"Of course Cedric... you can use Hayden's old bed if you want, it's the first door on the right down the hall." Asu nodded in response to Cedric's request.
"Milk..? I like chocolate milk. And regular milk with cereal. Sometimes regular milk is okay, I guess, but it's not my favorite." Deskri shrugged, eager to jump any chance that came to avoid thinking about Sonnet figuring out what he had before he had the chance to give it to her as a surprise. That would suck...
Silas nibbled at his food, content with listening to the conversations going on around the table for the time being, but... he got curious. Who exactly was he going to be related to after the adoption? Deskri said he'd broken up with his uncle, but he seemed really close to the girl with purple wings... Sonnet, right? He hated having to remember names... "Arr yuu married?" He asked the question before even really thinking about what it meant, or what awkward reaction might occur. To him, it was just the simplest way of figuring out where to categorize the others.

The girl just nodded, listening to Deskri before finally eating the food that was on her plate. All seemed well until her brother asked a rather amusing question - one that got Moira to burst out in laughter. If it was so obvious that he could see it, she was surprised that some people hadn't figured it out already.
"S-sorry!" Moira giggled a little, quickly covering her mouth and trying to quiet down.

Cedric had just stood up to leave but the manic laughter of Moria made him sit back down again before looking at Deskri, then Sonnet, then Deskri again.
"Yeah, are you two married? Eloping sounds like something you two would do..." he said before snickering, mainly at Deskri.
Sonnet...didn't look to happy, though it was obvious by her face that she wasn't displeased with anyone. She just kept mouthing words, and her eyes were closed tight. After a few moments, she sighed, and her pleasant demeanor returned.
"No, not yet. Just dating still. Maybe someday, if he wants to" was all she could say.

A wide grin spread over Asu's face. This was a perfect conversation. "Yeah, Des. I'm not going to live forever and I expect grandchildren before I'm too old to play with them. Get on that." Asu stuck out her tongue and shook her head.
Deskri... well... Deskri literally lost all color, mind racing, most of the thoughts being oh god just shoot me now! KILL ME NOW!
"N-n-no we're n-n-not married S-Silas." He finally managed to push the words out of his mouth as he began to sink in his seat. It took every ounce of will power not to just port himself back to his house or something.
And of course Asu had to bring up children. OF COURSE she did. "A-ASU! WHY WOULD YOU EVEN SAY THAT HERE? SERIOUSLY?" In that instant all color returned, which revealed his face to be a rather deep shade of embarrassed red. Ohhhh how humiliating! This was going to feed the fires of Hayden's mockery for months! MONTHS!
Amidst all of the reactions, Silas looked from one person to the next, a frown growing on his face. "Did I say sumfin rong?"
"What's wrong Emokid? You've been dating forever and a day." Hayden contributed to the laughing with his own series of recorded laughs from various TV shows and real life occasions.

Sonnet shook her head. "No Silas, you said nothing wrong, it's other people that have Deskri all up in arms," she said as she scooted out her chair from the table and grabbed Deskri's hand gently.
"I think it's best if we go for a little walk," she said, both to him and to everyone else. She looked at Deskri then. "Does that sound good?"
Kyle laughed. "Don't worry about it Silas. Deskri is just easy to fluster is all, so everyone's taking advantage of it"
Cedric rolled his eyes. Things got boring again, so he stood up and finally walked off to the bed Asu mentioned earlier

"YES. Yes that sounds great." Deskri stood up, nearly tripping over his chair in the effort to get out of the house as fast as possible. This time Sonnet didn't have to drag him anywhere, actually, he probably ended up dragging her out the door behind him.
"Oh. my. God. She is so embarrassing. I can't believe her! I'm sorry Sonnet, that was... that was just... not right..." He groaned immediately after the door shut. He most certainly wasn't going to live that one down for a long, long time. If ever.
"Oh. Okey..." Silas blinked a little, watching Deskri and Sonnet as they left the house. "Will they be back? They lefted ther fud." He pointed at their plates.
"Ahhh who cares, Des just makes the room darker with his constant grump." Hayden shrugged. Since the amusement was gone he went back to finishing his food.
"Anyway... after dinner you and Silas can sign the adoption papers if you like." Asu shook her head a little bit. Perhaps since he'd been called out on taking forever, Deskri might actually get the ball rolling sooner rather than later.

