It was awesome pretty much having everything she needed to type already written. Less brain power required. Just read and type what she read. It honestly didn't take too long for her to finish up that part of the project.

When Max spoke up, the blonde offered a reassuring "Yeah... almoooooost...." She glanced over to the poster board for a moment, then back to the screen.

"So... do ya got like... lots'a red pens or paints or whatever...? I'll probably need that fer decoratin' that sh*t." Since it was such an "uplifting" scene, it needed to be decorated accordingly. Blood bath font would be amazing.

They were decorating the poster? Ridley pouted from her seat, her shoulders slumping; her homework was so not as cool. And she was clearly not in the presence of the type of project partner that would allow her to have in on the fun as well - some of Max and Conner's classmates would, rarely but sometimes.

And for a moment, she thought maybe.. just maybe. Ridley spun in her chair to face the table that held the pristine poster board in all its glory. Her orange eyes gleamed at it while her little hands still held her own pieces of paper.

Max was going through some of the drawers in the cubbies, looking for anything that was of red paint-like material. "We've got to have something here..." he mumbled, mostly to himself.

"Max, I need help!" Ridley piped up, pointedly ignoring Ellie and if she would say anything.

"I'll help you in a second." Her brother replied, finally finding a few jumbo red sharpies. He placed them on the table behind him, the rest of himself still facing the cubbies as he still searched. "And no, that doesn't mean you're helping with this... you're in enough trouble."

By the time the red pens had been located, she had finished typing up the last bit of her part and was in the process of saving. Ellie wasn't a nerd and didn't know the simple shortcut of Control + S. Instead she had to use the mouse to click File, then Save.

"Computer's all yers now..." she said as she pushed her chair out, then lifted herself up into standing again. "Oh sh*t... that's perfect! Jus' what I needed!" The blonde grinned and quite quickly snatched up one of the jumbo sharpies.

"This'll be pretty damned sweet!" In preparation, she loomed over the poster board, tugging at the corner of it to straighten it out on the desk slightly. However, she paused in step as she caught something her classmate had mentioned.

"OOoooooooooohhhh... so she wants t'help out?" She turned to face the child with her grin. "Ya know... if ya had finished yer homework... ya could'a helped out... maybe if ya finish it..." Her voice drifted off in a nearly teasing manner.

Max mumbled a thanks to Ellie, picking up a few of his notes to toss near the computer. He would eventually get to writing all that up, there was just the matter of how much room they would have. "Try not to make everything so big, we still need to space things out and have the actual information." He explained to Ellie, especially with her eyeing the red paint products he had produced.

He then shot his sister a look as she took was glaring at Ellie in a defiant manner. "She likes to help on these, when they involve art-y things."

"I would finish this stupid homework, if I could understand it." Ridley huffed, almost puffing her cheeks like jigglypuff did when it was angry. Math was hard, didn't Ellie know what?! "Maaaax ~" The little girl pouted, holding up her sheet where majority of the offending problems resided.

"I'll help you with a few of them," Her brother sighed, making his way around the desk to where his sister was.

"Have at." He nodded to Ellie with a head tilt towards the posterboard.

With red pen at hand, Ellie began to letter in the Act and Scene numbers onto the poster board. If she had been a more careful person, she might have used a pencil to at least ghost in where she was putting everything. However, the only time she'd get that a**l was when it had to deal with something mechanical. With metal and tools, you needed exacts. With something like an English Project poster, it was definitely more "go with the flow."

When the kid complained yet again, Ellie pointed out something her own parents had pointed out back when she was a kid as well.

"Teachers don't jus' give brand new material fer homework." The underlying meaning simply being that Ridley should have already been taught how to do this if she had been paying attention in class. Considering how the child lacked in the paying attention department right now, odds were stacking up that Ridley was seriously ADD or ADHD, whichever one meant they had too much energy.

Now that the words were on the poster board, the blonde went to making it more artistically gory. She had to thicken up the letters so they were squarish versions of bubble letters, and then the blood fest could begin!

Max was trying his hardest to explain one of the problems his sister was having trouble with without the use of visual aids. Those were usually what helped her get the gist of how to solve problems. But with Ellie taking over the table and filling the air with the scent of permanent marker... it was a little difficult. But, Ridley was making at least a little progress on the word problems. "Don't worry about these ones over here, thats not important in this one." He explained to her in a low voice.

But then she popped her head out from their little circle of problem solving and he grumbled. "Duh!" Ridley stated with an exasperated sigh. "But copying it doesn't make me learn it." They had tried that one years ago, it didn't help.

"Ridley, you wanna finish this or not?" Max eyed his little sister. His finger was still on a few of the words, where they had left off. He tapped at them to emphasize his point.

"Sorry," she mumbled, pulling back into the huddle. Her pencil went back to work, writing down the formula as Max explained how to write it.

From where Ellie was sitting, she couldn't help but hear the complaints coming from the child. And she couldn't help but smirk.

"Dude... yer doin' her homework for her? What's th'matter? Didn't get enough of th'second grade th'first time 'round?" She was snickering, but it was mostly at his expense, not at the child's.

