be a bad idea."

He smirked as he let go of her arm so he could pull out a chair for her. He could at least be a gentleman, or pretend to be one, while they were there. "Do you have slick dance moves? And can you even do them in those shoes?" He looked down like he could actually see her shoes under the dress. "Because i -know- even walking around in heels like that isn't the easiest of things"

It was almost a shame he couldn't have work the outfit that meant he'd learned heels sucked to prom. It would have looked amazing ... and probably have gotten him killed.

Lorelei hadn't put much effort into finding a date, on one hand she supposed it was better off that she hadn't. Dating seemed like it would be a fickle thing to deal with on top of being a negaverse senshi. Though she had pondered trying to find a date among their ranks and quickly dismissed it. The only two boys she actually knew face to face where pretty much out of the question. Zac would have probably have stared at her for a while before giving a blunt and final no, and Demy, yeah her captain was caring and all but she would have preferred a proper date rather then the crazed antics the raver boy would get into.

So with no friends at her side Lorelei stepped into the dance wearing a dress that she figured would do well with her eyes.

Slowly those red orbs would settle on Zac among a few others in the crowd, a date? No, but at least a friend to talk to during the dance.

"With out the what now Zac?" She had wandered over just as he started to notice Aree tilting her head. "I'd hope you mean someone other then me otherwise I'm going to feel hurt, you might just send a girl home crying on prom night." All of it was said with a light smile on her face, hopefully Zac wouldn't grump too much at her.

Glancing around the group Zac was with she nodded to Ever and Sabine, "I don't think I've had a chance to meet you both, Lorelei, a pleasure to meet some of Zac's friends ."

He ran his fingers back through his hair as he stepped through the doors, holding his arm back for Toki so that she could join him. He had to admit that she cleaned up rather nicely when she wasn't being so wicked, not to mention when she wasn't in uniform. It had been pleasant seeing her, catching her just enough off guard with the flowers that the ride over had been relatively quiet.

He was ready to play the part of the arm candy now, at the very least, waiting for her to take his arm so that she could parade him around wherever she'd liked. He was keeping his eyes out, though, having been told to do so... He knew there was at least one familiar face out there -somewhere- that night.

Eventually the teal haired fellow and his "date" for the evening had entered. Howl had been observant enough to notice that a lad with dark hair that covered his ears had his eye on the pair. He couldn't help but wonder for a brief moment if the hair being over his ears impaired the boy's hearing at all. However, there was something about the boy's stance, perhaps even his posture that came across as nearly protective.

By the time Howl and Aurora were in the building, he had managed to get the full story from the pale haired girl. Apparently the boy's name was Azzo Crowley and one of Miss Namid's friends. Now was not the appropriate time for him to ask more about the subject, but perhaps later he could press the subject forward a bit more.

As he continued to escort the girl along, the pair passed a few familiar faces in the crowd. He saw some faces that he had not seen but one or two times, such as Miss Reese and Miss McMahon. He saw other faces he recognized from other formal events, such as Miss Novette-Naim and Miss Chamberlain. All of them looked rather lovely. He did allow one of his brows to raise slightly higher than he probably should have when he saw Miss Tatiana in what seemed like the attire more appropriate for a boy. However, it was not his place to lecture or judge. He just couldn't help but think that it was definitely unique.

"Come, Miss Namid, I think I see a table where we may sit." He approached a nearby table and allow his arm to unwrap from hers. As he was raised to do, he pulled out the chair so the lady might have her seat first. When she sat down, he carefully nudged the chair closer to the table before going to his own seat close by.

(OOC Note: I will be away this weekend, so I won't be able to post again until Sunday. Just setting the couple off to the side until then <3 )

Tabitha hoped she wasn't late! She'd been fretting over her own decisions the entire car ride to the hotel, no doubt annoying her grandfather who just didn't understand. But he was generous and didn't comment on it. Was she too plain? Maybe she should have looked for more accessories. Should she have put her hair up? Tried to curl it tighter? Dye it? Should she have looked for a more glamorous dress? But she liked this dress, she was comfortable with this style! And it'd been a good price. And it was pretty. She sighed quietly to herself to calm her nerves, clenching and relaxing her hands a few times. This was silly! It was just prom! A huge, huge social gathering and she was sure to see people she knew there! Okay, now it was exciting. Tabitha grinned as they pulled up to the hotel, thanking her grandfather and letting him know she'd call him when she was ready to come home before giving him a kiss on the cheek, grabbing her small clutch purse and climbing out to head inside.

Wow! There were already so many people here! And..and it was so gorgeous! Tabitha made a noise of awe and appreciation as she walked in through the lobby, eyes wide and jaw dropped as she looked around at everything she could see. She'd never been in such a fancy hotel before!

