Marle tilted her head curiously at the Jolteon. 'Nah, she's never cruel to us...okay, she scolds sometimes...but she just doesn't want us to get hurt,' the Pikachu rambled a bit, but keep grinning sheepishly all the while. She carried a young air about her, as if her age still didn't quite fit her frame, but she wasn't dumb...just a little over enthusiastic. And perhaps not as naive as she seemed. 'Like you said, nice people don't last here. So, she can't let the other humans know she's nice. She just acts all tough and quiet and stuff. She's not really like that. It's all an act,' She grinned broadly, pushing her point home. 'Plus, if no one's nice long...then why else defend your own human so fiercely?'
Blinking rapidly, Sierra realized her thoughts had been overheard and she'd been addressed more or less directly. She turned her icy blue eyes on the boy...they were cold...but perhaps not as cold as usual. "...nothing, not really. Just a passing thought. Useless, I'm sure." She paused, as if in thought, then added quietly. "I dunno, I guess this place just...has an effect on people after a while." Then she frowned, "Or maybe it doesn't. Maybe people are always that way, who knows? Not me..."
She softened her expression a bit, and would have offered him a hand up, if not for the guardian Jolteon. So, she settled for a pleasant look, if not quite a smile. "Eh, in any case, welcome to the madhouse. I'm Sierra. Sierra Istas."

Sighing lightly at the thought of more idiots like that coming in, Nikki's frown diminished into a more tired expression.
At the mention of her food though, the agent blinked once. "Oh. I had forgotten about it," she admitted, tilting her gaze back to the table she had inhabited before all of this began. Sure enough, her tray was still sitting there, amazingly untouched so far by any loose Pokemon.
"I guess I should at least finish it," she muttered in agreement. No sense in letting good food go to waste.

Her head inclined lightly to the side, quietly observing the steady change of Nikki's expression. Following her gaze over to the table that she as sitting at. seeing the tray, sitting alone.
The corners of her mouth softened in a polite smile, before she took a step to the side, and turned to move back into the cafeteria, waiting for Nikki. "Your welcome to come sit with us, have you met Front and Alexander yet?" She didn't know much about the two grunts, but from the experience she had with talking to them, and being on missions with Alexander, they seemed to be pretty decent.

"No, I haven't." There was visible hesitation at Faleen's invitation to go and socialize with her and a pair of grunts. However, after a moment of thought, her frown returned and she nodded.
"All right."
With that she went to go retrieve her tray.

As the Agent (Nikki, he would try to remember that) departed, Frost sighed faintly and shook his head. For some moments he remained quiet, merely nodding to Xander as the young man moved over to join them, but eventually his fixed the despicably scruffy youth with his usual sharp gaze.
"You would be wise to show respect to grunts as well," he informed Shawn softly, "and to trainees for that matter... It surprises me that you have not even been given that rank, but that is beside the point. The point is that if you want to survive without too many more incidents like that, you must learn to swallow your pride and your childish impetuosity. I do not know where you come from, but around here there is no room for undisciplined outbursts such as that... Just a word of warning, you understand, not a threat; I personally wouldn’t trouble to strike you if you spoke out of turn to me. It’s rather crass for one thing, and for another I can think of far better uses for my energy.”
The ball placed firmly in the spiky-haired child’s court Frost turned to Xander, acknowledging his roommate with the barest twitch of a smile. “Good afternoon, Xander. I hope that your day has been productive and interesting thus far?” Ah, he had that new Purrloin with him; perhaps he had been training? Or then again maybe he was just socilizing the dark type... Well, he would probably explain in a moment anyway.

