Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder Ludovich chuckled some at the other's reaction to the name he asked to give him and smiled once it was accepted. It would be nice to have a name to call the other by other that Crow. After all, a name made things more personal and made it easier to catch a person's attention.
The happiness was seemingly increased in Ludovich as well when the other agreed to tell him what it was that he was. As he started, Ludovich leaned forward in interest and wore a curious expression on his features. The brunette became silent as he listened to Corvus speak and found his story quite interesting. So, he had been changed into a human after dying as a bird? It was something that Ludovich normally would've found hard to believe, but didn't now. After all, he had pretty much been given solid proof that the other was in some way part crow and this story explained why that was pretty well. Ludovich thus, rather than questioning it, put it in his head as a fact, to make things easier for himself in the future.
It was shortly after doing so that the other made the confirmation that he was not his guardian angel. Ludovich smiled some as he said so and then closed his eyes some. "I don't mind if you aren't my guardian angel. I'm an atheist anyways," he said with a small smile before hearing him mention the stars. Ludovich thought some on this before nodding. "Yes... he made it to the stars a a punishment," he said quietly before forming a soft frown," I suppose that wasn't really a good name to give you then, hm? I'm sorry. I kind of forgot the myth behind the constellation."

'Corvus' was hoping the other hadn't found him too hard to believe. He did save his life as well as turn into a humanoid right in his home. When he looked at Ludovich's face he saw a spark of interest. He smiled lightlyto himself, happy the other found him so.
"Atheist…?" He questioned. "Something I find rare, even nowadays. I remember an old woman, burned at the stake, for being so. They called her a witch… Which doesn't make sense to me, if they don't believe in such things…" A rather puzzled look formed on the black bird's face. Humans and their strange assumptions. Their ignorance bothered him, sometimes. "But, that doesn't mean I er… Won't protect you as best I can…" By now he was really throwing out the window the possibility of karma and fate altogether. Such things holding him back from humans lives was rather boring for the past many years. Coming back to his new name, the crow turned his attention to Ludovich.
"It's a fine name…! I mean.. You're not going to banish me and tease me with seeds and water for eternity, now, are you?" He didn't mind the fact the other gave him a name. It was a nice change, to have some identity. Giving a small chuckle, he added, "Not many people really bother to remember the stories anymore, anyway. I love the stars, always have. And how they change to show different stories. I've read so many tales in them, I know them by heart, by now." He remembered the time where studying such things were practically a common hobby along with Latin and the mathematics. Sighing heavily, he almost missed the non-technological times like that. Coming back to focus, the creature cleared his throat. "Is there anything else you want to know?"

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder Ludovich raised an eyebrow some at the story of the witch, starting to wonder how long the other had actually been alive for. After all, such a thing hadn't happened in this country for decades. Did that mean the other was older that he looked. Ludovich looked the other over as he thought on this. He then heard the other mention protecting him and smiled some. At this, his care of his age was wiped from his age and he just sat and listened to Corvus speak. A light shake of the head was given as a response to his question and Ludovich just continued to hold that small smile on his lips. The way he spoke about the stars, as if they were the most amazing thing in the world, made him happy and even more curious about the other male. Every time he opened his mouth he had something new to say about something that rarely, if ever, crossed Ludovich or many other people's minds. It was interesting really. The other's talk about that soon faded though as he remembered that Ludovich had wanted to question him.
The brunette was quiet for a moment as he pondered what it was that he wanted to say before looking to the other. "How did you find me? I mean, I know my name is out there since I'm a contract killer, but you didn't seem to know about that. In fact, you seemed a bit surprised when you first found out," he said as he looked to Corvus. This had been something that had been bothering him for a bit now. After all, he always tried his hardest to just blend into the crowd or to disappear. He wondered at what point he could've been obvious enough for the other to have spotted him. After all, no one had been on the road other than him and that man at night and Corvus had seemed to have just appeared out of nowhere, as if he'd already been following close behind him.