..Was that Justin Bieber? Tabitha made a slight face at that but otherwise didn't seem to mind it terribly, paying less attention to the music and more attention to the people. They were so gorgeous! Those girls' dresses! So prettyyy! The girl giggled delightedly and clapped her hands with excitement, completely forgetting the minor insecurities she'd had about her own choice of attire tonight and stepping further into the large room.

A black taxi pulled up to the front of the hotel. It still said Destiny Cabs in gaudy lettering along the side but as far as the girl about to open the car door felt it was better than walking. She would rather be found dead in some kind of embarrassing fashion then walk to prom. It was bad enough she didn't have a date-- But again, as far as she was concerned it was better than not at all.

Stepping out of the car after a few seconds double checking her makeup, hair, and possible instances of wardrobe malfunction(she was not going to pull a Paris Hilton thank you) she was handing over cash for her fare and standing up straight. Scanning to see the turnout of other cars so far Genevieve wanted to be sure she wasn't too late. Fashionably late was always acceptable but there was always a time stamp on such things. As far as could tell she was right "on time". Truth be told- she felt like a god damned princess. Her hair was simple but perfect, her dress and accessories were flirtily fitting, and her shoes were pure magic.

Maybe it wasn't as "magical" as it was supposed to be as most prom goers didn't use stolen drug and prostitution money to fund their outfits, but what others didn't know looked fabulous. Grinning and smoothing down her dress she clutched her small handbag against her stomach and finally walked towards the hotel doors. It was then a male figure leaning against the wall caught her attention. It was that boy... She'd never even wanted his name so she didn't know what to call him, but it was the boy that had actually saved her from a rather nasty situation with a senshi. Fidgeting a bit she made her way over to him. He wouldn't know her and that was perfect- A way to thank him that didn't result in him running away or trying to kill her.

Perfect.

"Please tell me that isn't Justin Bieber I hear coming from the dance hall," she leaned against the wall next to Azzo and grimaced. "His only good song is Baby. I mean really."

Bo had asked pretty much every dateless female friend of his to be his prom date. Serenade and Adira had gotten the first invites, but from there, it had spiraled out of control: the lady in the grocery store, the neighbor across the hall, the friend who had been broken up with recently. Bo really didn't understand seriousness or romance. He just liked asking all the girls who wanted to be ask to go. That was Bo: he told people what they wanted to hear.

Still, when the Bo ambled up to the room in a powder blue suit, ruffled white shirt, and matching white beanie, he was alone. Every girl had been told to me him there -- and why not? Dates were good for dancing!

Bobbing into the room, Bo ignored the photo spot and all the people gathered around the voting box for Prom King and Queen. Instead, he burst through the doors, raised his hands above his head, and said, "WHO WANTS TO DANCE?" And then the blur of powder blue and blond was across the hotel floor and dancing by himself with all the grace and beauty of an epileptic squirrel.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Eilian wasn't the kind of girl who ever spent an inordinate amount of time on her appearance. There used to be mornings where of course the two large braided pigtails were tossed into her hair wtih a careless pair of ribbons but these days, it was just a fall of hair brushed carefully every morning. But for the last big event of her life as a high school student, which she was attending with the one person who exceeded all of her expectations and lived up to all of her ideals, Eilian had spent that inordinate amount of time. Braids had been slept in, her face had been ruthlessly scrubbed to avoid acne, and Albali had even avoided fights on her patrols.

Bruises? At prom? No way.

It would have been enough just to be there and be seen with Fallon but her friend had gone one step further. Earlier in the week the Welsh teen had decided that she had absolutely nothing to wear with her dress. Jewelry was not really something she spent a lot of money on, preferring instead to spend her excessive allowance on books. So her date had been dragged out to find a simple strand of dark pearls and onyx. What Eilian hadn't noticed at the time was the matching bracelet covertly purchased and presented that night in lieu of a corsage. It touched her deeply. Flowers withered and died but the smoky rope of beads would last quite a lot longer than that.

Ever the romantic, deep inside of her heart, Eilian had chosen to take that as a symbol. What other reason would there have been? So all through the limo ride, the pictures, and everything else, she simply beamed. "Well the majority of the budget came through Crystal. I can only imagine the mutiny some of these girls' mothers would have enacted if it had been what any of the Meadowview kids would've come up with. It might have been Neon Raver Prom or something terrifying. Could you imagine being all covered in glowsticks?" Eyes rolled at the mere thought.

"We should stake out a good table where we can see the most people. Things like this are always rife with dramatic scenes!" And that was honestly what she lived for. Watching people, studying their emotions, living through their triumphs and messy failures. The more emotion the better!

Certainly she had a ton to spare.

