Banzai was torn as he looked from one mare to the other. He couldn't allow Acacia to leave him, but he had a new aspect of his life now, and he wasn't about to let the foals leave either. He only hoped that if Acacia couldn't understand now, that perhaps she would understand in time. "Don't go." He told her. "I understand if you need to think, I don't blame you. I would want a little bit of space too, but I don't want to lose you. We can work through this. We can make this work." He told her. He was about to continue on when something wrenched his tail down.

"Ow!" He cried out in surprise and turned to see his son pulling at his tail. "Hey there little guy." He told him calmly. "That hurts a bit. Here," He said as he brought his head down to the colt's face. "Why don't you play with these instead." He said indicating the glasses on his face. He only hoped he wouldn't regret the offer.

After occupying the foal, he turned to give Acacia an apologizing look and then turned his attention to Bangil once more. "Yes I suppose we should. I'm sure we can come up with something." He told her.

Lyric watched the mares facial expression and watched her as she was about to leave. The filly didn't understand why she was so upset, she didn't understand what her being there meant, but she did want to cheer her up. Even though her brother was getting attention from her father and she wasn't, the filly wanted to make this strange mare happy. Quickly, she pranced after the mare. "Stay with us!" She called out. "I wanna play and it looks like you need to." Her words were a bit pushy but her intentions were good.

Acacia was caught, trying to make up her mind. That little, adorable face...she was looking at her so sweetly. Maybe she could stay just a little while...

But if she stayed, even if it didn't work out would she ever be able to leave. Would it even matter really? She looked back up at Banzai, and she felt her hurt lurching again. "I...I can stay for awhile little one. But then I have to go, visit my friends." Yes, that's what she would do. She would visit the ones who had been like brothers to her, and she would talk and think. And then she'd come back to Banzai, at least to talk. At least..

Zangar nearly jumped out of his skin when his father suddenly cried out and turned around, he froze for a moment as though trying to come up with an excuse for whatever it was he was about to get blamed for when his father handed over his glasses. "Neat!" He squealed, stealing a glance at his sister to make sure she wasn't about to run over and try to steal them for herself, before prancing off with them. They were far far to large for his face but Zangar didn't much care because he looked cooool...like his dad!

Bangil gave Banzai a sheepish look as Zangar yanked on his tail, they had already taken a few chunks out of her scarves so she supposed that he would jut have to learn to keep an eye on them...like she had. "Don't break those!" She warned Zangar as he pranced by with the stallions glasses on his face before glancing at Lyric - but she seemed occupied for the moment and was thankfully not getting into trouble. It seemed she had even managed to talk Acacia into staying for a bit.

"Good" Bangil told the mare "If we're going to talk this out then I"m sure Banzai would like your input as well" She told the mare before looking back to the stallion "I don't intend to split the foals up or leave them altogether - so I expect some sort of shared time between your family and mine would work well?"
PostPosted: Wed May 11, 2011 12:42 pm

Banzai nodded as Bangil spoke. He hadn't expected her to simply abandoned the foals, and he supposed that, especially now with Acacia, they weren't about to become the world's next best family. No, he held no feelings for Bangil. A part of him wished that he did, but it simply wasn't meant to be. But these foals, his foals, it didn't matter if they weren't exactly planned. He still loved them and he would be willing to do anything for them.

"I like that." He told Bangil. "Then they can meet both parts of their family." He continued on. "How would that work though? Whatever it takes, I'm willing to make it work just let me know what I need to do."

He glanced over to see Acacia and his heart warmed. She had stayed, at least for now. She would make a good mother, even if the foals weren't hers, he knew they could make it work, and he knew that one day they would have foals of their own. He knew that she just needed to figure that out for herself.

Lyric was happy to see that the mare was going to stay and play with her. Good! It was about time someone paid some attention to her! With everyone so focused on her mother and her new found father, she was beginning to feel a bit left out. "Can you sing?" She asked Acacia. "I can sing. Really well too." She bragged, then she leaned in close to the mare. "I think brother gets jealous sometimes cause he knows I sing better then he does." She told her.

Acacia blushed darkly, "No...I uhm...I don't sing. I'm not that...I just can't sing." She smiled, they really were adorable. She couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be their mother. To have little foals that looked like her and Banzai running around. Little faces that loved her, a new family.

