"Stop WORRYING so much." He scolded. "I'm counting because I don't have a bank card..." He scolded, it was only part true but she didn't need to know that. "You can't wear sandals to school and your going to need a uniform too, so just... yeah.... chill, find some things you like and we can price it out from there."
He grabbed a pair of shoes that looked small enough, maybe... miss matched converse but if they ever had a 'right' pair they were long separated.
"Here... try them, leave your socks on though I don't know if they were washed."

"Then you stop worrying about me too!" She snipped back, tears forming in the corners of her eyes as she looked at Zac. "I will chill only if you do. " Looking over at the shoes he grabbed, she examined them too. Slipping them on she noticed that they were slightly lose, but not enough to fall off. They were comfortable.
"They fit..." Clicking the heels of the shoes together, she actually decided she liked them being mix matched.
"We should find you something too."

Zac looked affronted at her snip in return...then just wide eyed and panicked when he noticed the tears forming. "Nnn.... I'll try! Shh shh...ok? Shhh..." He said waving his hands to calm her. "No crying!" he added in hushed tones trying to prevent a scene.
"I'm ok... I just pulled money for you today alright?" he said stooping to poke at the ends of her shoes to see that they really did fit and not just that they fit on her feet. "Wiggle your toes..." He said remembering what he had always been told to do.
"You should walk around in them too alright?" He said glancing up.

"Trying works." She gave a smile and wiped the tears away. The only marks left now were her eyes turning a puffy pink, clearly indicating she was not fake crying.
Wiggling her toes for a moment, she nodded once before stepping back, and walking around rather stiff for a second. Then... she jumped and skipped around like a little girl. Nearly tripping over the pants again was when she decided it might be time to stop.
"Uumm... well they dont hurt! I guess thats.. a good thing?"
Turning around she made a grab for the basket he was holding filled with her items, and placed the shoes to the side as she took them off.

"...All you need are rainbow socks..." he laughed softly thinking of all her colors, but the smile wavered as he thought of alien worlds with bridges made of light... rainbows, prisms.
"A few more things ok? Then we can go... a pair of pants maybe, something to sleep in.... bath robe...." He waved his hand slight.y and thought, one day he should get her nicer things.
It was oddly like dressing a doll but... at the same time she was like a child. He tried not to let the worry show on his face, didn't dare let it show as he helped her sort through the bluejeans for something durable in the right length.

She set out looking for pants too in that size, when a girlish look came over her features.
"ZAAACC you should get this!" She called out and pulled something baby blue out if the rack of blue jeans. Like a usual thrift store... things were in the wrong place, placed there by customers decided they didnt want things and too lazy to put them back. And oddly enough, a bath robe was here and calling to him. Why? It was baby blue and had a panda face on the back, and little ones on the sleeves. Plus the zipper had a adorable little matching panda charm....
"you need this! It screams you..."

"A...er.... um....Nnnnnn I... I have a bathrobe...but, thank you..." He said trying not to look stricken at the idea of wearing baby blue panda faces around school.
"It... it would just be...ruined if um... If I had it at Hillworth, but I appreciate the thought."
Of course part of him was praying, that she NEVER told Ever about it. Somehow he thought he'd never hear the end of it.

"Awh really? .... Private schools that bad?" Her eyebrows drew together as she wondered. "It would have looked so cute on you too... are you suure?" The look on his face said it all though, he looked horrified at the idea. Sighing, she put it back on the rack where the found it. Even if it was in the wrong spot, it was where the found it... maybe someone was trying to hide it.
Blinking she picked up a pair of jeans. They were simple but had a little pattern on the back pockets. "These are my size." She pressed them against herself, wondering if she should try them on too. They seemed to be around her size.
"I think we are good with just these things."

"It's not that its a private school..." He admitted relaxing slightly "It... its just that it's an all boys school. Machismo and all that...I appreciate the thought though!" He added hastily trying to make her worry less.
"Do you want to try those on to be sure? My mother always complained about inconsistent fits on girl-pants."

Nodding she went into the dressing room once more, and emerged with them on. "They fit around the hips but are a little baggy otherwise. Comfortable i guess? No threat of falling off..."
Back out of the dressing room with them off and back in his clothing, she put them into the basket with a blush and nod of thanks.
Only a second later, did she bring up something she was wondering based on his reaction to the robe.
"So wait, you liked the robe based on your reaction... but you wont wear it. Are the other boys pick on you?" What was at least what she took out of their conversation. It sounded like he was trying to not have attention pulled to himself, understandable if he was getting picked on.
But it made her upset. She had not really felt this before... protective.

"It's.. just a bit young for... the dorms." He said with a shrug. "Don't worry about it, I might -fit- it well but that doesn't mean I can get away with wearing it, girls get more leeway on that front."
He stuffed his hands in his pockets trying to look casual and unbothered by the reasons to turn away the robe, no matter its prominent panda placement. Or perhaps, because of that... hard to say.
"Let's get you some new shoes..."

"No new shoes... these will do."
The pair of them walked towards the front counter, where Zac paid for the items with the cash he had on hand. Sabine grabbed the bag and held on to it with her free hand, not really caring what odd looks she got from still holding the stuffed animal red panda in the other.