Not like Ridley would have known the difference.

The word ACT had been officially blocked out, which was good enough to Ellie. Letting those creative juices flow now, she began to line in some bloody drips from the letters.

Max ignored Ellie for the most part, running his fingers along a few more problems and reading them aloud to his little sister in hopes she would get a little more of what she had to do to solve it. "Always helps to read it aloud a litte, but not too much or you'll bother people." Which was asking a lot of his sister really. "Try the next few on your own."

By that time, Ridley had managed to sneak another peek at Ellie to shoot her a glare. So mean! But she turned back to her work, mouthing the words of the problem while her brother slide past her and towards the computer to type up his part of the poster.

"Do you think we should make these sections really big or small to just let the title.. dominate the whole thing?" Was he taking a jab at her huge title? Yes, yes he was.

Ellie was grinning at Max when he attempted that jab. It wasn't a good sign that the blonde was grinning after such a blatant jab.

"Ya know, I could always go bigger if ya want... all ya gotta do is say so!" Teasingly, she hovered the red pen over a section down towards the middle of the board, hinting that she'd make the title half the size of the posterboard if he was going to keep up his whining.

"Jus... like... this..." It was no longer a tease, for the pen dipped down onto the board, leaving a rather noteable red mark in the middle. She was honestly being a big jerk right now, for she actually had a plan for the decoration for the poster, but she wasn't about to let him know right now. Let Max squirm for a bit.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 15, 2011 8:06 pm

Squirming was not what she was going to be getting. Max narrowed his eyes as he opened the word document and scrolled to the font sizes. "Darn, I'm just going to have to cover all your lovely work up with printed text now, aren't I..." His finger clicked against the roof his mouth as he began typing with words even too gigantic to him.

Ridley, for the moment was staring at the two teens with a raised eyebrow.

There was no fuss on her part. She could afford a C. In fact, a C would have been a decent grade for Ellie to get in an English class. She suspected it was a completely different case for Max.

"Well, as long as ya can see my work that I printed out already, I don't really care. Jus' make sure ya get everything typed out." There was a momentary seriousness to her tone as she added "Don't worry... I know what I'm doin'!"

She was about to set back to work on the letters before she caught the child seeming to look away from her homework again. "Hey, kid... shouldn't ya be workin' on that stuff?" With a finger, she pointed towards the general vicinity of the math.

Max hummed, it wasn't out of agreement or even annoyance about how Ellie had tried to reassure him. Probably one of indifference, but he was also staring at the screen and down to his notes, just typing away. His part to write up was obviously a lot more than his, she had set it up that way after all. And he'd be damned if they didn't get anything better than B. He needed a better grade, where she could care less.

Which was probably all the better he was writing up more...

"Well, yeah." Ridley shrugged, covering up her initial flustered response. She had no intention of getting caught not doing her work, least by Ellie. "You were.. talking oddly," she commented before spinning back around. "And it was more interesting than math..."

Ellie had looked back down to what she had been working on and took the pen to the lettering again. Unlike the kid, she could work and talk at the same time. What a novel concept! Sure, her work wasn't exactly brain surgery, but that wasn't the point.

"...Well, they call what ya were jus' doin' eavesdroppin'. Seriously don't get what all yer fuss is 'bout math. Don't teachers jus' grade homework on completion at yer age? Not 'bout how correct sh*t is an' what-not?" As she drew out another long red drip, her shoulders rolled into a shrug, not even bothering to look at Ridley's reaction to her words.

"Jus' means yer like most girls when it comes to math!" It was a casual observation on Ellie's part, and probably a very sexist one at that. However, she had heard enough b*tching from fellow female classmates about how hard math was. Oh boo hoo, math was impossible! Where as English was one of her worst subjects, Math was easily one of her easier subjects (Autoshop always won out as the BEST subject though). The tomboy never got it, and never planned to get why so many girls complained when it came to math. Even this runty little kid of a girl.

Ridley, multi-task? Ahaha, oh Ellie, what a novel concept indeed. The small child really only could focus on one thing at a time. And at this moment, like most of the day, it was on Ellie Spectre.

"Its kind of hard not to when you're right there..." Wasn't it obvious? Two people having a conversation in the room where she sat, it would be hard not to hear what they were talking about. Ridley did one rotation in her chair as she explained the obvious to Ellie, "and I have to get it so I can do the tests all right." If there were no tests, it would be cake but alas that wasn't the world they lived in.

"Most girls don't like math?" Ridley had never encountered that before. A lot of her table mates seemed to understand what they were being taught, she never heard them complain though. Huh, interesting, she thought as she spun around again.

"Wait til ya get t'high school an' see how many girls truly can say they 'like' math." It was a good thing Ellie seemed pretty absorbed in her momentary work as she spoke, because she couldn't see how the child was just spinning in her chair like someone from Procrastinator Land (where everything is done "tomorrow"). There was a vague hint of the child's current activities by sound, but it wasn't enough to make the blonde turn to pay attention.

"So what th'hell are ya workin' on that's so difficult anyways? Subtraction? Multiplication? Division?"