"Oh, he does?" She leaned close to share in the little secret. "I bet you practice lots?"
PostPosted: Wed May 11, 2011 2:36 pm

"I won't, I won't!" Zangar promised his mom with a slight rolling of his eyes as he pranced around - it seemed like Lyric was busy occupying herself with that other mare and so he got to enjoy the glasses all by He made sure to keep his mother and father in between him and her though - bet not to tempt her too much - else he'd end up getting another lecture about 'sharing'...and he hated those lectures.

Bangil shifted her weight slightly as she pondered Banzai's question - she hadn't really thought that far ahead with her planning to be honest...she'd just suggested the first good option that had come to mind. "I'm...not sure, perhaps we could alternate who they spend time with...a week or so with one and a week or so with another?" Of course that would mean they would have to stay fairly close to one another - but only for so long as the children were young, once they were older and could travel farther it wouldn't be as much of a problem.

Banzai nodded in agreement with Bangil. It made sense and seemed like the obvious choice. Although he hadn't really thought about staying close to Bangil but since she likely had a family, he figured that he'd be the one doing the moving closer. He only hoped that Acacia would be ok with it. Then again, he still wasn't entirely sure how long she would stay and just how much this hurt their relationship.

"I suppose I could move a bit closer to you. I don't really have anyone except Acacia that I stay close to so it wouldn't bother me any. Are you staying with your family right now?" Banzai wasn't sure if the mare had ever really talked about them or not. I mean, it wasn't like they'd really gotten to know each other a whole lot or anything. That hadn't really been his style back then.

Lyric beamed up at the mare with pride. "Of course I do!" She told her proudly, glad to have someone paying attention to her. "I practice every day. And I'm good too." The little filly pranced around the mare and broke out into a slightly off key song. It wasn't horrible, but she certainly had a long ways to go to being anything amazing.

"See?" She said as she paused in her singing. "I told you I'm good." She continued on with a grin.

Acacia smiled at Lyric. Her voice was lovely for someone of her age, "That was amazing." She gushed it out, "And you'll be even better when you're older."

When she was older. Would she be here to see it? She wanted to. But was it right for her to walk into this ready made family, an outsider? More than anything she wanted to stay, to be with Banzai forever. But they hadn't really talked about that. Maybe at the end of this day they could...

But she would go visit Arden and Bedford, talk to them. They were the closest thing to family that she had. Hopefully, Banzai would understand that she needed time. But that she'd come back, because...she couldn't walk away. No matter if she wanted to, she really couldn't just walk away.

"Shouldn't you ask her if she'd like to move?" Bangil asked rather hesitantly, it wasn't any of her business really but surely the mare had friends nearby or family or something. Or maybe not - who was she to judge on that really. "But yes I've been staying with Jarita and Eversong for the most part" She answered his earlier question - Jarita, her mate and Jarita's mother were the closest family she had at the moment. Her father and his wandering ways always made him hard to keep up with - and certainly not the proper environment for foals and her mother refused to leave her swamp.

Zangar had meanwhile grown bored with the glasses and dropped them on the ground, trotting around to see what his sister was up to...and laying his ears back slightly as she sang, making a face. "Ugh Lyric! Stop making all that noise!" He told her. In all honestly she wasn't that bad - but what was he here for if it wasn't to torment his sister from time to time?

Banzai carefully thought over Bangil's words. He knew that Acacia didn't have any family left except for her sister. But then again, who knew if her sister was even alive any more either? For Acacia's sake, Banzai hoped that she was, and he would do anything that he could to find the mare, but as time passed, his hope was dwindling. Still though, it had been insensitive of him to even think about moving without considering her thoughts on the manner. He cursed his oversight and turned towards the mare.

"Forgive me, I should have asked you first. What do you think about moving closer? It would really only be for a short time and I'd like for you to go with me. I know all of this is so sudden and if you want to think about it I understand." Banzai hoped that she would come with him, but he knew he couldn't force her to come, even if he had the desire to.

Lyric puffed up with pride at Acacia's words. "I will wont I?" She glared at her brother as she spoke. "At least someone appreciates my talent around here." She pranced around the mare for a moment before bursting into song again.

