That little piece of information couldn't be denied. As he said, it was highly unlikely they were the only team to be brought to this island, and eventually the "game" would start, which meant they couldn't just stay here forever and hope for the best, that is unless one of them has a secret death wish. Though, he did admit their colors might as well have been their death wish anyway.

"I have to agree. If we toss the robes we might as well keep them in our bags. They could be useful in some other way in the future. Bandage, blanket, maybe we could build a dummy at some point."

E-Eight frowned when E-Twelve put up a protective hold on the map. It wasn't as if he was going to steal it or anything, but if that was the way she wanted to be then fine. She could have it her way, for now anyway.

"If we do agree to send out scouts then who would be willing to go? We can't all leave the tent, now while others still haven't woken up. At least if two or three of us do a short run around we might be able to pin point where we are on the map and see from there. Best get it done before night fall anyway."

Raising a brow, E-Eight stared at E-Seven's waving gun. At least someone had a long rage weapon.

"Actually, if I remember right, bright colors sometimes attract more than they repel, unless they are known to be poisonous. I don't think any of us have that going for us."

"Good point," E-Two admitted, rolling his lurid pink jacket up and placing it in his backpack.

The question about friendly fire made him laugh a little inside-- his response was to tap his goggles.

"All our accessories are pink-- but a huge pink jacket is going to be a lot more of a target than our goggles. And I doubt the jackets-- or your leg warmers," E-Two paused to look down at the more feminine mole people's legs, "offer any protection? E-Seven has the right of it, we better keep them with us, especially if they prove useful. Or important... we don't know really anything here."

Standing up, E-Two brushed aside the tent flap.

"Great. Corn."

"Thanks." She offered the guy--at least, he sounded like a guy--a smile for answering her, though she knew that he couldn't see it from behind her mask. "I guess you can just call me IV then, since it's the only logical thing to do." Considering that everyone else was referring to each other by numbers, she figured that they were all in the same situation of not remembering anything.

Sweeping up her bag, she sifted through it and raised her brows a little as she drew out a stake. "Well," she piped up, her voice dry, "I'm not sure how useful this will be, unless I have to ram this into a vampire's heart or something." Looks like she would have a better chance of surviving if she ran rather than fought with a weapon this close-range.

ε IV fell silent then, resigning herself to listen to the others as they tried to formulate an plan. What she didn't get was how everyone seemed so ready to accept what was happening to them. They wake up in the strange place, are given bags full of supplies and a weapon...and then what? There was all this talk about seeking out or fighting other rival groups, but personally, ε IV wasn't entirely ready to accept this situation yet. Everything was so confusing, and strange and...and frightening. But...as much as she wanted to sit down and wait for the answers to come to her, she knew that it wouldn't be happening anytime soon.

"Scouting sounds like a good idea to me," she said finally, "Since we have a map, we'd best get our bearings straight first. We definitely can't just sit here forever--we'd be sitting ducks." ε IV hesitated before adding, "I...guess I could volunteer myself to be one of the scouts."

It was almost amusing how their location was easily determinable by simply opening the tent flap. "Well, that was easier than expected. There were cornfields on the map, right?"

(You're welcome LP. ^^ )

ε III nodded again while people spoke back and forth across the tent. ε VIII had some good ideas involving the pink fabric draped on the men. Unfortunately the girls probably didn't have such a option of taking off their pink, as it seemd it was probably attached to their gauntlets. And taking off those would leave their hands unguarded, it seemed. It was probably the same with the lower leg areas on their armor. Hmm, a lot of 'probably's, but ε III didn't want to risk taking off her armor. Perhaps in a bit she'd try.

It was good to see they had more than just knives and a mace for weapons. A long range weapon would probably be a blessing in a place like this. But it seemed ε III was still the only potential healer. She wasn't sure if this alarmed her or not. Perhaps if there was another healer, they'd have a better chance of survival.

"I agree with ε VIII on the scouting matter. Some will need to stay with those who haven't woken yet." She said with a nod. Right after that, she heard someone mention corn. "Corn?" She asked curiously, turning to look at the boy and the opened flap.

And corn there was. Fields upon fields of the stuff. "Well, this certainly has a bit of a horror-film feel to it." She murmured aloud.

Eight let out a whistle at the sight of their surroundings. At least it was better than sitting in the middle of desert, or at a cliff's edge, but still, their setting at some disadvantage to it when one thought about it. The good thing would be they would be hard to spot unless someone got a good view over the field, the bad thing...they could easily get lost and run in to hidden dangers.

Biting back a smirk, Eight made his way over towards Four [ε IV] and wrapped a hand around her should, his usual unseen smirk planted on his masked face. "Well then little missy, you ready to go out in to the yellow and green yonder and see what's waiting for us out there? Of course, I wouldn't mind goin' with you if you're scared? Are you?"

Eight snorted and turned his attention towards their one and only medic.
"It really does fit well with our situation, doesn't it? Now all we have to think about is who will be the first one to be offed."

[ε XI :: ENTERING :: ε home base]

She sat up in bed. That she was indeed a she was one of the few things ε XI was certain of. The rest was all a blank. "W-where...?" she didn't bother to finish her half-whispered question, since she wasn't asking anyone but herself anyway. There were plenty of others in the room she might ask later, all wearing the same gas mask she realized she was still wearing. Then that dream was real? It must have been, since she was here now, right? And it didn't seem there was anything that came before, or was there? She couldn't remember.

All this while, she watched the others take medkits and bags designated to them and chat about the oddity of their situation, not to mention their names. She wondered what number showed on her mask and what kind of weapon she might find in her bag, but she didn't get up just yet. It was still too strange.

