Sayre slowly started to come to. She looked around and saw she was in a cave. Was she home? No. Her stuff wasn't here. She coughed a bit, then sneezed, her whole body jumped as she did. She barely lifted her head and there was a rabbit. She tried to think but her head was to cloudy. "Nn.." She groaned and shivered, she hated the feeling of being cold. She looked to the entrance and saw the male laying there. "Thank you." She could barely speak. She put her head back down. She was still scared, she never felt this way before... Was she dying?

He snarled at the 'Deava's general direction, tail flopping against the ground, ears twitching. Thank you? To hell! He was not admitting that he had done any of that for her! No way! "Shut up. It wasn't for you." He really was a nice guy, wasn't he? No matter how he tried. No matter how much he snipped, snarled, and glowered, he was a nice guy inside. Dammit, if that girl even thought he was nice he'd straight up leave the cave. He didn't need people knowing this.

It didn't matter, anyway. He was a freak. A freak with narrow yellow eyes, a black shadowy shade clinging to his body, and a twisted grin. Just a freak. He didn't deserve her thank you. He didn't deserve anything from her. He never would.

Sayre cringed from the harshness of the male. Maybe she should just leave him alone. She tried getting up, she tried ignoring the pain in a paw. She limped toward the mouth of the cave. She didn't even look at him, she was afraid it would upset him. Part of her screamed to stay, but she didn't want him upset. So she hobbled out into the jungle and headed in the direction she thought was home.

"Idiot." Jack sauntered over to the vixen, tugging on her hair. "Get back in that cave. You'll knock a tree over." He grumbled. Why? Why did he feel so guilty? Why did he want to stop her and help her? This was the best he could do, drag her all the way back in the cave and make her rest. He felt slightly stupid, but, this was the best way he could make her relax without her realizing he actually cared.

"In the cave, now."

Sayre glared daggers at the male. "No." She was done. Why should she bother being pushed around by this fox? She huffed and her tail flicked. She reminded herself who she was, and what she was. "I'm going home." With out another word to the male she left. What was she thinking? Actually having feelings for him... Ugh. Didn't she learn the first time? Apparently not.

As she made it to the dessert she found her cave. She limped in and curled up in her corner in the back of the cave.

Time skip~

It had been a day since he had seen the 'Deava, and, he found himself already regretting his choices to both frighten her off and send her away. He couldn't trust anyone, right? Though, she... she hadn't even mocked him once. He had chased off the first person not to lean away in repulsion, the very first. Other than Chrome and Aiken, of course. Those two though were broken. Aiken never showed fear, and if she was scared of Jack, well, he didn't know. And Chrome had been a kit when she met Jack.

However, right now he wished the female was around. He could use her help. He was caught in a thorn bush, his foot ensnared by vines of long thorns, digging into his leg each time he attempted to move away. No amount of curses or insults could make the thorns release him, despite his tries.

"GOD DAMMIT!"

Sayre stayed low to the desert sand. There was a deer that travel too far from the forest. Easy prey. She was about to strike but a bird flew out and spooked it. Damn... Sayre darted after the deer, which fled into back into the forest. The dear leaped over a something and disappeared. No use in chasing it now. Hmph. Sayre looked around. It just hit where she was. She shrugged. It was in the past. She probably would never see that fox again.

Jack was growing annoyed. Angry, hateful, bitter. These were the words he was experiencing. The thorns were cutting into him, reminding him of that white male he had met awhile ago with thorn markings. Punk. Now here he was, stuck in a bush he was sure he would die in.

Dammit.

Though, did his life amount to anything? No. He had scared off countless people, and once someone who had never posed a threat in the first place. He had left Chrome in the care of some stranger and left Aiken alone in a world she probably could not survive in. Jack was full of fail, and he would die a fail.

"Damn."

Sayre heard a voice. She knew that voice, she followed it and found that male tangled in a thorn bush. "Hmph." She sat down in his line of vision. And stared at the helplessness of him. There was almost a pain in her chest seeing him. She thought about helping him. She snorted as thought argued with her in her mind. With out one word she walked over to the bush and burned the necessary vines to get him loose. There. That all she had to do. He probably didn't want her help in the first place. Before he could talk she started to leave to find the deer that brought her there in the first place.

He blinked when the 'Deava approached him, ears flicking back against the skull of his head. He watched as she burned the vines, limping free and licking the blood from his fur as she began to pad off. This was his chance! He could apologize! No, wait, she didn't want anything to do with him, he could tell. She just wanted to get away.

"Did I ever ask your name?" He questioned quietly, nearly inaudible. He hoped she'd turn even though he knew the answer. He just wanted her to come back.

Sayre stopped mid step. Why would he be interested in her name. She turned her head slightly and looked at him from the corner of her eye. "Sayre." Her tail flicked, she took a deep breathe and turned around. "And you are?"

Jack moved closer, head lowering slightly, yellow eyes scanning her. "Jack." He said faintly, perhaps nervously. He didn't want her to run off, he hoped she'd stay, just a little longer. He wanted her to stay with him, she was someone he had hurt, yes, but he knew she could accept him. Right? He could trust the 'Deava, right? He hoped so.

He stepped closer, hair flopping into his face, glow lowering. "I'm...sorry...." He hissed, slightly annoyed that he for once was admitting defeat. He really wanted her to stay.

Did he just say sorry? She was speechless. "Jack." She nodded as she stated the name of the fox. She was eyeballing the male curiously. "I suppose I'm sorry as well." She took note about how his shadow changed, was she just now noticing that? She blinked at him, slightly lost in thought.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 17, 2011 6:48 pm

He noticed her glance at his shadow, glaring when she seemed to space out. Was she.... judging him? The males shadow grew, wrapping around the nearby tree's and nearly shrouding him. "Why'd you look at it like that?" He questioned. She was different, right? She had to be. No, she was staring at it.... Suddenly he wondered if the only reason she gave him eye contact and looked at him was because he looked weird, because she couldn't look away.

"That was a curious look." She looked at his eyes instead, she didn't want to offend. "I think its interesting how you can manipulate your shadow. Its unique." Like the rest of you. Sayre blushed slightly at the thought. She let out a yawn and shook her head. "If you don't want me to look then let me know."