The crow held a small smile at the other man's next question. "I was stalking you." He replied bluntly. "I saw you one night entering a house, and I thought nothing of it. Turns out in that same area is the best starry view… But I sensed death right next to me. I thought you were just a thief, but when I visited in that house, I saw you sleeping next to the dead woman." Corvus was a little upset the woman was killed, but he really didn't know what she was dead for, he kept it to himself. "I went back out the window, but I fell. I'm surprised I didn't wake you with the noise I made going out." Crow quietly thought, remembering that he had found him the other day by mere chance. "I wasn't really looking for you last time, but I came into a house where I heard a struggle. I saw you leave and a woman beside whom I assume to be her husband." Putting two and two together, he realized he really shouldn't have snapped that woman's neck, now, should he have?
Clearing his throat, he continued without mention that little detail. "I was able to follow you after that, and thought that man waiting was a friend of your until I saw you struggle. I followed you, and to be honest I almost left you there. So I came down, made sure no one would find us first, and sealed that mark temporarily. You asked me if I was your guardian angel…" He chuckled at the thought. The bird of death and curses, an angel? But he couldn't help his reply to him when Ludovich was hurt. Though, he really did like this human.
Corvus stood suddenly and his arms were swallowed up by feathers. The feathers in his hair stood as he turned around to face Ludovich. He bowed with his wings spread apart before covering himself with them, sitting shoulder to shoulder by the other male, his legs pulled up to his chest. He hummed a soft melody, sitting beside the other. His feathers ruffled and he suddenly bit Ludovich on the shoulder, cooing as he did so. He sat quietly there, wondering what the other would do.

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder [[Ugh this is so short. I'm so sorry. ]] Ludovich listened carefully as the other explained how he had found him. It would seem as though he had done so by accident and coincidence. Ludovich smiled some at the thought and just continued listening to make sure that was really the case. Once he was certain that was so, he felt himself ease quite a bit. After all, since it had been an accident, that meant that he wouldn't have to worry about other's having followed him. Ludovich leaned back some at the thought and smiled wider at the Corvus' last comment. "Hey. Don't laugh. I was dying of bloodloss. I didn't really know what I was saying. Plus, you can't really blame me can you. I mean you were protecting me and had feathers. It was an honest mistake," he said, seeming a bit embarrassed at the Corvus' words. This embarrassment was increased as he was suddenly nipped on the shoulder.
Ludovich's cheeks heated up quite a bit and he looked at Corvus, seeming surprised. "You just bit me," he said with just a bit of shock," why did you do that?" As Ludovich questioned this he backed up some and looked at the other. Despite the fact that he had been bitten though, he showed no anger, just surprise. He couldn't really believe that the other had done so. Was it because he was reverting back to his birdlike ways or simply just because he wanted to tease him? He couldn't figure it out, but either way it made him feel flustered, which also confused him. After all, it had just been a n**. There was no reason for it to have bothered him, but it did.

Corvus cooed again, his feathers twitching in his hair, still. "I want to protect you." Crow said with a smile before moving closer when the other back away. He gave another small bite . "Will you accept?" He asked, his wings folded around Ludovich's body gently. Resting his head on the shoulder he bit, he nipped it again. "You could be my mate. Then I'd have to protect you at all cost, until the end of your life cycle. That is, if you accept." The human male seemed so flustered. Why was that? Humans and their complex emotions. Crows like him, or at least, when he was still a normal crow, would simply agree or disagree to whatever they chose, emotions aside. Perhaps his mating song wasn't good enough to impress Ludovich, which made him a little sad.
"Do you not like the song…? Maybe you prefer wings, then?" Pulling his wings back, Corvus spread his feathers wide. "Since your male, there's no point to even try to breed. That is, unless you want to continued your bloodline.. Then I suppose there isn't any worth in me trying, is there…?" Despite having said that, Corvus still wanted to impress the other, his birdbrain not connecting the pieces that such rituals are useless to anything but crows… "I could paint my feathers if you like the peacocking type. But I'm afraid I can't sing as well as others.." The Crow's downfall… His singing voice wasn't as great as he wished. It'd be much easier to impress to mate, to eventually breed. How was it that humans breed again...? Not that he'd even try with Ludovich… What was the point in that if you couldn't conceive? He only wanted to hold the title, really, for self-pride.