Sonnet smiled weakly and patted Deskri's hand. "Don't worry about it Deskri. I really don't mind," she said with a light nod before giving his had a squeeze.
"Come on, let's just go for a walk and try and forget that all just happened, at least for a bit before they bring it back up again."

"Y-yeah..." Deskri sighed and walked along with Sonnet until they eventually reached the small forested area near one of the back walls. He figured by then they had probably already put away all of the food and he'd probably gained two new siblings as well, so that meant there wasn't really much of a rush to get back. He spotted a bench along the treeline, "do you want to sit down for a bit?" He pointed to the bench. He figured this.. this was probably going to be the best place to do it. Before anyone completely ruined it, and it was secluded enough that he didn't feel completely exposed to (imaginary) onlooking eyes.

"Sure, that sounds fine to me," she said with a smile as the both of them headed to the bench. "We should go on walks more often," she commented. "At least on the grounds, I know how you dislike it when humans are about and staring at us..." she rambled slightly, trying her best to keep her mind occupied so it wouldn't go on a tangent. It was getting really hard to fight now.

"Yeah... this is pretty nice. I hear there's a country on the other side of this one that's more accepting." Des shrugged a little as he sat down on the bench. He felt his heart began to speed up, and the nervous shaking kicked in almost immediately. It'll be a miracle if I get the words out right..sheesh... He swallowed perhaps a little too loudly. The hand that hadn't been holding Sonnet's had been in his pocket the whole time, since he figured it would be pretty obvious if he suddenly reached into his pocket while they were walking.
"um.." He glanced down at the ground, slowly pulling the little black box out of his pocket. He let go of her hand and then held the box up, and opened it. "D-do you... I mean, w-will you... marry...me...?"

This would have been more of a shock if Moria hadn't unintentionally given it away. She knew this was coming, but still, to SEE the ring, to HEAR him say it, that's all she really needed. She could feel her heart leap she was so happy, and the widest of smiles spread across her face.
"Of course Deskri, but only if you really want me too," she said with a laugh as tears of pure joy seemed to well up in her eyes, but she was doing a good job of keeping them at bay. "There is a chance of you finding someone better out there after all. It's me you're asking to marry..."

He felt a wave of relief wash over him in an instant. He figured it would be a very low chance of her saying no, but still, the possibility that she could had him nervous. "S-someone better? Nonsense. You're the only person that's been by my side no matter what. A-and I wouldn't ask you if I wasn't sure." He smiled a bit, and pulled the ring out of it's spot and took her hand to slide it on her finger. "Does it fit okay...?"

Sonnet laughed a meek laugh. "You know how I am. I can't help but think that way," she said with an almost defeated tone before she watched the ring being placed on her finger. Once it was on she wiggled her hand a bit to get a feeling of it being on her finger, a piece of jewelry that had someone told her she'd have one a year ago, she would have laughed and claimed them to be crazy.
"It fits perfect," she said with a smile, though for a quick moment, the smile faded before it returned, but this time with a slight tinge of sadness.
"If someone told me a year ago that this was going to happen to me, I wouldn't have believed them. In fact, even though I know it's true, I half expect to wake up in a hospital bed from a coma or something and everything was just a dream..." She laughed a bit. "That'd just be my luck"

"Good." Deskri nodded a little, happy that the ring fit and he wouldn't have to pay to get it resized or anything. "W-what...?" He frowned, that... if this was a dream they were probably both in a coma somewhere sharing the dream. "If it's a dream we're both in a coma. Don't... don't say stuff like that." He took her hands in his, hoping that would assure her that it wasn't a dream and it was really happening.

Sonnet couldn't help but laugh sheepishly. "You know I can't help it sometimes. With all the bad stuff that's happened to us over the years, it's still sort of hard to accept that good things can happen too..." she said before leaning in to give Deskri a quick kiss.
"Though, if this is a coma, I think I'd prefer to stay in it," she said with a smile.
