Leto's eyes went wide as Ares pulled her red cloak off and laid it on the table in front of them. She had a frown set deep on her face, Ares' speech about unity and the faction crumbling resonating through the room and through Leto. She had a hard time wrapping her head around the idea of ignoring what the Captain of the Blood Moon Court orders to be done. She sat in silence as Cadets, Mercenaries and Inner Sanctum Senshi alike made their points and bickered back and forth. And then suddenly, Ares was handing over the next mission to Birhan Istat and walking out of the room.
Leto's eyes followed Ares as she walked through the doors. Her hands balled into fists on her lap and she shook her head slowly. She was leaning back now, her chair balancing carefully on the two back legs.
"I'll follow orders," she chimed as her chair dropped back down onto all fours and she stood to her feet. "But I would hope that, Cadet or not.. I get to be just as involved as your next mission, Birhan, as I was in Operation Rota." She flashed a charming smile at the new girl in charge and the rest of the Court and turned to leave the meeting room.
"I'll see you all at practice and on patrol~" she muttered, and quickly raised her right hand in a wave as she left the room.

She couldn't believe it just happen, Ares left them all. Walked right out of the room, without a second glance.
Shaking her head, Serpentarius looks up at Birhan as she chews on her bottom lip. She was at a lost as to what had to be done. Part of her wanted to walk out, just because of Ares. the other half of her wanted to stay because Birhan was the one who brought her to the court in the first place. This was the most messed up thing at the moment. They shouldn't be choosing side, they should be standing as one.
With a long sigh, she slips into the seat next to her cousin. Leaning in, she turns her head some as she whispers "When this is all over, we need to figure out a plan. I don't know about you, but I rather not see this court crumble." they would come up with a plan together, then present it to see if the rest of the court felt it could work.

Zirconia didn't have it in her to debate with the rest after she'd spoken up. Instead, with each argument against her captain, she had sunk closer and closer to the floor until she was a flopped hairball, looking bewildered and exhausted and watching Ares make her exit with the heartbroken expression of an tired, feeble creature left behind and too weary to follow.
Why couldn't they just work? Why all the turmoil? For purely selfish reasons, the cat had hoped the Blood Moon would be a surrogate family replacing the hole left by the one she'd been separated from, and they were ruining everything. They just didn't work right and it was jarring, to say the least, and even worse, she didn't know how to fix them.
And now Birhan was in charge, and this didn't fly at all. It was awkward adjusting to Ares being in charge, and she only eventually did because Ares was someone she had been with since the beginning, and had her unconditional affection and only slightly begrudging trust that was always increasing by leaps and bounds. Birhan was still new. New by her standards, at least. But she wanted this to work. She wanted this chasm gone so they could just go back to being a unified team again. Her stance was less a loyalist with strong opinions and more of a meddling grandmother that was far too interested in your quarrels with your siblings.
Should she leave and cement herself as being on Ares' side? That was the burning question that rattled in her brain and she second guessed her decision for the remainder of the meeting. But she stayed. She was silent, but she stayed until the rest were gone. It was her job and it must be done, but the entire time she was in silent debate with herself. Her loyalties were all over the place. Her fondness was often repressed and replaced with critical sarcasm or just outright ignoring the 'new people', but she did have a budding affection for some of the cadets, and for Birhan, for Scylla, but Ares was Ares, and she had been with her through so much more for so much longer.
Dread. That's all this meeting left her with.

Kallichore nodded to Serpentarius, watching Birhan with her brown eyes. Serpentarius was right - something in the air made her nervous, like the court was collapsing in on itself, and they had just gotten there! Kallichore did not wish to see the court crumble, not after so much progress had been made. She wanted to make a difference, to really do something.
"Let's meet tomorrow. I'd like to discuss some things about all this. This makes me nervous." she explained, keeping her voice to a whisper. It looked to her like the court was at a stand still, so to speak. With Ares gone, Kallichore wasn't sure what else she could do during the meeting. Frowning, it looked like the best opportunity to make her exit. She looked to Serpentarius as she stood, knowing her cousin would understand. They needed to get some fresh air and to think.
Turning to the exit Ares took, Kallichore followed in her queen's footsteps.
