Clear indeed. Jasper's ear flicked as he fought back laughter. "And one such as I would not be considered a threat to this... young blood," he said, emphasizing a few key syllables with a humourous tone. "Clever indeed."
Rising to his paws with a lazy twitch of his tail, the fox tilted his head, regarding Rorret with that same amused look. "Any particular direction I should prowl about first?"

"Wherever your heart desires," he said, grinning. How fortunate that the fox would be both useful and clever.
Later, he would have other tasks for him. Much more dangerous and rewarding tasks. But for now...let him assist with this quest, and see where things took them. "Breathe not a word of your purpose. If you do, it will come back to me, and I will see your skin on my back."
Now, wouldn't that be a sight to behold.
"Now -- I must be back to prepare for the hunt. Swing by later this night and I will have the sweetest meat imaginable for you to share, if you like."

"And wouldn't you look so fearsome with my skin decorating your coat," the fox retorted, snorting laughter as he strolled a few paces away. An ear flicked back at the offer of food, and he merely chuckled.
Difficult, perhaps, for one of such... striking colouring to vanish so abruptly, but Jasper had not survived to maturity by standing out unnecessarily. With a soft whiff of the air to remember Rorret's particular scent, he bounded into the brush, vanishing neatly into the growth.
