Hilarious Werewolf

Candlejack. Everyone that kept appearing by the grave now, was at some point, heading down. Great. Just...whyyyyyy?! The she-wolf did not want to go down there. But, she had no desire to remain up here by herself. Did they really have to go down there? And to top that off, Gabe's words made her feel like...well, a puppy. No she didn't know the word 'stay' very well. But...but he had run off twice. And then she'd gotten scared. LW felt her tail curl around her legs in a gesture of apprehension. "I'm...sorry..." Was all she managed to get out lamely.

She had the urge to move around and hug the gryphon too, but words of 'don't touch' kept haunting her. Why? She didn't know, but they did. So she refrained. But it was very hard. LW wanted to make sure he was alright. His familiar scent, which usually brought her comfort, unsettled her with the coppery undertone of blood. It made her shiver and then she received a quick kiss from her boilfriend and...Oh JACK! They were going down. All of them. Even Ren. LW watched even as Gabe tugged her towards it. Then they were all climbing down. And she was still staring.

Another soft whine escaped (why did this trip seem to bring this side of her out so much?) and her tail thrashed. LW didn't want to stand up here alone! Or lose her friends again. Or...Deep breaths. Don't think. Just do it. Hands shaking, heart pounding, LW moved towards the very unsafe looking ladder and followed her friends down into the hole.

((Exit post to PRP, exploring the rooms.))

Tybalt rubbed his arm lightly when LW smacked him, though the grin remained in place and in fact widened a little when he noticed the gryphon intentionally ignoring him. He would keep any other comments to himself for the time being. It wasn't fun to tease the weakling pigeon when he was in this state.

"So it's decided? We're all going down?" He asked getting to his feet, before looking back at the others. To be honest, he was a little relieved that they'd be moving forward... err, down, rather than staying here. Not to say that he wasn't anxious about going down in an open grave. Because he was. The idea of going anywhere unknown on this creepy island was unnerving. But staying here? He didn't like that idea any better. So once he was sure everyone had made it down safely, he too moved towards the open grave and prepared for his descent. Though rather than using the ladder, he chose the quicker option and jumped down; thankful for the fact that he was a ghost.

(( I'll have Tybalt reply to Whisper in the next post, Getsu. <: ))

The smoke got so thick, Barth could hardly walk. This worked out, because was not a fan of walking anyway.

The grave was not exactly a door, but the hole was a way out, and there were no fires in the increasingly colder dark. Fortunately, Christof handled the climbing.

Together, they descended below the grave and into the black.

Christof righted him, and Barth, a mess but alive and otherwise unhurt, looked up to see the faraway light.

"Well," Barth said. His head felt clearer, but their next course of action didn't. "...We're out of the fire, anyway." And hopefully not into the frying pan, because he had already done that one.

The light up ahead was a flashlight. A particularly shaky flashlight in a pair of very shaky hands. Calder was a mess. The rope ladder had taken forever to get down with plenty of breaks to cling as the rope swayed and as he whined to himself. It seemed everyone else was farther ahead, finding no problem in taking on what probably seemed as a minor challenge. To Calder, it nearly killed him, and when his hoof finally touched ground, he dropped down to his knees and stayed there a long time before rising up.

He managed to make it a few steps, flashlight gripped in his white (well, more white) grasp. "Israfel?" He hissed, ears down as he looked around. "What was that?" He asked himself, turning the flashlight quickly from one corner of the open area to the next. It was a strange place, but with his open hallways, it still said it was something new and different. Not a prison at least....or he hoped not. The dark wasn't as grand as the fog, but at least he was used to the dark. Then again, he had thought he was used to fog, but that was something different up there on the surface.

Holding his flashlight close, he stepped slowly, reminding himself that wolves could not climb ladders..

...unless they were bloodthirsty werewolves.

..Calder whined at the thought.

Be a stallion. Be a stallion. Hope I don't get turned into kibble. Be a stallion. He chanted in his mind, taking agonizingly slow steps.