'I said 'humans who have been here long are not nice', not 'humans are not nice for long',' Lindsay corrected the electric mouse bluntly. She herself had been forced to evolved at a very young age as an eevee, so she had little tolerance for those who seemed youthfully naive. 'Reason it out all you like, but humans will resort to all sorts of trickery around here. How do you know the person she's showing you isn't the real act, just to get you to listen to and obey her? Were you bred and born here among these people and their cruel ways? You sound as though you come from the outside. Like him.' She flicked her tail at Shawn.
'I've seen many pokemon put their trust in the humans here, only to be betrayed by them in the end. I only hope for your sake that your trust is not misplaced. This human is still ignorant of these people's cruel ways, and I will protect him from them as long as I live.' That said, she settled herself down next to her trainer, ears perked and alert for signs of danger. The other humans were coming back.
Shawn stared at the peculiar behavior of his pocket monster before looking back up at Sierra and shrugging. He gave a crooked smile. "I'm not really surprised. It gives off this vibe. Like to suck the life from its inhabitants." Dropping his gaze to his warn sneakers, he shook his head. "Eh, people are all more or less like that in general; especially if you're a nobody like me. We definitely don't get slapped around if we fall out of line, hehe." He again touched the place Nikki had hit him.
"You sound like someone who's been here a while, Sierra," he answered, slowly edging away from Lindsay in the hopes she wouldn't notice while he was talking. "Thanks for the welcome. Nicer than my last one, but I probably deserved that. I just...can't believe I ended up here." Once he was far enough from his pokemon, he carefully stood, making sure not to move too quickly lest her startle her. She looked at him curiously before walking back over to stand between his legs.
"Name's Shawn. Shawn Darrow." He extended a hand. "Looks like I'm making friends left and right." The teen glanced in the direction of the other members as they began to reassemble for lunch. "So, um...aren't you going to join them? Don't want to be caught sympathizing with the idiot who shot off his mouth, do you?" he chuckled bitterly. "I'm just going to hang back here and see if I can make out who's who as far as agent status goes. Looks like there's some sort of color code going on with the matching outfits."
Continuing his tentative movements, he reached over to take his tray still on the table and set it on the floor so Lindsay could feed on the remains. At the weight of another gaze on him, Shawn whipped around to meet another pair of sharp, icy blue eyes. Nodding warily, he started to wonder if it was better to meet the speaker's gaze or if he was expected to divert his own in respect. This man seemed to demand respect with his very presence; perhaps due to his apparently soft-spoken nature and no-nonsense attitude.
"Yes, sir," the boy replied quietly, sensing more an air of seriousness around this fellow than arrogance as he thought he felt around Nikki. "Um...pardon me, sir, but...how can I tell what Rocket is what Rank? Er, and...you already heard mine, but I didn't catch your name." Like it or not, he knew he would have to remember everyone's names sooner or later; especially if he was going to learn ranks along with them. He was a little resentful at being referred to as 'childish', but he did his best to suck it up.
Oops! One more thing. Maybe now was his chance...? He tapped the man on the shoulder as the platinum blonde turned to address his comrade. "Uh...sorry to inturrupt, but I really need to know how to care for this...um...creature." He jabbed a thumb over his shoulder at Lindsay. "A little help...?"

