The beast kicked only for a littlw while longer. Her jaws heavily grasped to it's throat, ehr dusty pink eyes dancing as t gave the final deathly rattle and lay still. She held tightly for a moment longer before slowly releasing and licking her lips of the blood which has spilt from the animals throat. Tip toeing forwards she nudged Umos cheek lightly "you are a very skilled hunter Umo" she smiled lightly padding around him to lay and catchher breath, the whole length of her body brushed against him as she went, it was sort of a congradulatory rub. She really had never heard of a male hunting weillingly with a female before. Umo was something differnt something special. She gave a light sigh as she watched him, if only he would stay with her though. would he wish to live in the swamp though, she knew it wasn't to everyones tastes. Perhaps, she was jumping the gun, he was the first adult male she had ever met but she felt so, strange, already she felt attached to the large monotone voiced male.

Umo felt the last of the preys breath leave it and held onto the creatures nose a few seconds longer, just to make sure of its death. If it rose it could easily trample her. He let go, stepping back and rubbing his cheek along hers back, happy that they had brought down this creature together. "You are as well, a good hunter Kika." He said flatly, a smile on his maw. What would he do. Would his prides king allow him to leave to the swamps. Would Kika come to his pride or stay in the swamp. He shook his head. He didn't care, he really was fond of this female and from what he caught, she was fond of him. Stepping around to look down at the dead creature, he looked up at her with a smile. "Nicely done Kika. A clean kill. " He said flatly.

Kika smiled at the big male. Time honoured traditions flickered through her mind as she watched him. Males usually ate their fill first, didn't they? Her mother had told her so but that was so long ago now, maybe things had changed. For a moment she groomed cleaning away the blood from her chops before she stood and padded over to Umo brushing her cheek against his shoulder "We work well together" she whispered her airy whispy voice sweet upon the ear.

Umo recalled when he had first learned to hunt with his other siblings, who now were just blurred images of what they looked like. He had blocked them from his mind so long that... they wre almost absent. Looking over to Kika, he found himself entranced by her. He knudged the prey so that the stomach was more acsesable(sp?) to her. Females should always come first. He found he had diffrent thoughts than other males did... then again. He was a stuborn ox when it came to what he believed was right. "Go ahead Kika." He said, knudging her side. "You did most of the work." He sat down and waited for ehr too start.

Kikawaida looked a little flustered but only for a moment. She padded forwards and headbuttesd the big male affectionately "You really are very unusual Umo, I like that" she whispers looking up at him with a gentle smile on her pretty face "Lets eat together" she smiles softly, those big, dusty pink eyes resting happily upon the large muscular male. He really was such a sweet male, but was she allowing herself to become attached to him too easily? At this moment, she didn't care a lick. Leaning down she sunk her sharp fangs in to the belly of the beast, tearing away a sizable chunk to access the warm insides. She felt, so happy, this would certainly be the most delicious meal she had ever had.

Umo smiled warmly at her, his crimson eyes soft. He never imagined he would find a female that was so like him. Special. Sort of a loner. Speaking diffrently. He nuzzled her. "You are such a unique lioness Kika. I am very gladdened by your presence." He said, watching her begin to eat. He then ate after her, savoring the first meal he had caught with a female. A female that was unique and in his mind, one of a kind. One of his kind of a female.

Kikawaida looked at him, shyly for a moment, she let out a soft, airy laugh before turning to look at the far away skyline "Thankyou" could she say any more to such a sweet sentiment? She really couldn't think of anything else to say. part of her longed for the spirits to tell her exactly what to say noew, but she had abandoned them hadn't she? Abandoned them by leaving the swamps. She gave a soft sigh. the meat had tasted wonderful for a moment but now, it was sour on her tongue, she looked at Umo saddly moving towards him she curled up closely to him her face buried in his flock of a mane "You will think me strange Umo that i wish to return tot he swamps, to the spirits I have always known. I am of an old pride known as the Spirit talkers. I have listend to them my whole life and now I find it strange that they do not advise me." She paused looking up at the big male her soft pink eyes looking worried and saddened. Would he find her strange for saying such things? She had always beleived the spirits to be there for her. Now she had left them but found, so much more in ehr short travels. Oh please, let him stay, despite her unusual habbits.