His name echoed with the scuffling of others in the noise of the background. It was a voice of familiarity. He knew who that voiced belonged to didn't he? Yes, as a matter of fact, he did! "Calder?" The siren was timidly looking around him, the overhead lights making each movement jerky, distorting his vision. He wasn't meant for such an environment. He was a creature of the air and sea. A song birg was supposed to be under open sky, hardly underground. But when the sky was dark, and fog was surrounding him...No. Under the current circumstances, Israfel felt better here under the flickering light, in this unknown space. "There is a map over here Calder! Uh-" Israfel looked at the labels. Level 3? That would mean they had gone pretty deep..or had just take then back way in. Maybe it had been an emergency or hidden exit. That seemed...possible, given they had come in through a grave after all. But what was curious was the office. Dr. H. Just who was that guy? Still, Israfel had to move on.

Looking for places to go he noticed stairs. This floor was just the surface..but something..something had been going on here. Something bad. And judging by the state of the lights, the way in they had taken, the voice...It was wrong. All sorts of wrong. "Calder, I'm on the stairs!" Taking a few steps on the stair way, he felt something hit his head and he froze. It was..wet? Oh jack don't be blood, don't be blood. Looking up Israfel let out a sigh when he saw it was just the overhead sprinklers. Reaching the first landing Israfel heard the crinkle of paper by his feet. Another note? How curious.

Picking it up, his earwings prickled at what he could make out. He didn't like this.

He didn't like it at all.

Barth found the flashlight, slowly checking the head, then the batteries, then the on switch. A steady beam of light provided some consistency in the flickering hallway. Barth steered it towards the defunct and unlit elevator buttons, then up again, where they had entered.

"Elevator shaft," he said, curiously.

He stepped out, next regarding the map tacked to the wall.

"Hm."

Down the hall there were voices, distinctly placed, nothing like in the cornfield. He heard Calder and Israfel call each other's names, and after absorbing what he could of the floorplan, moved sluggishly that way. ...Oh. Stairs. Great. Next to the stairs, however, was a very friendly-looking and functional elevator.

It was a good thing it was dark because Mr. Stallion jumped like a ghoul when he heard his name called out by the siren. For a moment, he thought it was the ghost boil from the cornfields again and, being alone in the dark, didn't want to think of what horrible things he could do to him. To hear Israfel's voice in front of him did bring him a great deal of relief, and he pointed his obnoxious beam of light in the boil's direction, moving towards him as he heard his name called and then given a status report. He followed over to the map, watching Israfel's light before he could come over and see him.

"I thought I was alone down here or that something ate everyone." He whined, probably not helping anyone out by planting disturbing images. "It's so dark down here and usually I don't mind the dark but there are noises and this isn't like the bottom of a lakeeeee." He looked up at the map with the siren, not at all sure what they could get from it. "We're Level 3. Where is the Level we need to take to get out of here and into a nice building?" Preferably one that had some better lighting.

Just as he was leaning into the map, trying to find a "You are here" and a "You need to go here" signs on them, he heard Israfel again and heard him call out from the steps. Just as he was moving towards his beam of light, he saw another and flashed it over to the newcomer.

"BARTH?!" He gasped, flashing his light right into the demon boil's face. "You're alive! I thought the wolves got you!" Turning, Calder called out to the siren. "Israfel. Barth's down here! Have you met Barth! He's a demon and not dead!" Seemed a better introduction than some, and Calder beamed in delight at seeing the demon. It was so nice to see some familiar faces.

Smiling, he went the distance between them (Jack knew that it would take forever for Barth to do so), and pulled the sloth demon into a big, tight, hug. "I'm so happy you're alive."

Was Calder crying? What?! It was a tender moment!

Israfel, backtracked just a bit, waiting at the edge of the stairs. "Barth? Demon?" Why did it sound familiar? He was- "Oh! Barth! Um, minipet training. He had the slime thingy and made more slime, but um yeah..." Earwings flicked in thought. "Is a reaper ghoul with him? The one with leg warmers?" For some reason it was all he could remember in vivid clarity.

Israfel, shipper of ships, even when ship wrecked.

