William glanced over the girl, noting her tense posture and how she didn't come all the way into the room. Instantly on guard, he unobtrusively examined her face, feeling like he had met her before. A spark of recognition nearly made him react, but he covered it by looking back to James and beconing them both in.

James nudged Gina away from the door and stepped inside, closing it firmly behind him. Noting the captain's silent message, he glanced to wards the window along the back wall, where a small fountain rested, the usual trickle of water absent. His eyebrows rose and he looked at Gina, shifting a little to be ready for any sign of attack.

William stood, moving around the desk, and staring at Gina. "Well look at this. Come to pay another visit? I'm flattered." He smirked, one hand resting on the hilt of his cutlass, the other loose by his side.

Mae allowed herself to be nudged in the room, however, she stayed close to the door. Until the captian opened his big mouth. Shew knew she should have done something more, but she wasn't conting on actually being face to face with him. Mae moved away from The Hornet and more to the center of the room, noting how the Captian's hand was on his sword already. "You recognized my face? I'm flattered." Mae shot back, her eyes narrowing a bit. "You get ready to attack me so soon? Do you honestly veiw me as so much of a threat to have both of you in here, and you already on your guard? I'm touched, really, I am." Mae kept her chin tilted up defiantly, her eyes sharp. Mae reached up, pulling her hair tie out and slipping it around her wrist, her hair falling down across her back. She longed for her hat, but she figured that if she reached into her bag they would both try to stab her through the heart or something.

William chuckled. "Merely a precaution, seeing as how you fought the last time we met." He tilted his head a little. "Is my ship so interesting to you, that you must do everything in your power to come aboard? I think I shall call you a Raven, stealing anything shiny and seeking treasures that are not yours."

User ImageThieves "Call me what you will." Mae said stubbornly. "If you think that it's going to change my actions or outlook on you, you're wrong." Mae rolled her eyes. "You two dolts don't even know my real name." Mae smirked, folding her arms and leaning on the wall.
"Anyways. Who said that I was interested? Who said I was trying to steal this time?" Mae's eyes glimmered as the words rolled off of her tongue. "Perhaps I just wanted to see how idiotic and gullible your crew was. Perhaps I just wanted to see if I could do it again. Don't you talk like you know me." Mae's brows furrowed, and if she was a dog she would have been baring her teeth. Mae reached up, her fingers sliding under her hair and her flingers tracing the long scar above her ear idoly. "I mean, really. What do you know about me that's true? Amuse me."

William shrugged, settling behind his desk once more and leaning back, arms behind his head as he watched her. James stayed by the door, silent as a statue. "Only that you are able to lie convincingly, have extensive knowledge of ships, fighting, and general nonsense, love a challenge, and have no qualms about breaking rules. And that's really all I need to know." He shrugged. "Now, as we are about to set off, I can do one of two things. Toss you off of my ship, or shut you in the brig unless you stop trying to rob me, which with your current attitude, would be until we reach shore again in Krusa."

“Hey, well. That’s better than most do.” Mae smirked a bit. “Though I don’t call it nonsense, I call it living.” Mae shrugged. “Besides. Don’t act like you aren’t totally flattered to have a woman of my stature and as feared as I on your ship.” Mae smirked. “If you think I’m some kind of backstreet robber, you’re dead wrong. Frankly, I think you would be making a big mistake in just throwing me out into the sea somewhere or locking me up. I’m of no use to you there, now am I?” Mae’s eyes sparkled. She was hatching an idea, and she thought maybe, just maybe, she could get them to buy it. Then, not only would she learn everything about the ship and the crew and the money, she could con herself into a powerful position.
Mae started to dig in her bag. “Don’t get your panties in a wad,” She said without looking up, she knew just what they were thinking. “I just need my hat. If I wanted to fight, I wouldn’t have waited this long.”