'Maybe I do,' Marle answered cryptically, tilting her head at the other Electric type. 'Even if I did, doesn't make me stupid. Whether they've been here long already, or they're going to be, it's all the same. If they reach the same conclusion, then how do you know your human isn't the same?' Frowning, the little Pika shook her head at the Jolteon. She didn't trust easy; she was no fool. She'd been stolen from her original owner, afterall...a sweet little girl, innocent, loving...but all it took were the events of a single day, and Marle's life had been turned upside down. The then-Pichu had emerged from her Pokeball to see a stranger holding it, her little girl nowhere in sight. Less than pleased, and maybe a little frightened, she'd immediately started discharging stored electricity at the human and her Pidgeot.
Things hadn't exactly progressed smoothly from there. Marle had done everything in her meager power to attack, harass, and generally upset her captor. Yet, she was answered with quiet, if sometimes tinged with frustration, patience. Despite the many threatened electrocutions, the female Pidgeot was kindly, treating Marle like her own child, seeking to soothe her troubles as best as she could, given the situation. It had taken some time before the little electric mouse would even allow the other Pokemon to have a civil conversation with her, one that wasn't just one-sided anyway, but when she did, the motherly bird had had some interesting things to say. She'd talked the other into understanding that while Sierra had taken her from her home...she had done so with little choice. It had been an order. And sometimes, bad things happen to good people, but you have to make the best of the worse circumstances. It could have been much worse, as this human was kindly, treating her Pokemon with respect, even if she herself was also in a bad situation. 'She has a good heart,' Celeste had once said. 'She just doesn't realize it yet.'
Time and circumstances had finally led Marle to place her trust in Sierra. She couldn't say much about the other humans here, but she'd make an exception for her new trainer. She wasn't stupid; she didn't believe things without proof or experience. But some Pokemon had been treated worse than she, and it had left their minds closed to hope.
'I trust her,' Marle finally continued firmly. 'You have to be able to trust someone, else you'll end up all alone. Best to go with instinct and experience.' She settled back on her haunches, sensing the tension abating, if only a little. She wouldn't have hesitated to leap to her human's aid, if the other Pokemon had decided to act in a hostile manner.
Sierra had been staring at the pair for a minute, puzzling over what sort of intense discussion the Pokemon could be having, but sighed and shook her head as they seemed to be settling down for the moment. No, not like sucking the life out of people, as Shawn had just said, but more like taking what they were when they entered and corrupting it, twisting it beyond recognition. But she didn't feel like going into that right now.
She thought she recognized the other Rocket from somewhere recently...what was his name again? Frost? Yeah, that sounded right. While he did have a no-nonsense attitude, she had to admit, he did have a point too, and she nodded at him politely in recognition.
"A while maybe," Sierra admitted in regards to the length of her time here. "But no, I'm not really one for crowds. I've been....away for a while, training, and I'm still easing back into the whole socializing thing. Plus...I haven't seen Nikki since our first mission...she probably doesn't even remember me anyway." She waved her hand in the air, as if to brush aside the thought. If she hadn't screwed up her chances for promotion by now, what more could she do? Okay, probably a lot more, but...she could think of worse things she could do. At least Shawn seemed semi-interested in talking to her.
Plus, she was interested in something he'd said. Curiosity touching her features, she inquired, "Err...if you don't mind my asking...what did you mean by your 'ending up here?' I take it you didn't seek out to join Team Rocket?"

"It's Frost," Frost said to the black-haired youth with a slight nod before he could launch into his tale of how he had come to be recruited, "and in summary: Trainees wear red, Grunts wear black with grey gloves and boots, Agents wear white, and elite agents wear black, but with white gloves and boots bearing a red stripe. If you see anybody wearing smart black and white clothes with a small R on the upper left of their jacket, beware, those are Executive Agents; they answer only to the Boss himself... Of course," one pale eyebrow flicked up a notch, "some people make it difficult by wearing variants, for example I have opted for black gloves and boots as opposed to grey, at my own expense. Some people wear more extreme variants; if you hang around in here long enough you may see a young man who wears a blue outfit with a jacket cut like an Agent's, but no shirt under it. Despite appearances, he is merely a Grunt. In short," Frost shrugged slightly, "it is best to tread carefully until you are certain of a given individual. I find that an over all polite and professional attitude works as well for dealing with those subordinate to me as it does with those superior, but I aware that not everybody shares my... attitude."
Most people, Trainee to Executive, seemed to have left their manners at the door when they donned the red R. He honestly had no idea what their excuse was; Team Rocket was supposed to be organized crime after all, not some boxing ring where the biggest bruisers duked it out for rank and respect... Well, that was not entirely fair; he had only ever spoken to one Executive - what a surprisingly untidy man he had been - and come to that only to one elite too, although he had to admit Seth had been rather... Where had he been going with this train of thought? Oh, right, big angry idiots. He supposed he really ought to run a proper survey before settling on such an opinion; his sample of the higher ranks was not at all sufficient to draw any conclusions at all...
The boy touched him. Touched him. Frost whipped back around to face Shawn, repressing a grimace as pain flared up in his ribs. For a moment he fixed the young man with a glare colder than the summits of the Sky Peak Mountains, but his expression quickly faded back to neutral. "Kindly keep your fingers to yourself," he said calmly, flicking an imagined speck of dust from the shoulder Shawn had touched. Egh. Why did people go around touching other people all the time? "I have a very firm personal space bubble," he went on to explain, "I am aware that it is not exactly the norm and so you could not have guessed, but kindly respect it in the future... And your pokemon; what do you need to know about it?" He knew a fair bit about eevees and their evolutions thanks to his many years of experience with Skiron, and so unless it was a very in depth question about jolteon specifically he suspected he could help... After that he should return to his food though, before somebody sneezed on it or something.

