[Insert stupid Chris Hanson joke here.] Actually, I do have something to say that might be worth discussing. I've never been to jail, nor have I ever had any run ins with Johnny-Law, but I do advocate human rights where I can. Did you know that in a lot of places owning a sexually explicit depiction (even in the form of a drawing) that contains obviously underage characters is something that people have gone to prison for in the past, in the United States? Think about that for a moment. Now child pornography is illegal with very good reason. Children should not be forced or coerced into sexual acts. I don't think that many people would disagree with that, so I won't bother to explain my reasoning, but in the creation of a drawing, there is no victim, no one is hurt, no one is traumatized. What I am against the criminalization of behavior that doesn't have a victim... And as an artist, it makes me sick that I live in a country where I feel that there is anything, anything at all, that I am afraid to draw (whether I would otherwise draw it or not). This goes beyond censorship, if you ask me. On to the human rights area, it is my understanding that sex offenders have to go and tell all of their new neighbors that they are sex offenders. It seems to me like it's not enough to slap "Sex offender" on their record that will come up on their background check (which will pretty well assure that they're never hired anywhere) but it forces them, under penalty of law, to habitually humiliate themselves. How this ties together is that I'm pretty sure that someone put away for any such artwork would probably also be tagged as a sex offender. To be clear, I am against laws such as listed above, I am against the incarceration of victimless criminals, and I am against sites like this that associate serial child-rapists with people that collect art that has been governmentally deemed unacceptable in some states. For the record, I avoid any such thing as above like the plague. I'm making this argument for artistic freedom for all, not so that I can look at unusual porn. :/

For the record, I avoid any such thing as above like the plague. I'm making this argument for artistic freedom for all, not so that I can look at unusual porn. :/ It is a shame that you can go to prison for child nudity via artwork. I do, however, think drawing child pornography(hentai or whatever), as well as when it's animated into videos, is wrong, because it can encourage sexual acts and can fuel sexual desires towards children. But as for.. a painting of a family in.. hell, Germany, and they just happen to be naked in the park or something not provocative, yes, I don't think you should go to jail for such art.
There are many ways to get the title of sexual offender. You could've been under the influence of something, and streaked with children near at 12 AM and been deemed a child predator. I don't think these people should have to go through with telling their neighbors. No one gotr hurt, and I highly doubt that you'd be traumatized for life for seeing someone naked.. I've seen me mom naked my whole life, and yeah, it's my mom, but nonetheless it's my mom walking around the house naked to this day. As a kid, I just said thoguht 'You should put some clothes on'. I wasn't old enough to know anything deeper. By the time you know about sex and human genitalia, I highly think that you would be scarred from seeing a naked man/woman running down your street. BUT, for people who have preyed on children for months.. YEARS before sexually and physically attacking them, even killing them, raping them, doing unspeakable things to someone so defenseless.. THEY scar people for the rest of their life. I think they still should have rights, but I feel they need to trell their neighbors and such. Just because they're monitored and have the label of child predator, does not mean they'll give up their.. ways. For some, maybe, but others, no. If there was a man/woman living on the same street as me who had contemplated sexual battery on a child under 12, and I had a child who walked past their house to my house after school daily, I would move if I knew. It's risky. Most people don't think to check, so them telling you is good in my opinion.
Do I think ALL sexual offenders need to do this? No. But some I think it's very important. If they're humiliated, they shouldn't have done it in the first place.
Bleh, rereading this, it makes me seem mad at your post.. I'm not. Sorry it it sounds like that. c:

I didn't read it with any anger of tone. It was really just all point/counterpoint, just as any other two mature adults having an exchange of ideas. I don't agree with you. Even if it is highly erotocized, I deeply disagree with the illegality of any art that doesn't hurt anyone and I believe that I always will. I don't want to derail the topic any further. Really, a debate on this belongs elsewhere (ED&D most likely) so I'm willing to put it to bed. It was just something that I felt I should share.

It was actually half way on topic. c: I didn't think of it like that, and I'm guessing most people with 500-1k of predators in their town think that they're all child rapists and such, when you can get in trouble for something as simple as drawing a naked child and such. Did you even look up your town/area's numbers, or are you totally against knowing? xP