Umo smiled at her spoken word. Cocking his head he watched her, a worried look on his face. She sighed and he looked more upset. "No. I do not think you are weird. The swamps are your life and your home. You are specail and I am glad that you are so loyal to your pride. But-" He stopped, looking away for a moment, his red eyes sad. "-I will not lie and say I will not miss your company and presence. On the contrary I will miss you greatly. I barely know you yet, I want to know everything about you Kika." He looked to her, his eyes soft. "I belong to a pride Kika but... I will see whether or not I will be able to dismiss myself from my new lands to be with you because. I want to be with you more than I want to be alone. Does this sound foolish."

Kika lifted her head to look at the large male, her dusty pink eyes danced happily "Really?" she whispers her ears flattening against her skull as she leaned up and licked his cheek "No, it sounds like a wonderful prospect Umo. the swamp, it has always been my home and the spirits spoke to me of change" she smiled lightly "Will you return with me before you go home?" she paused for a moment "I really do not wish to go back without you" she looked shy, perhaps a little embarressed but full of a warm, fuzzy feeling that Umo was bringing on her. She had met so few lions in her time on this earth, but somehow, she connected with umo, she really didn't wish for him to leave her side. If only she knew the phrase love at first sight, she might be less bemused by the butterflies in her stomach and the wont to never be apart from the large, slowly spoken male.

Kika nodded softly. Her heart suddenly scrunched up very tightly in her chest. What if his leader said no? The thought was quickly dashed from her mind, at least for the moment any way , she didn't wish to seem worried, or defencive "I understand" she looks a little sheepish her tail giving a single, low laying swish "You will come, come and see where I live then yo can find your way back to me." Kika didn't know the meaning of the word desperate. She was simply always lead to beleive that you should follow your heart and ask questions later, or listen to the spirits and allow them to guide you to your true goal. "You will return with me for now won't you?" she asked, a pleading look in her eyes. She knew he ahd to ask permission but she really didn't want to loose the large male so swiftly. if only he could see the swamp, maybe he would not wish to leave it. Perhaps he would stay with her and forget his old pride. She knew these to be false hopes really. Umo seemed to be so loyal. Already seh could feel his loyalty to her, even if her loyalties were with the swamp, Umo had certainly stolen a peice of it.

Umo looked at her, sensing that she was feeling the same thing he was. That deep fear. Asi was a good leader and would understand. Umo bowed his head, stepping so his jaw was resting on her back. "Of course. I will travel with you to see your swamps. I have never been someplace that might be as wet as swamps are said to be, but I will adjust." He said, a little sheepishly. He had grown up in sands. To go from sands to swamps would be a change. "I will always find my way back to you Kika. I will follow every path this planet has to find you." He said almost despratly, standing up and knudging her. "I-I won't let myself!" He said, his speech loosing its usual drawn out sentances, without the conjioned words. "I won't loose something I don't want to forget!" His voice still lacked tone though.

Kika gave a sweet, airy giggle and she sighed happily "Thankyou Umo, thankyou for being so kind to me" she whispers her delecate pink eyes resting lovingly upon the large male. "We should rest the night here" she looked a little flustered for a moment. She hadn't meant anything by that. She quickly cast away her doubts though and lay down quietly. The shade of a nearby tree cast it's strange patterns accross her olive and dark brown coat. Looking up at the big male Happily though she waited. She wished to sleep close to him tonight. Something told her, she had found a kindred spirit, somone who like ehr needed somone to cling to. Umo certainly fit the bill and he seemed to wish to do anything for her. Only her mother had ever done that for her, saving ehr from the dirty mire when the floods had come. This was different though. She sighed happily. They would travel back to the swamps together. Perhaps this was what the spirits had meant by change. perhaps.

Umo smiled sheepishly, digging his toe into the dirt. "You are kind too Kika. So very kind to me." He said, his ears flattening in his apparent happiness. This female was so amazing. Everything she had done so far was... the best thing that had ever happened to him. "I suppose you are right. I am very tired. " He said with a flick of his tail. Umo was dazzled by her markings and her eyes and found himself entranced by her. He flopped down, which in reality was a very precise and delicate. He ment so seem like a big burly male but.... he was trying his hardest to not bump her too hard. What a sheep in wolfs clothing. He lay, with his back to hers, his tail flicking hers. "Kika may I ask you something?"

Kika smiled, he was being so delecate, it was sweet even in her mind. Leaning up slightly she rested her chin on his maned shoulder "Anything you wish Umo" she whispers, her eyes only half open now, she was sleepy and excited for their return to the swamps. She could answer one more question though, for Umo, she would answer anything before she slept.
