He gave a short bark of a laugh, ducking his head to try and hide the wide smile that cracked across his face. Even trying to stifle it to answer wasn't terribly successful.
"...Defiantly the latter." he chuckled. "Shoulda made that sandwich faster..." He shook his head and took a more serious look. "You still look like hell, like you don't eat enough, I thought for sure they'd stuff you here till you couldn't look at pasta or steamed vegetables again."
"You look kind of like that dude from the Machinist, not being an insomniac are you?"

Oh, the laughter hurt, made him flinch around the eyes, but Ever fought to keep down his reaction. Zac laughing was probably a good thing right now. Besides, Ever about survived on other peoples' good humor, didn't he?
Shaking his head a little, he turned on the sink and ducked his head down under, working fingers through his hair, trying to tame it. A valiant effort, but entirely hopeless. Oh well. "I sleep plenty, and I...she'd probably feed me more if I didn't spend so much effort sneaking in around her."
Ever had not yet met the niece, or daughter, or whatever it was. He wanted to keep it that way. He shook away water, turning off the sink. "How long will your sister need a place to stay? And just how amnesiac is she?"

Zac watched him, a quiet watching that lacked some of the surgical sharpness it normally held. Just a watch, not an analysis this time as he tried to tame the shock of white hair.
The smile fell slowly from his face, melting away to that same old regret as he leaned his shoulder and head against the door frame.
"I don't know... I don't know... she can't... she remembers her name, not me... not Scheelite... she just remembers "Sailor Lyra", not even Beth." He shook his head very slightly and spoke on in the same quiet empty tone.
"... I think Alkaid remembers more about her Senshi life, but nothing about who she was as a civilian, something the Senshi magic does to... destroy that part of them." He sounded miserable.
"... must be something more we can do about your hangover..."

"Take me out for breakfast." It was mid-afternoon. Ever didn't care. He snagged his towel off of the toilet seat and then hesitated. It took him a moment to gather up the energy [or guts] to nudge Zac back a step so he could escape out of the bathroom and start hunting down his shoes. Oddly flustered.
"And you can tell me what I'm supposed to do. You know. Does she remember to eat?" He flicked a look up at Zac, adjusting duct tape across one toe before starting to pull on hi boots. "How old is she? Going to school? And Beth, or Sabine, or Lyra, or....and should I stay in uniform?"

"Um... we have to get her these...bracelets to suppress her power, they can't power down either but you can be in and out of uniform, you can be civi around her you just... you can't call her Beth, you call her Sabine, it's her new name. Sabine Alexandra Moss... I got it from a Book don't laugh..." He rubbed the back of his neck and thought. "... I ... I had Dem bring her food so I think she knows to eat and all that, its just...people, faces... Like Alkaid knows how to read and things."
"Is um... Benny's alright?" He offered, they at least had breakfast all day and he trusted it more than the "Tumble In Dinner" with its eternal coffee and runny eggs that he suspected came from a milk jug rather than a chicken.
"I'm...working out where to send her to school, I'm thinking St. Magdalina's so that she'll have a fresh start, and she's um...Her birthday is a few days after mine but I think I have to...give her a new one too so she doesn't have any bad flash backs."

Ever fumbled with the frayed ends of his shoelaces and huffed out a breath, annoyed. He should invest in new ones. For now he tied them off as best he could and spread duct tape across the junction to keep it in place. It'd serve. He couldn't run, but it'd serve. If he needed to run, he'd just...well...change.
Instead of standing immediately, he sat on the floor a minute longer, tugging a scab from the edge of his palm and watching Zac thoughtfully. "I can walk her, too...I guess?"

"She's not a dog..." he said with the same kind of bristle that came up when Zac had once mentioned Ever's own Sister but he pushed it down again, clenching and unclenching his hand
"We'll show her the way to the school and make sure she knows it... I.. I don't think they have Dorms or I'd use that... but it might be better for her to be with someone."
He stared at the hobbles of leather and silver-tape. "We gotta get you new boots..." He said shaking his head.

Ever shrugged it off, finally fumbling up to stand, swiping at his rear and ignoring the fact that he'd slept in these clothes and probably worn them for over twenty-four hours, at this point. Oh well. They mostly smelled like smoke and lingering vodka, nothing too terribly offensive.
"That's what I meant, Zac. I'll walk with her to school, not like I have anything better to do." He leaned out to snatch his cell off the bedside table and tuck it into one pocket before going for his coat. He still wobbled. Swayed. Missed. Not graceful.
"When'll you bring her here?" Not today, I'm guessing? Does she need..time...or...I don't know?"

"...oh..." He said sounding rather embarrassed and deflated. "T...that'd be great...thanks. Um... She's kinda bruised up right now, I think... I might wait till that fades so you don't both look like Domestic violence victims." He said clearing his throat.
He hesitantly offered an arm to Ever and his swaying wavering walk. "Put you in a Jack Sparrow costume people'd go nuts..." He teased before remembering that the joke was probably lost on Ever.

At least Ever was used to it; it got a blink, a little puzzled, before he caught himself and shrugged it off. He might not be quite sure who Jack Sparrow was, but saying 'who' wasn't helpful. Much smarter to just go with it. He tugged his jacket on.
"People, or women?" He made a little face at Zac, as if the very idea was somewhat unpleasant, and then moved toward the door, checking his pockets to see just how much cash he has. "I'll clean up later. And we can get a sleeping bag for me, or something."

"Maybe I should just show you the movie some time and let you decide." He said with a small shrug. Safer than nominating genders or gambling on what Ever might find appealing outside of green eyes.
"... was the face about women then? I suppose I should be glad you don't -scream- about boobs the way Schee does.... I um... I didn't ask how the training went either.. was it alright?"

"He's adorable." It came with a sideways look that said much more than Ever probably intended. He started to add something onto that, too, his mouth shifting and then closing, and Ever quickly occupying himself by sticking the rest of the cash down into his pocket and reached for the door.
"I'm mostly planning on not fighting too much if I can help it, though." He held it for Zac, leaning against the door frame and closing his eyes. It was brighter in the hallway. Afternoon. This was definitely going to suck, the sun like daggers into his brain. "Don't know how useful that makes me..."

"He says to the General best known for non-confrontation, when the senshi point out that you spend more time diffusing or confusing the situation than fighting you might be known as a non fighter." he said dryly trying to ignore the referral to Demy as "Adorable"
"Should we pick you up Shades?" he quipped meaning the corner market and their well finger printed cheep plastic shades, functional but in some cases so long forgotten that you could only hope they might come back into style as 'retro' and pray that the sun hadn't burned the countless fingerprints into a permanent part of the lenses.
"Besides you're smart... even if you think Scheelite is adorable." he quipped.

"Apparently..." Ever paused to look at the glasses, drawing out the moment, picking out a rather pink pair to perch them on the end of the nose. Made him look like a douche more than anything else, really, and they didn't cover up any of the bruising,
"...you think so too." It came with a grin that was certainly supposed to be teasing, good humor, but came across unexpectantly hesitant. He tipped his head to the side, watching Zac. "Or so I hear, anyway."

Zac's eyes widened, shock made his face an utter blank and the color actually drained from his face for a moment before harsh points of pink returned to his cheeks and his eyes narrowed sharply.
"Oh DO you hear that then..." He said through gritted teeth. "And Just what -ELSE- did you hear..." He asked trying to force casual back into his voice but it sounded tense all the same. He pulled out an oversized pair of black shades and shoved them at ever...way oversized.