William snickered. "Hard to fear someone whose proper name I don't even know. And don't bother telling me if you're just going to lie about it, I won't believe it for a second." He considered her over the rim of his glass, sea green eyes sharp and thoughtful. "How would a thief be of use to me. I already have an able bodied crew, who are loyal to me. Why would I have use of an unknown who has already made it onto my ship twice now, and who just admitted to being something more than a backstreet thug." Noticing the rim of her hat being pulled from the bag, he twitched two fingers, signalling James to stand down, as the man had begun to reach forward, intent on disarming and pinning her.

“I don’t give my name out to anyone I don’t intend on having more than a passing dealing with.”Mae said evenly. She pulled her hat out of her bag and slit it onto her head, then resumed leaning on the wall, arms crossed. “Because if everyone knew my name. I’m easier to track.” Mae shrugged. “Don’t slam on me about not telling my name, you haven’t told me yours, either.”
Mae thought for a moment about her next move. This was like a mental game of chess. He was on the defensive, now. Questions. Why was a big tipper that he was on the defense. Mae made her next move carefully. “Because I’ve made it onto your ship twice now should be enough reason not to just brush me off like some sort of parasite.” Mae’s eyes locked onto him. “What person tries, and succeeds, in getting on your ship twice? Apparently your crew isn’t doing too hot of a job, now are they?” Mae smirked. “And the fact that I’m even offering my services to a sea dog like yourself that hides behind his special abilities and crew that is much larger but still can’t seem to outwit a simple street girl like I is beyond even my comprehension. But here I am. Why would you pass up such a golden opportunity, eh?” Mae felt like some sort of salesperson, but it didn’t much matter. Her argument was convincing, at least in her mind. And perhaps he would buy it, break down to it.

Leaning back, William chuckled. "I expected no less." He answered, in reference to her arguements on giving her name. "As for myself, call me Aigua, for that is all I am to you." Taking a sip of wine, he swirled the cup, watching the dark red liquid circle inside. "As for making it onto my ship, the first time, I was alone and my crew were on land. This second time you were accompanied by my first mate. It is only a credit to your ability to lie so convincingly that got you on a second time." He snorted, setting his glass aside again and tossing one leg over the arm of his chair, slouching to the side. "Hiding am I? Only to your eyes. The only time I have used my 'special abilities' was to retrieve my sword. I did not use them against you, and in fact did not detain you when you jumped ship, as I could very well have done. Again, I see no reason to accept the help of a thief, whom I highly suspect is apt to try and steal from me in the near future." He tilted his head, raising an eyebrow. "To tell the truth, I see no point in further debate."

His tactics were so infuriating. His words so clipped, like he had the last say in everything in the world. “Perhaps you didn’t detain me because you wanted to see if I could make it on a second time. You claim you could have. Could you have?” Mae challenged. She walked over to his desk, putting her palms on the surface and leaning in towards him a bit, her eyes narrowed. “I doubt it. And don’t you pin on me like I’m such a horrible person for lying, because I’m not. You act like you’ve never lied to get your way one time in your life.”
Mae stood back, she suddenly looked disgusted. She shook her head. “We all weren’t born with a silver spoon and a ship.” She said coldly, slowly. “Some of us do what we have to for survival. Not all of us have a bloody crew or people they can trust, now do we?” Gina folded her arms over her chest. “So drink your wine. You’re no better than me, you bloody pirate. Pirates are thieves. Murderers, and lawbreakers. You’re no better than the likes of me. You just are too cowardly to do it in front of everyone.”
Mae shook her head, spinning around to where Hornet was still standing in front of the door. “Move.” She said coldly. “Or I swear you’ll wish you had. I’m done with you. The whole lot of you.” Mae’s voice wasn’t joking. It was serious, dripping with venom. Her eyes were narrowed and sharp. Her hands were on her hips, close to her knives. She wasn’t kidding this time.