She listened to her own breathing and found it quite loud, though less labored before, in that dream she was beginning to doubt was a dream. She brought up a gloved hand and looked closely at it. She wondered what her skin looked like underneath. What was the color of her hair. She thought hard and tried to remember what she had been before this place. Was she still that?

Finally she stood up and walked over to the closest table, which happened to be the one with neither the medkits or the bags, and looked down. It was a map with five locations written across it, none of them familiar.

((HEY GUYS ε X is waking up!))

This felt great, sleep, relaxation...wait...did someone say corn? E-Ten awoke with a snort, sitting up and falling back down before sitting back up again with a groan. Corn? Where? She wasn't hungry but corn sounded awesome. At first she was going to rub at her eye but her fist hit a gas mask and she made a noise of displeasure. Okay, fine. "Someone mentioned corn? Is it lunch ti...where the crap are we?" She looked around at everyone, noticing they were all wearing pink. Haha! Suckers! To have to wear a color so vile! She turned in her seat to point and laugh at everyone, an arm crossed across her stomach as she doubled over with her laughter.

Waitwaitwait..what the HELL?! "AUGH! PINK?! Who the hell put me in PINK?!" She whined and tried to peel her armor off, giving up when it proved too difficult. Daaaaaaaamniiiiit! She sighed and stood, putting her hands on her hips and looking around the tent. People in pink armor, weapons, fist aid kids...where was this corn? She meandered to the weapon's table and looked them all over, making a happy little noise as she picked up the BB Handgun almost instantly. That looked fun!

ε XI whirled around at the sudden question about corn. "Well, I believe the corn would be a reference to the cornfield on this map?" she said with a bit of uncertainty. She read the number off the mask for the loud one and saw that she was ε X. "Hello, Epsilon Ten." She extended her hand in greeting. "I'm... well... I don't know."

"So what if they attract other guys? I say, let them try and start something. There's only thirteen of us that can make it out alive, and we got a time limit." ε XIII was keeping his equipment on, thanks.

"...Let me see that map," he demanded, marching from the supply tables over to group next to the tent flap. He was expecting a grid and compass rose, but the map was just three roads, some doodles, and labled areas. "Hell," he said, "There aren't coordinates or anything, just some landmarks. Beach, Lighthouse, Town, Cornfield, Cove. What good is that going to do anybody?"

PostPosted: Sat Apr 02, 2011 5:17 pm

"Map?" She blinked, taking the hand of the person speaking to her and giving it a shake. Epsilon Ten? Weird name, but whatever. How did this other person not know who they were? She gave them a once-over and spotted the number on their mask, tilting her head a bit. "You're...er...eleven, I think? That's what ex-eye means, right? Was never good at that stuff...I think?" Whatever. She put the gun away and walked over to the map Epsilon Eleven was talking about, peering down at it. What a boring map! The other person was right; there was nothing helpful on this map. It wasn't even a very good map!

So they were in the cornfield? "Heh...so we're the Children of the Corn. Oooooooh~!" She wiggled her hands and fingers to make a gesture of ominous mysteriousness...or something. E-Ten proceeded to laugh and wander around the tent, looking over all the first aid kits even if she'd only be taking one of them. Huh? Something was vibrating. What the hell? She felt around until she found what was vibrating, a cell phone! Cool! Oh, someone sent her some texts.

Blahblahblah, nap, blahblah group...

KILLED?! What?! "What the hell is this place? We're going to die?!"

ε XII glanced uneasily at the others crowding around her map. Her map, as if being the first one to locate it meant she owned it. Well, it was her only advantage in this situation and she didn’t like the idea of the others homing in on it.

“Like I said,” she repeated. “There’s not much on the map. But at least we know we’re at the cornfield now, so that’s something. The question now is ... where do we go?”

It wasn’t like the ominous text message had given them any indication about what they were supposed to do to survive the week. The weapons were clue enough, but without a goal, the best bet seemed to be to run and hide. ε XII certainly agreed that the pink tent was too much of a giveaway.

"Indeed." So she was ε XI.

"Only thirteen survivors?" she asked a little warily. Since there were thirteen cots, she surmised that at least one of the other areas, if not all, contained similar groups like this one. It was then that the phone in a pouch on her armor finally rang.

She took the phone out and looked at it. Sure enough, only thirteen survivors.. or else. "Oh. Oh dear." How on Earth could she have agreed to something like this in the first place? There must have been some sort of mistake. It wasn't that she felt she couldn't emotionally or morally participate in this sort of... whatever this was. How could she possibly... She eyed the table where the weapons were and chose her bag and looking inside, found... a wooden stake? What an odd weapon. What was she supposed to be fighting? Vampires?

Since it was beginning to become obvious she was going to need it, she picked up one of the medkits from the table too.

"I don't know about you, uh..." ε XIII squinted. "Ten, but I'm not dying. And sure. I don't see why it can't be the thirteen of us."

Everyone was starting to come around. The backpacks lined up on the table were getting fewer and fewer. And some of the weapons people were digging out weren't knives.

Seven pondered, as others woke up and others still seemed restless. He frowned as Two brushed aside the tent flap to show that they were in a corn field. "Iunno... the sky isn't green is it?" He asked curiously thinking about something that said green sky meaning there was a possible twister.

"Sounds like the place for bad weather." He chuckled "Oh that's true." He reluctantly pulled off the cape and put it in his bag where it easy to keep. He chuckled when four said something about vampires. "This is a right real fix we're in."

Ten waking up caused Seven to glance in that direction... lofting an unseen brow at the girl screaming. "Same person that put us in it I suppose." It was a logical answer wasn't it?

Seven was looking around. "Well... do you think if one of us was able to get a higher view point we could figure out where the lighthouse might be?" Lifting a hand up to rub the back of his head were they even in a position that was possible.