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder [[I don't I think it's cute >.<]] Ludovich watched as the other neared him again and felt his cheeks flush even more red, if that was possible, as he nipped at him again. "Y-You're mate," he questioned, seemed deeply confused by the offer. It was a weird question to be asked, especially so plainly put. After all, it wasn't exactly the most common thing for someone to just come up to you and ask you to make such a commitment only after knowing them for a short period of time. Then again, Corvus was a crow. Perhaps, he couldn't see the problem with doing such a thing. Ludovich wanted to clarify this with him quick, but quickly zipped his lips as the other continued with his mating ritual.
Ludovich watched him quietly, feeling his blushing fade some after a bit. Instead he now actually started to consider his words. After all, the other had offered to protect him had he not and he could really use the company. Plus, it seemed as though the other would not stop until he got his way. Ludovich thus just moved closer to the other before smiling some. "Fine, you can be my mate," he said as he looked to the other carefully," but only if you stop nipping at me. Are we in agreement then?" As he said this, he had a feeling that he would regretted this agreement, but he pushed the regret away for now and instead looked at the perks. He'd be protected for life and would have company rather than being alone for his whole life....

Corvus put his winged-arms down with a smile planted on his face. It seems his wingspan was perfect for the convincing, after all! "How else would I display my dominance, then?" He asked when Ludovich requested him to stop his nipping. "Bonding for dominance is supposed to lead to breeding, and you can't bear anything. No children, live or shelled…" The black-clad fey sighed in a bit more huff than he intended. There'd be no point in bonding if neither can continue a bloodline! Remembering other humans he'd seen roaming about the city, Crow leaned forward to catch the other's lips. "Is that better?" He asked, hoping the other would approve. It might be a problem if there was a fight for dominance, but the black bird enjoyed solving such problems.
"You wouldn't happen to know the next full moon, would you?" He suddenly asked, satisfied with himself. "The stars are always beautiful, then. Easier to see even in the foggiest parts of the city." The feathers around Crow's body wrapped tightly around his frame, buckling into belts again. With a quiet, 'Oh', Corvus decided to add, "Would you like to see them? I know the perfect spot several blocks from here. It has little fog, and the star alignment is usually very bright, there." He wanted to share the view with the man, but when he thought about it, Ludovich would have to climb.. He'd have to somehow make a step-up for him from the ground to the roof. He wished he had wings separate from his arms to carry him. He hoped the wounds in the other's abdomen wouldn't open up again either. "Hopefully, by then, your wound will heal." Stepping away from Ludovich, Corvus, faced the window. "I'll be back…" He said. "I need get a few things." With that and sudden change of subject done, his body was soon covered in feathers and compacted into the small bird before taking flight and phasing through the wall. With a new roost, he needed to find his belongings.
The crow flew around, trying to catch sight of his favourite perch. Swooping down he picked up the few things he had kept. Simply a string of silver ribbon, a dried rose, and a falcon feather. The ribbon would shine so brightly in any light, he was glad to be the first bird to catch it. The rose so well preserved was interesting to him and so he stole it right from someone's open window. The falcon feather was just another treasure. He hadn't seen a falcon around, so he kept the feather. Perhaps he could meet the bird that created such a find pointed plume. Cawing loudly at other birds, warning them these things were his, he took them up in his beak and turned back to the man's house. He landed by a closed window and tapped at the glass. He may be able to get in himself, but his little belongings could not. The black bird tapped and tapped, wanting to be let in.

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder Ludovich frowned some as Corvus mentioned that it was a way to express dominance. He didn't want to be dominated! To be dominated meant that you were less than another and he didn't want that. Ludovich thus opened his mouth to protest. His words were soon interupted though as the crow pressed his lips against his own. At this, Ludovich felt his cheeks heat up yet again and found it hard to form an answer to Corvus' question. After all, it had felt nice in a way, but he didn't like how much it made him blush or the way that it was used as a sign of dominance. Ludovich thus just had an inner battle in his head before finally managing a soft nod. "I suppose, though please do it on the cheek next time...."
Shortly after this request, Corvus questioned about the next full moon. Ludovich got silent at this and started thinking. "I believe it is three weeks from now. By then, my blood cell count should be up again, so I should be fine," he said with a soft smile," if I can keep it that way, I'd be happy to go see the stars with you, but if it I can't, you probably wouldn't let me." With this said, he carefully watched the other head off and waved.
Once Corvus was out of sight, Ludovich closed his eyes and took a deep breath. It would seem as though being Corvus' mate would be more of a hassle than he had previously thought. After all, if he kept up with the whole need for dominance, Ludovich thought he'd go insane. He eased a bit as he thought about the perks. He'd be protected and he would have company. Plus, the kiss wasn't that bad, just embarrassing was all. Ludovich thought on that for a moment before hearing a tap on the window. At this, he broke from his place and to the window. "Well, that didn't take long."

