Nate watched her, his hands in his pockets. He frowned deeply, oddly feeling the exact same way she did at the moment. Scolded. He didn't like feeling guilty about anything, ever, and was sure he didn't really feel bad about messing with Tony.
It must have been something else. Maybe he was feeling strange because she was so upset about something he had done to someone else. Collateral damage. Wasn't that what he dealt with every time he powered up? So why did it matter so much now, accidentally upsetting someone by something he did on purpose?
That was how Danger lived.
He frowned at the complicated thoughts, then shook his head. He moved toward the door again, opening it and motioning for her to follow him with a jerk of his head.
"Come on, let's get out of here. You like coffee, right?" Maybe if they just ignored what had happened and moved on to something else, everything would fall back to feeling normal. He was not good at this kind of stuff. Upsetting people he considered friends and then wanting to move past it. He should have apologized, that's what friends did, but he wasn't that kind of guy. He just didn't know how to apologize and mean it. Or mean it, and actually say it. Something was barred, either way.
So he gave her a grin and pretended it didn't happen at all.

There was an awkward silence that followed her thoughts, and they both stood there wrestling with unpleasant thoughts until suddenly, Nate switched gears. He opened the door, wanting to go outside. And he smiled.
Castille blinked at him a couple times, and then she smiled back. Then, just like that, the strangeness of the situation was gone. Replaced with a simple "Let's get out of here." She wondered how he'd managed to do that. "Yeah. I do." And she took a step forward, then realized something. "Hold on just one minute." She said, dashing to the back of the library to where Tony was. "Uhm.." She said quietly, smiling sweetly at him as well "I just wanted to say thanks for letting me help with the books. And if it's ok, maybe I can come back and help again!"
She ran back to where Nate stood, spirits lifting. She walked out of the library and stretched, inhaling deeply. Guess her friends would have to do their math on their own today. She'd apologize, and then just copy their work.
That's what she had planned on doing anyway.
