Smirking at the feint from Maiara Devlin didn't do anything, he could read their intentions as clear as day instead of rushing towards one or the other he backed away slowly looking intently at each of them like a wolf putting it's hackles up when it was cornered. His eyes darted back and forth between each of them quickly though ti would have been hard to tell under his mask. he frowned for a moment then smiled under the mask. In that moment he began running towards Alex then he went towards Maiara but he didn't fully go after either instead he went between them aiming to slide and trip them up. trying to catch them off balance with the nature of his attack and then darting away. After all it was in his nature to proffer to fight that way hit the enemy hard and fast then get out to do it again.

As Alex watched the leader move she stumbled and stopped to see if she would fall. Then as she saw him turn around she quickly did what he did and ran towards him and slid through his legs and tripped him again and pinned him to the ground with out a word.

Nodding for a moment he went limp after a moment as she pinned him or tried to at any rate. After going limp and regulating his breathing to calm his heart getting ready for what he was going to do. waiting for the right moment. He could have already told her what she was doing wrong in the first place, but he proffered people learning the hard way in a controlled environment. Finally ready he looked at her through his gasmask smiled and then ran his arms around her and began to squeeze with all his might into a hug.

As Alex was starting to loose her breath she took in a deep one and tried to decied what to do. She realized not all things have to do with pinning the opponent to the ground. She finally went limp to lost of breath, after a few minutes she passed out.

Maiara watched the two again, as her feint didn't really work on him. She had nimbly jumped out of the way from the man, keeping her eyes on him as he grabbed the other girl in a fierce grip until Alex passed out. Knowing now that he probably would focus his attention solely on herself now, Maiara kept her eyes intently on the man, looking no where else as she kept her feet nimble and her hands in front of her, ready to retaliate.

Shaking his head for a moment he gently set the poor girl down and coughed. "Might want to brace her ribs and I have no idea what to do about those wings." He said thoughtfully looking her over trying to assess the damage before calmly turning his boots making clear noise in the dirt and gravel in front of the building and close to the obstical course. "Now then, what interesting surprising do you have for me then Missy, as you can see just inning me won't make me stop." he said trying to taunt her into attacking knowing. it was much easier to defend then attack considering how the body worked and the simple movements to pacify someone. He had to give them more credit though originally he thought this was going to be over quite quickly but these cadets were cautious unlike most high-school and college students.

Maiara tilted her head to the side, watching curiously for a moment, debating whether or not to wait it out, trying to see which one of them would attack first. Quickly changing her mind, and taking note of the dirt scuffed up by Devlin's boots, Maiara charged forward, halting abruptly about a foot and a half away from the man, kicking up a lot of dirt in the process before jumping to his left side, landing on all fours like an animal. It was still strange for her, fighting in this form, rather than a fox. She then jumped forward, aiming to hit his pressure point near his left shoulder with her palm.

Stepping aside quickly and grabbing her arm at the elbow He moved her expertly knowing the rest of her body would follow the arm once her shoulders past him he pressed his free hand into the middle of her back and forced he down into the ground and then brought the arm aimed at him up to a point where it was painful holding her like that. Smiling he knelt down for a moment and gently but forcibly grabbed the back of her neck. "Nice with the dirty trick my dear, I like your style and I expect nothing less from my cadets rules and sanctions are meaningless in a fight for your life. Now granted I don't intend to harm your lives I just want you to realize what it takes to survive should you find yourself in the army. and in a entirely ******** situation." With that he let her go the sudden fact that he no longer was supporting her by holding her arm in that painful way or holding her by her neck forced her to drop to the ground. Smiling Devlin stood straight and tall well tall for someone five foot seven inches. "If you know your enemy and know yourself You will not fail in a hundred battles." He said smiling through his muffled respiratory gasmask "Those words are over two thousand years old and yet they still hold weight."

Maiara growled as she felt herself hit the ground; his movements had been fast and hard to keep up with but as soon as he released her she got back on her feet, feeling the ache and pain in her arm but not too much in her neck. Either way, she didn't let it show in her face as she nodded to him; she had felt worse pain than that before but the man, wihout a doubt, had now earned her full respect. She knew that she could learn from him, rather than trying to get Haikimaru to fight her for practice. The spirit warrior was still unfamiliar with the structure of this operation, but she figured she would learn quickly. "You strong, skilled man, you help me fight well. Like wolf, you are." Maiara told him, comparing her drill sergeant with the fighting style of the spirit warriors bonded with the wolves. They tended to be strong and fast. She put one hand on her shoulder, tempted to heal the pain, but stopped. The angel girl might need it more than she did. "I help wing-girl?" She asked, having forgotten the girl's strange sounding name already.

He took the compliment very well and nodded to it and cleared his throat as she went off to help the other cadet. "Aye that'd be a good Idea." He had troubles understanding her somewhat but he got the generally impression through her feelings alone. Walking over to Alex with Maiara He coughed a little bit more and asked "You didn't speak much before at home, or is this not your native tongue?" he asked it was a question that had been begged after all

Alex woke up with a sharp pain and coughed. She can't fight well on the ground but in the air she is like the teacher. Looking to her left and right she saw Delvin and Maria. Looking down she saw something had collapsed. When she tried to get up she fell back down because the pain was too much to bare.

((Really sorry guys!!...Things are finally slowing down a bit though, so I shall be posting more often hopefully))
Maiara nodded, "Not native tongue. My people live in far north, very cold. We speak Inuit. Your way of speak is different too. You say words different. " She told him, referring to his accent, but didn't quite know the exactly the right word. She also noticed this man tended to cough quite a bit; she wasn't sure if it was some condition of his or he was sick. But that wasn't her concern at the moment. Turning her attention to the wing-gril, she got on her knees, "Dont try to get up." Searching for the worst injury, Maiara placed her hands on the girls ribs, sensing either they were bruised or a few broken. She exhaled quietly as her hands glowed softly, feeling her energy ebb away as she went to work healing the girl.

Looking over the healing procedure that Maiara was giving Alex Devlin nodded after a moment and then looked them both over for a moment before continuing on the conversation. "Well, I have been all over the globe though not quite that far north I should say. Don't worry though, once you get better used to it everything falls into place." He said as a way to reassure her smiling under his gasmask and his eyes both fake and real glowing somewhat.

Akex looked at the girl who was healing her. "Thanks, miss." She said as she slowly breathed. Then she looked up at the guy, "This is my only time being on Earth. My family said i have a reason to be here but I have no clue what though." the angel exclaimed as she waited on the ground. "But they said to get into many fighting classes as I can."

"My speaking is better than when I first come to island. Soon I sound like everybody else. I hope." Maiara said, focusing on the wing-girl. It had been awhile since she has healed somebody else; it brought her back to times at home when she would heal the wounds of those hurt after a hunt or skirmish. She felt the energy being sapped from her as she stopped at the ribs and moved to the base of the girl's wings where they attached at her shoulders. "Should be good. Not perfect, good enough." She told her, sitting back with a slight slump, feeling fatigued. Healing always drained her energy quickly, more than anything else. Maiara sighed quietly, watching the girl, "You will find path. Spirits always know the way."