Crow gladly let himself in, flying past Ludovich, and perched on a cushion and dropped his little items, saying nothingm not even a caw. Taking them back into his beak, he flew to the highest perch he could find, sitting there with his things. Letting out a throaty cry, he flew back down and in an instant he was no longer a bird, holding the piece of silver ribbon. "You're interesting, I like you… But they're mine." He said threateningly. He walked up to Ludovich, looking down at him intently. His gaze softened and he turned around. Holding the silver ribbon. "But, you can have this one." He said, turning back to take Ludovich's wrist, He tied the ribbon to his finger before he made his way to the couch, sitting in the corner with his legs against his chest and arms wrapped tight. "Was there anything else you wanted to know…?" He asked quietly. " I'd like to know more about you, myself." Pondering on what he wanted to ask, himself, Corvus examined Ludovich, head to toe and back again. "How did you get here…? The city I mean." He decided to start with.
"Ah… I think there will be rain." He mentioned, feeling the hairs on his neck begin to prickle. He could smell the heavy clouds, even with the putrescent scent of pollution in the air. But it might not even hit the city. It might move right over them. He could never be sure with his guesses, but he was always close. "Do you like the rain…? I never really did. Everything grows so cold, and it makes it so hard to fly…" His voice grew sullen, holding no like for rain. He hated having to shield himself when it came. His wings would grow wet and make it impossible to fly, even with their sleek coating. "For three weeks, make sure not to do anything stupid." Crow criticized. "There would have to be another two fortnights to wait out for another night like it."

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder Ludovich listened as the other spoke to him threateningly and had to suppress a chuckle. He did not much want any of his things, but he supposed that letting Corvus know that would hurt his feelings. The young man, thus, just nodded some and watched as the ribbon was tied around his finger. A smile graced his lips some at this and he carefully looked to him. "Thank you very much," he said before watching the other walk back to the couch. Once there, he listened to him question him about asking more questions. Ludovich still had plenty, but, instead of asking him, just shook his head. He'd have plenty of time to ask him later and it was only fair to let the other question him as well.
Ludovich thus calmly took a seat and prepared himself to answer his questions. His ears listened carefully for everything before thinking it over. He then opened his lips to speak. "I was born in the city, so I've been here for ever. My mother and father wanted to move me away from this place, but never could gain enough money to successfully do. I was thus just raised here and am stuck living here for the rest of my life," he answered before pausing to think on the second question. Did he like the rain, was strangely harder tro answer than the one about the past was. After all, the past was simple, but his feelings about rain were welll... torn.
"I enjoy the rain because it cleans the Earth and I like things clean. I also hate it tough because of the chill that comes from being wet. So, I suppose I can't really give you a definite answer. I'll get back to you on that at a later point, so remind me."
"Also, as for not doing anything stupid, I will try my hardest, but I can't promise you that I won't. It's something required for my job."

Crow fell to his side with a muffled plop, not moving his body an inch as he did. Relaxing afterward, he was laying on the couch, listening to Ludovich's tale. He couldn't leave the city, then? What was stopping him? "You can just leave and be a hermit, couldn't you? But I suppose it's not as easy as it used to be…" Corvus reminisced the times with travelers, coming and going in the small towns that eventually escalated into cities. You couldn't just claim an area and make your living there. You had to go through so much trouble to get there. Crow frowned, wondering why humans couldn't just be more like the animals they are. Being a bird, Crow could just steal an apple and no one would mind him at first. In fact, sometimes as an animal he could be fed. Silly creatures.
"I will remind you." He repeated, after Ludovich answered his second question. Yes, he supposed the Earth did need the rain, but he still didn't like it. Everything smelled terribly after it, too. "Is there anything you're afraid of?" The other had to be afraid of something. The black bird wanted to dissect his target, learn about him. His interest he felt almost obsessive. "Why is it that you kill others? You get paid, and this current world runs on money.. But you could do soemthing that gave you just as much without the ticket to death attached, couldn't you?" Was there some internal click in the other's mind? Perhaps he liked the blood. But that wouldn't make any sense or else the other murders would be gory and exaggerated. Was there even anything connected at all? Corvus wondered so much about this person. "Why are you here all alone?" He added, the thought of a single man in a gangland bothering him to no end.

