"Good job Pygi. You rest now." Tambrey recalled the little bird and placed the pokeball back on her belt. It was time to focus on just the bug; and see if she'd finally listen to instructions...
Neph shuddered as the icy wind blew over her... That hurt! And now she was slow... Enraged, she chittered and turned her furious eyes on the Glaceon.
"No! Not yet! Focus on the ghost first!" Tambrey called, wincing as the spider pokemon failed to avoid the confuse ray. "Try not to hurt yourself! Use Leech Life on the ghost!"
Neph chittered angrily, shaking her little head back and forth. What had they done? Where was the enemy! She was becoming more angry by the second... and shot a poison sting viciously. Someone was attacking her with a poison sting! How dare they! The spider-like pokemon writhed and spat. As long as she wasn't fainted, she was going to try and destroy her opponents!

"Skiron, Persephone, hold back," Frost instructed his pair of pokemon, "give it light taps, give a chance for it to recover and obey orders." It would do no good to just flatten the bug type when it seemed to have learned nothing.
Skiron turned to face his trainer for a moment before flicking his ears in a shrug before breathing a cloud of frigid air at the flailing bug, calculated to annoy rather than to harm.
Persephone was rather less impressed with the instruction, and the ghost type froze in place as it argued internally. Eventually the dominant voice forced the others into silence and floated over the bug type to pull faces at it. Uuuugh, that poison hurt. They were not enjoying this battle anymore.

Tambrey gave an appreciative nod, though she winced again as the spider-like pokemon practically yelled with fury as another freezing breeze passed across her.
It didn't do much damage at all this time but it was extremely infuriating. Neph chittered and was about to try and spout silk everywhere when she caught ahold of a sound. That trainer who had her ball... Instructions. Hmph. Fine. She would try the instructions -just- this once.
"Come on Neph! Calm down and focus! Aim a leech life at that ghost!" Tam' called... and was pleasantly, extremely, surprised when the bug seemed to be taking aim and trying to use exactly that attack.
Neph narrowed her eyes at the Spiritomb, the 'face' on her back showing an angry expression still as she she aimed to attack the spooky pokemon.

A critical hit, and that along with the insidious poison was enough to make Persephone faint; with a wail of frustration, the spirits were drawn back into the keystone. A moment later the keystone too vanished, drawn back into the dusk ball in Frost's hand. "See," the pale man quirked an eyebrow at the small spider, "things go better when you obey your trainer, don't they? Skiron, Ice Beam; finish it off." He didn't expect the lesson that listening to Brey was sensible to take hold immediately, conditioning was only instantaneous in very extreme circumstances (a child generally only touched the hot stove once), but it was the first step on the road to teaching the creature to behave itself.
"Glae glae!" Calling acknowledgement of his trainer's order, Skiron spat a powerful stream of ice at the bug type.

"Good!" Tambrey's face split into a grin. Neph had actually fainted something! Because of an attack that she'd ordered. "Things are easier if you listen." She added, agreeing with Frost. Then, Lasi chimed in his agreement too.
"Zuu zuu!" He agreed, of course! Obeying Tambrey was one of the things he got praised for, and praise was very, very nice!
She hadn't yet considered that the bug was about to become disobedient once more; she was just purely elated that Neph had finally listened to something. "Try and dodge, then poison sting!"
But Neph wasn't listening. She was celebrating her win. And chittering angrily as Frost said something. More stupid humans! As the ice beam barreled toward her, the tiny bug seemed to decide that she could attack the attack... And Neph launched herself into the beam. And promptly fainted.
For a few moments neither Tambrey nor Lasi moved or made a sound. Both seemed rather shocked by the last action. Clearly the bug was crazy. Finally the red light zapped out to reclaim the spider-like creature.

For a few moments after Neph's epic assault on Ice Beam Frost stood in silence. Eventually, he cleared his throat. "Well, clearly there's more work to be done but at least she listened to you briefly," he said with a nod, choosing to ignore the possibility that the bug doing as it pleased had just happened to coincide with Brey's order... The way the Spinarak had just launched itself at an full on ice attack was at once impressively bold, and deeply comical. Luckily he had an impeccable poker face, and his amusement remained hidden; he didn't wish to appear rude.
"Return then Skion," the small blond said after a moment, giving a soft weary sigh as he fetched out the Galceon's luxury ball, "that's enough training for now." He was tired. He hadn't even done anything and he was tired. He hated being injured, so much of his time wasted just resting... Still, there was nothing much he could do about it; human bodies were not as easy to heal as pokemon bodies. Why was that? Why did healing items have such miraculous effects on them?... Perhaps it had to do with their unstable physiology, their ability to evolve. There were probably essays on the subject somewhere, maybe he would look some up when he returned to his room.

"Zuu zuu!" Agreed Lasi. Clearly there was more work. That bug was insane. And more work meant he'd get to play and train more! He'd enjoyed watching that battle, and Pygi had done so well. He was rather proud of his favourite rival's little daughter; she was a wonderfully talented little rival already. He still held a lot of hope that he'd be the one to evolve first, however.
"... I don't even care that she tried to attack an attack! She /listened... She fracking listened to me..." Tambrey continued to grin. Fine, it was only once, but Tambrey wasn't even going to consider the idea that it was just the Spinarak doing as she wanted; it was just too good a feeling to give up and was a nice little boost to a dented morale after breaking her arm. "Oh, Frost, I could -hug- you right now..." She admitted happily, though refrained from doing so- perhaps knowing he wouldn't appreciate it and likely considering her injured arm. She watched, though, as Skiron was returned and Frost seemed to sag... or at least sigh anyway. She wasn't sure why anytime someone sighed, she always imagined a more physical reaction than she saw. "Are y' doing okay?"

"Please refrain from doing so," said Frost with another faint sigh, "I am not fond of unsolicited physical contact at the best of times, and at the moment my ribs are... uncomfortable. Nothing else in particular is wrong with me, just generalised weariness." Much as he wasn't fond of admitting weakness denying it would be foolish, and besides, Brey was injured as well so it wasn't as though he was letting her know about some advantage she had over him. He didn’t want to go and lie down, he really didn’t but it would probably be a good idea. He wasn’t about to keel over, far from it, but equally he knew his concentration now would be too poor to get much done. Lie down for a while, and then go hunting for interesting essays.

Tambrey nodded, reigning in her smile to be less 'grinny' and more 'understanding'. "My arm... would likely not thank my eith'r for such a thing. And, I kind o' figured the hug to be a bad idea anyway. 's just... That's the first time that she's obeyed me. 'S a happy feeling." She explained with a small, apologetic shrug. "And, understood. That mission... That Shaymin. I mean. I know we weren't th' worst off, but... I think we got a bit o' an unfair share 'f that explosion..." She rubbed her arm gingerly. Then, almost as an afterthought recalled Lasi back to his ball. It shook a couple of times in protest- the bat wanted to stay out for a bit longer, but settled down quickly enough; if he behaved, he'd be more likely to be allowed out in the dorm's after all. "Thank you, though. It was nice to train with you, Frost."

"True," Frost nodded and almost smiled, "at least we are both vertical and more or less functional. Mmh. My thanks to you as well, perhaps we can train together again some time?" The more work he did with Persephone the better, and extra training was never a bad thing even for experienced Skiron. "In any case," the small blonde went on, "I should return to my room now. Feel free to email me or 'grab'," he actually made air quotes, "me if you see me around the place to arrange further sessions... Grab was not literal, by the way." He thought that had been made clear, but better safe than assulted. "Good day to you then, I hope to see you soon." With a final nod, Frost called Skiron back to his pokeball and made for the exit.