Fallon stuck close by Eilian's side, eying the room curiously. The music hummed through another set of doors, but the cinnamon-haired girl was in no rush. She preferred ballroom dancing and wouldn't be able to bump and grind if her life depended on it. When a massively tall boy went sprinting past, she turned to Eilian and slowly quirked one eyebrow. Eilian seemed to be in good sprits. Fallon tried to put on a show of it, but she was still too caught up in her own head. When magenta eyes fell on Jada, she only felt worse. When had this distance grown between them?

At Fallon's side, Eilian burbled with information. Fallon listened quietly, musing interest. She wanted to care about the drama, she really did, but her head was dancing through space and time and pulling her farther and farther away from the normalcy of a prom. "If it was glowstick-themed, I would not have come," she said at last. "I'm glad Crystal pitched in -- grateful, really. Not that it wouldn't be expected. The rich elite are always looking to slap their names on something charitable. My mother once dropped ten grand so that the dog grooming salon would mount a plaque with her name on it above the washing station." Fallon rolled her eyes. Mentioning her mother was a numb pain; she could stand it now, if only barely.

Moving toward the tables, Fallon paused by the voting table. "Do you want to be Prom Queen, Eilian? You could finally know what it feels like to wear a tiara," she said, widening her eyes. Was that a joke? It sort of was! Without waiting for an objection, she scrawled Eilian's name down for Prom Queen. "Don't abuse the power. The serfs must be kept down. Serfs, yes? That's a history term." Fallon was failing history. She had been failing it for some time.
PostPosted: Fri May 20, 2011 3:45 pm

Raising an eyebrow at the question, a shoulder shrugged almost carelessly but the grin was irrepressible. "Prom Queen? Fallon you really are brilliant. I think somehow you've hit on the secret longing that I've cuddled to my breast since I was old enough to beg my dear mother to make me a pageant queen at the age of four. Never fear, I can keep those of little standing and brain where they belong...beneath my feet and keeping my shoes clean." She was probably going to have to be shut up at least one point as the night passed on or they would both have headaches.

Eyes looked down at the pad. "Is it immoral to vote for yourself? Probably." Another careless shrug as she looked at the boy that ran past him. "Any chance you know who he is? I bet he'd be an absolutely fabulous King." And that was part of the problem with this whole thing. Eilian didn't really know anyone. Oh sure she knew everyone in the BMC and Vogue as well but they were all....female. For the most part. There were one or two boys weren't there? She was almost sure there were.

Toes were already tapping in her shoes to the music. She was a dance student and could have broken it down with a good hip hop crew, tapped through a routine in the chorus of Broadway, or perhaps even a good ballet. Bump and grind usually involved a level of contact she found somewhat unbearable. Would Fallon slow dance with her later?

That was the real question.

Tabitha was certainly surprised to hear someone call out loudly about dancing. Not the fact that they were asking, just that he was being so loud about it. She whipped her head around to see who it was, stumbling back from the blur of a man rushing past her to start dancing. Wh-what the! Who was...that...? She blinked, just staring at him.

That...that was a very pretty boy. She gawked, a faint flush rising to her cheeks as she cleared her throat and tried to shake it off. Yes, Tabitha. Shaking your head totally makes blushing stop. That was a very interesting dance! But hey, they were here to have fun, right? And and he was clearly having fun. "I do!" Tabitha answered with a grin, looking around for a place to put her small purse. For now it was just put down on a nearby table before she smoothed out her dress, hurrying over to the dancing boy in blue.

Fallon paused. "That should be your acceptance speech," she said dryly. It was banter, even if it was said without much joy or laughter. "They

When Eilian drew attention back to the idiot dancing like... well, an idiot, Fallon groaned. "Oh, please don't encourage... that." The boy linked his fingers and began to do the wiggle. At any moment, Fallon feared he might start breakdancing. The dreadful suit was enough to induce vomit in her. The dancing was just a rotten cherry on top.

Turning away from the abomination, Fallon slipped her fingertips up the soft skin of Eilian's inner arm. "I've never been a good judge of men, Eilian," she said, voice lowered. Painted nails pinched the slip of paper with Eilian's name on it. "But I have magnificent taste in women." The paper disappeared into the ballot box, and the trace of a smile touched Fallon's lips for the first time. Whether or not she was capable of a relationship or love, Fallon did care for Eilian -- and she could be charming when the situation called for it.

She'd just rather throw a punch.

"Morality has never been my forte either," she added. Given the events of recent nights, it was a bit off-color, but Eilian wouldn't know that. Fallon still hadn't worke dup the nerve to tell her what she had done. She hoped she would never have to speak the words. What did it matter? People died all the time. As Ares, she had saved lives countless times -- and this was just once. Just a mistake, a stupid mistake.

The thought made her smile dip, and Fallon distracted herself be fiddling with the bracelet she had bought for Eilian. "It suits you," she mused.