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder Ludovich listened carefully to Corvus' many questions. Some he felt completely comfortable with answering, while others he was more against doing so. "I am afraid of things, but can't think of anything too specific at the moment," he said quietly not feeling quite comfortable with telling the other any of his fears at this point. Ludovich knew it was probably silly of him not to, considering that the other couldn't tell anybody, but he felt an unexplainable need to keep quiet on it for now. Perhaps it was just his way of protecting himself from harm? Either way, he chose not to linger to long on the thoughts and just moved onto the next, slightly easier question. "One of the reasons why I became a contract killer was to make something of myself. Since I was born to a lower class family in this city, I knew it would be hard for me to get anywhere in life. I couldn't attain the riches of the upper class because of my crappy schooling. This left me with being the scum under their feet, which I didn't want to do either. I didn't want to settle for a crappy factory job or a job as a prostitute, I wanted to be better than that. Contract killing got me that. I make much better pay than I would as anything else and am viewed as something fearful to the upper class rather than just a worthless piece of trash. Plus, I'm good at killing," he said with a soft smile before quickly moving onto the last, and easiest question. "I already told you why. I live here alone because my family is dead and I don't have anyone that I like enough for me to ask them to move in with me. If that answer doesn't satisfy you though, I'll give you another one. I don't live with anyone because I don't trust people. A lot of them are real scummy and would just love to kill me in my sleep. Living alone is, thus, easier. Now is that all you have to ask me?"
After asking this, he looked over to the other, who was laying sideways on his couch. There were a few feathers sticking out of his hair again, which made him smile. It made him look so much like the bird he was. It was interesting really how they just chose to pop up. After all, they really had no reason to. Perhaps, it just happened each time he transformed from a crow to a human? Ludo pondered this some before carefully reaching out and touching the other's hair.

Corvus sighed, wondering if Ludovich was telling the truth in half of his answers. It wasn't like the crow could just go off and tell anyone. He was still upset by revealing himself to this one human. Still, it was of his own fault, even if he wanted the other to live just a bit longer. Still, as Ludovich continued, he felt like he pried a little too much. So this man truly was completely alone? How sad and boring that must be. Crow thought of himself, living as a hermit. He didn't fly with other birds and stayed when the other crow migrated away when there were no crops left to steal from. Survival was the key, he already estimated that, but he couldn't help but want to hear it. "I'm sorry," He whispered as the other had asked if he wanted to question further. Did he irritate the man? "I don't have any other things to ask." He finished calmly. More like impassively with his voice giving a monotone. Though, he really couldn't think of much to ask other than the more personal things he planned to ask later.
Corvus' feathers twitched, feeling the slightest brush against his feather bristles before sticking out entirely, fanning out his hair. He cooed before lifting his head instinctively. He kept quiet, letting the silence grow for a moment. Ludovich's gentle touch stirred Cow's feathers, it made him shake his head to fix his hair in vain. "What about you…? I'm sure you have many things you want to know." It wasn't every day a magical crow turned human saves a person and claimed them as their new mate. Crow chuckled at the thought, silencing himself when he realized he laughed out loud.

Ludovich~Arneson It takes two to murder [[ugh all my posts are so short]] "There's no reason to be sorry," Ludovich said with a soft smile before chuckling at the other's attempt to fix his hair. He then slightly shook his head some. "I do have some that I want to ask you, but not until I know you better," he said simply before closing his eyes some. He knew he should be skeptical of this whole situation and should want to ask a bunch of questions, but he preferred to just think about the answers that had been answered already. Ludovich frowned some as he thought about them and then finally had a question come to mind. "How exactly did you turn into a human. Was it witchcraft or something else entirely?"
It had been one of the things that he had wondered most when he first figured out he could change. He had believed that it had been answered earlier, by Corvus' short story, but then realized that it hadn't been. He had just said that he was afraid to die and was given another chance. The being that gave him this chance had not been mentioned. Ludovich wondered perhaps if Corvus wasn't quite sure himself or if he had just wated to avoid the topic. Either way though, he wanted to figure out somehow...
There are victims, born to have their throats cut, and cutthroats, born to be hanged.
