I think he kind is a wolf/cat... kind of. Actually more of a wolf to me. (i LUV wolves.) but i think he kind of is wolf/cat.

He's a little bit of everything.
He has tiger like characteristcs but also-

When he's in the canyon where is father was pertified at, he howls.
Howling is how wolves communitcate!
Even if it was in anguish over tears somehow falling from the stone, it still a howl!

Although he has the movement of a cat, he does have the viciousness of a wolf. After some thought, have to say that it's a dog/wolf instead of a tiger only because his dad looked like a wolf.

Red XIII, Nanaki, or in my case, Red Dog XL, is most definantly a dog/wolf type organism. I mean, first time I saw him I named him Red Dog XL. Dog in the name for chirssakes.