After walking with Nikki to get her tray, Faleen returned to the group of grunts that was at the table where she had sat. She paused though, looking down at Zorua, the dark type seeming to have taken her form again.
"I've found many Rockets introduce themselves including their rank. Not everyone does this however." She added, having caught the end of the conversation with Shawn and Frost. Sitting back down and shooing Zorua from her seat, noting some of her food was missing with a small frown, but with out a word about it resumed eating.
Zorua, still using illusion to look like Faleen, slid over to the end of the table, leaning forward with her hands propped on the seat between her legs as she peered down at the two electric types, snickering a little at their conversation.
"Frost, Alexander, have you two met Agent Nikki before?" she asked, since Nikki would be joining them it would at least be in good form to introduce the other agent to the grunts, and vis- verse. She looked over to the female grunt that was also close by with Shawn, she didn't think she knew this rocket.

If it wasn't for Faleen, Nikki wouldn't even consider socializing like this. There was a distinctly uncomfortable air around her as the other agent introduced her.
"I'm sure they heard," she muttered quietly before sitting herself down with a huff. She believed she saw both of them standing around during the little...scene she had made with Shawn.
Using her hand to tuck a long strand of blonde hair behind her ear, the Articuno feather danging from her ear swayed and shimmered in the light of the room. Nikki's eyes going back to the Zorua who seemed fond of impersonating Faleen. "Where did you get that thing? What is it?" She wasn't exactly well versed on Unova Pokemon just yet.
As she spoke, the agent absently rubbed one of her hands with the other. Despite having healed, the skin was still sensitive and ached from time to time. She had some ointment for that, but would have to apply it later.

((Oopes, a lot to catch up on XD))
Well he had definitely walked into a good about of drama today. Alexander watched the scene in front of him with a mix of pity and amusement. He caught the nod of greeting Faleen gave him was was very quickly drawn back to the confrontation. He winced in sympathy when the obvious newbie was slapped by Agent Nikki even if he deserved it, knowing it would either make the boy straighten up or make him worse. But then he got some lectures so Xander gave him no mind for a chance to study how his roommate was feeling.
Since he had been looking at Frost, Xander caught the little smile and it just made him smile back. "Yes it has been, I've made a lot of progress with Angel here." he said just as the cat pokemon rubbed her head against his cheek. Conrad, not to be outdone by the feline, did the same to his other cheek. "And of course Conrad helped." he amended with a chuckle. The chuckle died though and he winced again when Shawn made the mistake of touching Frost. Luckily the older man kept his calm relatively but that didn't stop Xander from seeing Frost's trouble.
"Word of caution, Shawn was it? Tip toe a bit until you get used to the place better. And maybe ask someone to mentor you in the ways of the Rockets." he said with a slightly annoyed smile, although he was more annoyed that Frost was hurt then at the newbie. He pulled out a small bottle then slid it over to Frost. "You left it in the rooms." he said pointedly about the pain medication before looking over when the Agents returned. "I don't believe I have." he said to Faleen's question before pretending to tip a hat to Nikki. "Pleasure to meet you ma'am."

"I heard," Frost nodded politely to Nikki, "but proper introductions are appreciated all the same; pleased to make your acquaintance Agent Nikki..."
Ah, Xander. Sometimes he wished the young man were both a little less observant, and a little less protective. "I did indeed," he agreed in neutral tones, taking the bottle and tucking it away in a pocket before adding; "maybe later." Maybe later he would just throw away a couple of pills; he hated to be wasteful, be he hated to be 'wasted' more. He had to admit that the analgesic didn't affect him as terribly as he had expected, but it made enough of a difference in his state of mind for him to notice, and as such he was only taking it when he really needed to.
"I am pleased to hear that her training goes well," he went on, genuinely wishing to express the sentiment, and also wishing to change the subject. "You have not had her so very long, I am impressed to see her so fond of you already." But then Xander was good at making people fond of him, wasn't he? Mmh. A very likeable young man, even when he was clucking like a mother Pidgey.