William narrowed his eyes, fingers twitching. "You would dare insult me on my own ship. Pirate though I am, I do have a sense of honor and decency. I do not lie unless it is necessary, kill only when my life or that of my crew is threatened, and steal to survive." He fairly growled, removing his hand from the desk, where faint watermarks remained, looking as though steam or extremely hot water had scorched the dark wood. Standing, he gestured sharply, eyes alight with irritation. Water from the fountain flew across the room, tendrils of it wrapping tightly around her wrists, elbows and legs, spreading them forcefully into an X.

User ImageThievesMae couldn't force herself out of the water bindings, her head turning and claring at the captian. "What do you call this, then?" She hissed at him. Her eyes were firece, hot. "Because you aren't protecting anyone. You're just amkign thinsg forse for when I get loose. If you wanted to avoid any fighting, you should have just told your idiot commander to move his but." Mae's wrists twisted in the water bindings fruitlessly.
Instead of fighting with steel and armor, Mae bit back with her sharp words. Her accusations, however true they may be. She hoped the scorched like the worst burn. "You think we don't? I steal only form the people who have enough!" Mae spat. "I don't steal from others like me. There's unity between us, like you claim that your crew has. You disgusting rat! Stop screaming at people who you know nothing about!" Mae kept fighting against the tendrils of water. She wanted to scream, to cry. Whether from anger or the pain of the truth, she couldn't be quite sure. "There's theive that are horrible. But I'm not one of them. So I'd appreciate it if you'd stop lumping me in with them!" Mae yelled at him.

William sneered, flicking his wrist. James opened the door, striding out in front and clearing a path through the crew while the captain followed, Mae drifting along in front of him. "I call this dealing with a loudmouthed annoyance. And if you can tell, there is no fighting. You are restrained and I am the one holding the keys, as it were." Eyes narrowed, he barked at the crew. "Pull her out to sea, fast as possible gents. I have a rat to deal with." Then disappeared below, James staying above to watch the crew. At the front of the ship, the brig sat, unusually clean for a pirate ship. Casually, he opened one of the cell doors and floated her in, picking up one of the manacles from the floor and attaching it to her leg before striding back out. Then, twitching his fingers, he released her to drop onto the thin mattress within, glaring.

"I am disinclined to listen to your chatter. Calm yourself, let us both think, and I may be willing to talk once more. Welcome to the Basilisk." Turning with those parting words, he strode off, leaving her to the sounds of creakign wood and faint shouted orders from above.

User ImageThieves Mae twisted in the water bindings. It was most frustrating. Expecially as they all stared at her as she was brought out of the room. She glared at the crew mates, wishing she could gold her arms. The yell from the Captian to take the boat out to sea felt like a kick in the stomach. She wanted out of here. Away from the idiotic crew and tempermental captian.
"You coward!" Mae yelled as he went to leave. "You're just running because you know how right I am! How much you and I are alike!" Mae let out a string of curses, then, grabbing at the chain around her leg and pullign at it. "I'll get out of here. and you'll wish you hadn't treated me so poorly." Mae hissed, digging in her bag. She produced her sword, which she laid next to her, and a pin, which she held up tirumphantly. "Suckers. We can't be too far from shore. I can swim." Mae twisted her ankle around so she could try to unlock the cuff from her ankle.

Taking his place at the helm, William scowled at the expanse of sea beyond the bay. James, standing to his left coughed lightly. "Yes?"

"The ship's ready, Captain. We can set out as soon as you give the order."

"Good, head for Wolfsbane, we can drop our annoyance there." James nodded, turning slightly and shouting the orders, while William closed his eyes, extending his senses past the ship, into the waters below. A faint tingle at his fingertips, a rush of water, and the Basilisk was moving, speeding out into the sea far quicker than any other ship should have been able to, born on a wave with trident carrying nymphs at it's prow. Within five minutes they were past the watch towers, and heading for open water. Opening his eyes once more, William took a deep breath, relaxing for the first time since they'd made port. "Ah, my lady. What wonders have you for me this time?" He mused quietly, half-lidded eyes staring out at the blue-green waters.