For a moment, Acacia's didn't know what to say. She wanted Banzai to ask her to stay, to go with him. She'd follow him anywhere. But he had overlooked her, not intentionally...but would things change like that? Hi children were important, she knew that. But she hadn't had him for long--never really had him to herself but for a few days. Would it really be that horrible to wish she'd had more time with him? Or at least more time to think?

She loved him, she really did. She wanted to stay and have a family with him. But how have things already changed? True, she has no family no where else to go...but Arden and Bedford to deserved to know whatever her decision was. Her voice came out softly, "I'd like to go with you. But...I have to talk to Bedford and Arden first. I just need, a little time. Just a few days." Her eyes met Banzai's hoping he'd understand.

Her voice cracked a a moment, "Of course you will, he'll understand one day."

Bangil waited patiently for the two to discuss things privately among themselves while she turned her attention to her foals. "Zangar stop tormenting your sister" She chastised to colt before turning back to the others. She had not heard the mares answer but she imagined that regardless of what it had been a few days might be needed for everyone to get things all in order.

"Why don't I and the foals let you guys talk things through for a little bit, we can stay around for a little while at the very least - give the foals a bit of time to rest before we try to make the trip home"

Zngar huffed slightly as his mother chastised him but rather then argue it merely ducked his head nd issued a quiet 'Yes mama" before wandering off to find something else to play with for a little while. His dispirited look vanished almost as quickly as it had come however and it wasn't long before he'd found something to occupy himself with...chasing a frog through the grass, squealing in delight every time it jumped.

Banzai felt Acacia's words like a stab of pain ripping through his soul. He knew that she needed time, he understood that. He also understood that she had other family she should discuss things with too. Even knowing all of this, he still felt pained by her words. Even though he couldn't blame her, Banzai was afraid that he might lose her. Sure she might take a couple of days, but what if she took longer? What if her friends convinced her to stay? What if she never came back to him? Maybe he could convince her to stay? Or perhaps force her somehow. No! He would not think like that. No matter how badly he needed her, no matter how much he wanted her to say, he would never take away her choice. Whatever Acacia decided to do, she needed to do so without his influence. Even if it ended in their parting ways.

"I understand." He told the mare, trying not to let his grief show through. "Things have kind of moved along pretty fast here. It is a lot to take in all at once and not something to rush into. I want you to be completely happy with your choice. Come back to me when you are ready." He told her softly.

Turning back to Bangil and the foals, he spoke once more. "And thank you Bangil, I appreciate you allowing us a bit of space. I understand that this isn't easy on you either and I want you to know that I won't abandon the foals. Even if I've been rather... unreliable in the past. Whatever you might need from me, I'll try to do my best to give it if it is in my power." He turned back to Acacia then, awaiting her response.

The little filly stood beside the larger mare a moment before turning and making her way back to her mother. The adults were being boring and she wanted no part in their long conversations. Whatever it is that they were talking about, she didn't care for it in the least. Catching sight of her brother, Lyric bounded over to Zangar to see what it was that he had found.

Acacia's very heart felt heavy. What was she doing really? She loved him desperately, desperately. Wasn't that enough? Did she really need to think? But some part of her said she did. She needed to think and make sure that this was what she wanted.

I love him though.

But it's not been enough time.

Heart versus mind. Over and over echoing in her head.

"I'll be back in a fortnight. I promise," she nuzzled him gently before disappearing into the wind.

Bangil watched as the mare left, giving an apologetic look towards Banzai afterwards -s he certainly hadn't meant to show up and cause him and his new mate any troubles - but she'd also wanted her foals to know their father. She supposed that some things just couldn't be helped and hopefully Acacia would work through what it was she needed to in order to come to terms with all of this.

"I know you won't" She assured Banzai - and she was, sure he hadn't stuck around for her - but then neither of them had really been looking for that sort of thing, she was sure that he would be there for the foals however. "I only hope we haven't caused to many problems for you" She went on "The foals and I will stay in the copse of trees a way's back for a few days, let you and Acacia work things out" She told him before turning to call the foals back to her and try to herd them back towards the shelter of the trees.

Zangar looked up as his sister bounded over, and he was about to tell her what he had found when their mother called them back. He poked hte frog one more time, giggling in foalish delight before turning and running back towards thier mother "going to beat you!" He shouted back to his sister.