Alexander gave Frost a half lidded stare. "Uh huh I don't think so. Take them now while your eating." he said, crossed his arms and tapped his right foot. Conrad and Angel looked at each other in amusement then game Frost the same unimpressed of stares. "Thank you." he did say to the complement, as he most certainly would make sure to encourage the proper social interaction. After all this way the older man would slowly learn the right responses first hand right? Through all his focus on Frost he completely forgot that he was acting this way in front of two higher ups but truthfully, unless one was Seth he would have acted the same.

Saleen had walked into the cafeteria, followed by what appeared to be another, slightly different pink haired girl. This one had on a grunt’s oufit, blue eyes, and long pink hair tied back in a braid. Some might recognize her as the grunt Callista, but it was not. Ambrosia had a few forms she liked best, and she had fun changing into Callista from time to time. And now was one of them, and it really didn’t help that she was busy playing with Saleen’s hair.
Saleen kept swatting her hand away, only to have it come back. But while holding a try of food, Saleen didn’t seem to be able to simply ‘swat’ away the hand that was playing with her hair. Sighing, Saleen looked for a place to sit, oh it was always so difficult. At least until she expanded her social pool. Though for now she would just see where was a good spot.
Saleen was also being followed by her Umbreon Esther. She seemed to have taken a liking to Saleen, and being that she was currently Saleen’s strongest pokemon, she took the initiative to follow her around and make sure no one messed with her. Esther’s ears perked up a little, hearing a conversation between a couple of pokemon. Ambrosia turned her head to, but didn’t say a word. Saleen stopped and gave her pokemon questioning looks. “What?” she asked and then looked to the group not too far off. A couple of grunts and agents? Her pokemon seemed interested, Ambrosia staring at one of the ‘twin’ agents in particular before she let go of Saleen’s hair and ran over to the group.
She smiled and grabbed the false Faleen and smiled at her, still not speaking and still in the appearance of Callista. Saleen quickly rushed over there, she had to intervene before Ambrosia got her roommate in trouble! Setting her tray down on the table, she quickly grabbed the tail that gave away the disguise, as the false Callista quickly reverted to a black and pink zorua who Saleen held up by her tail. “Sorry about that…she…get’s excited sometimes. I apologize for the trouble.” said Saleen quickly as she tried to make up for the mishap. “Zooooor! Zooooor!” called out Ambrosia as she struggled a bit in her trainer’s grip. “Rosie, that’s enough. Apologize.” said Saleen as she now held the zorua in her arms who frowned and looked at Faleen and…the other Faleen. “Zoorua…zor…” she said, her way of saying ‘I’m sorry…’

Faleen agreed with Frost completely on that, knowing they probably knew her name, but she had never been introduced to them before, and that often made a difference.
Reaching out for her cup again with a small sigh, things seemed to have calmed down again. She paused once she had taken a drink, hearing Nikki's question about zorua. "Ah, I got her from the Executive, the one that went to Unova when he was in here a while ago, and just passed a few people here pokeballs, I just happened to end up with her. she's called a Zorua,"
"I noticed the Togepi you had earlier, is that a new pokemon?" Faleen had had one other experience with a togepi, they seemed to be popping around quite often.
Zorua blinked, eyes wide when someone ran over and grabbed her. it... smelled like another Zorua, "Rooouu" she howled, with a sudden frown when the girl reviled herself to be another Zorua. Still in the form of her master she stuck her tongue out at the other fox pokemon.
"Zorua that's enough, get out of that form right now." she told the fox, frowning at the behaviors she was showing. The real Faleen glanced over to another women who walked over, long pink hair, and with two dark types. "another Zorua." she noted, mostly to herself, this one was pink and black... While she did this, zorua pouted, and shrank back down to the shiny colored dark type, still frowning at the other Zorua.