Across the floor, Bo had entered the second phase of what he was certain would be the next dance craze: the sprinkler. He sprinkled left, he sprinkled right, he sprinkled in a circle. If Serenade was here, she would be laughing -- he felt certain of it! The mere thought made him sprinkle a little extra hard.

A bright, cheery voice pipped up near him. Bo stopped suddenly as a young girl with bright orange hair approached him. She was definitely in high school, on the young end too. Cracking a smile, Bo bowed dramatically to her (quite a ways down for the 6'5" man) and then extended his hand to grab hers.

Pulling her forward, Bo twirled her in a circle and then lifted her off the ground. He spun once and then put her back down. "I'm Bo," he said. "And you are Ginger Rogers." What he meant was that she was a ginger, not that he meant it in a bad way. Bo never meant anything in a bad way. Plus, this girl was just that: a girl. Like a little sister! He'd always wanted one. He settled for grinning at the girl instead, waiting for her to take the dance lead.

Marlo at first, hadn't been inclined to attending prom. He'd dropped out of Hillworth and had been a touch of a social recluse. Alright so he'd always been a social recluse. But he'd made a promise once, and that was to take a certain someone to Prom. He'd made it, and when he'd offended her he sent her flowers in hopes to at the very least, let her know he had honestly felt regret over that particular course of action. Then it had all fallen apart. Prom got pushed back, the coma...disasters, life, everyone had been displaced. So, it was with a rather timid phone call he'd asked her once more.

Marlo was after all, a man of his word.

-----------------------------------------

Elzo hadn't ever put much thought into prom. It used to be his idea at a chance to get laid. Now? To have a night he'd lost with the woman he loved. A night they hadn't been given the chance to have and now did, if under slightly different circumstances. Tux was bought, (at Marlo's insistance. Apparently as the owner of a business he'd need one) and his ring slid onto his finger. the tiny white gold band symbolizing that he was both taken and that he was not just a boy anymore. He was still a student at the university, but he was a married man, (or soon to be.Legally yes. Symbolically yes? Historically and through the very forces of time and space? Also yes. Just not publicly. Elzo promised Daphne a dream wedding. He was totally going to give her one.).

"We're here." Elzo had insisted on a limo. Daphne said otherwise. So Naturally Elzo broke down and given her what she wanted, ridding to prom in the car, hood down, and going fast. (sort of, her hair he didn't want her to spend forever trying to fix). This night was just as much for her as it was for him after all. He got to spend the evening with his nymph all dressed up and later would get to snuggle up to her. He could make a few sacrifices.

The sight of Bo dancing did stop Elzo from his date for a second however. He chuckled, still giving the sandy blond a thumbs up as the girl went his way.

Okay, so his dancing was weird..but it was a fun weird. Tabitha was giggling as she approached the--whoa, he was as tall as he was pretty. Don'tstaredon'tstaredon'tstaredon'tstaredon'tstaredon'tstaredon'tstare! She chanted in her head over and over, smiling and giving a little laugh as he bowed to her. And such a gentleman! He was like some kind of perfect god or something! As he offered her his hand she reached out and took it, squealing when he suddenly pulled her toward him and made her twirl. Eep! She'd never quite gotten the hand of doing this in heels! By some miracle she managed not to fall, catching herself on her her other foot to keep from losing her balance moments before she was picked up. She gasped, putting her hands on the older boy's shoulders to keep herself up until she was on her feet again.

Wow.

Ginger Rogers? Who was that? She'd have to look her up later, but for now Tabitha was all smiles and giggles, her hands still settled on Bo's shoulders for the moment. "It's very nice to meet you, Bo! I'm Tabitha!" Honestly at this point he could call her anything he wanted that wasn't an insult and she'd respond to it. Gosh was he pretty or what? And his grin was so charming! Her cheeks felt warm as she smiled helplessly, dropping her hands. "What was that dance you were doing before? It looked really fun!"

Grinning at the new girl, Bo gave her a highfive in greeting. "Tabby Rogers, I got it," he said. "I invited a bunch of awesome friends to prom, and now I would like to channel the Lord of the Dance for the next three hours or so. Will you join me?" A new potential friend! Huzzah!

Without warning, Bo began busting movies so hard that he was certain the universe could feel it. When Elzo strolled by, he waved with one hand and then turned it into a roll that surged through his chest. In his head, it looked very impressive, but it was probably more like this:

What? Bo was totally Beyonce in that scenario. Obviously.

Using every type of gyration, pulse, and twirl that he knew, Bo circled Tabitha, looking goofier and goofier by the moment. He hoped that his own silliness would make her feel better about helping him break in the dance floor. "All right, Tabs, let's impress everyone now," he said, breaking into a hip-thrusting disco and gesturing for her to join.