Christof had had to stop to catch his breath after carting Barth all that way, finally struggling with his flashlight as his Master had gone ahead. At the sound of the echoing shouts, though, he rushed forward, groping for his own flash light and pipe-

Only to see it was just that bird Boil- Ghoul- Boil- his head was aching. Israfel- they had a few classes together and he knew it liked to harass his Mistress on Groan Spring...

He lowered his weapon, eyes narrowing as Calder appeared in the darkness, arms thrown around Barth in a hug. Ah. Well. Not dead, then. Good.

((HP:25))

Siddie followed Carry down the ladder, squinting in the darkness. "I can sort of see," she said, frowning, "but I still don't see anyone. Who was that calling out? I didn't recognize the voice." She looked up then, hearing the echoes of other voices in the hallway, and caught a glimpse of a light flashing across the hall. "Is someone there?" she called, cautiously.

"Let's go and see," she suggested to Carry. Hefting her crowbar, she started down the flickering hallway, glancing nervously from side to side and keeping a careful eye out for motion. In the occasional flashes of light, she saw figures near the stairs, and paused. Were they real? Hallucinations? Students, or something else? "Hello?"

"Errk," Barth said. "That's err, alright. I'm sure the fire has gotten the wolves by now, if it's any consolation. Squeezing a little tightly, there."

In a strained voice, he added, "Yes, hi Israfel, cooking isn't my strong suit, I'm afraid." Barth did not have many strong suits. "Colette went to the town to search for supplies. It looked a bit...uphill for me."
PostPosted: Thu Mar 24, 2011 7:38 pm

Fire? Did a fire start?! It was a good thing they were down here then, and he hoped it burned those wolves alive! Then again, ghost wolves probably would make the ghost boil happy or better yet, they would hate being ghosts and the ghost wolves could hunt the ghost boil for all eternity. Calder liked that idea. It made him happy, but not as happy as the next flashlight wielder that came.

"CHRSTOF!" Calder cried, prying his vice-grip hug from Barth to then leap on his friend and pull him into a even together embrace. "You left me and i thought you were dead and then I didn't know if the ghost boil and the wolves got you!! I THOUGHT YOU WERE GONEEEEEE!" The kelpie's whaling echoed in the dark confines of the underground they were in. (Way to not make your presence known to any whatever might be lurking in the dark, Calder. Way. To. Go.)

Things were going to be okay now. His friends were here. They weren't dead. He wasn't alone!

"I was so worried. You too left me all alone in the corn field. I waited and waited and you never came backkkkk!!! I THOUGHT WE WERE FREINDS AND YOU LEFT MEEEE!!!!"

Now that he had actually made it successfully to the bottom of the hole, Tybalt could easily see around himself. It was dark, but thanks to the natural glow in his eyes, it was like he had a 24-7 flashlight on hand. Though now that he had time to look, there really wasn't anywhere to go... Was it a bad idea after all to come down here after all? He thought it over for a moment before one thing occurred to him. Where was everyone else? Everyone else had come down here too, if there really was no where to go, they would have been trapped in this spot too. There must be way out.

It took a little while, but after some searching, he found it. It was a small hole, but at least it wasn't too far down. In fact, he could make the jump easy. But more than anything, he could see where he was jumping. Much better than the last jump! Unfortunately, even after the jump, the situation didn't improve much, but at least he found someone! Someone with glowing orange eyes...

"Whisper!" He gasped in surprise; nearly wiping out in an attempt to avoid landing on her. "I'm glad you made it here safely!"

For a while he had thought that the poor hell hound ghoul had gotten lost in the cornfield... he never would have dreamed that he'd meet up with her again so soon. Though now that he had, he wondered if she would want to continue on with him. It was certainly better than being alone.

"I'm going to go search the place. You can come with me if you like?" He offered, before walking over to take a look at the map on the wall. From what it seemed, they had two options. Take any of three routes, or go back up the rope ladder. Which to be honest, he wasn't really interested in the latter. So in the end there was only one choice left. Move forward and he did. Choosing the the first route, he began to walk off to explore the rooms.

The hunchback gave a startled noise in his throat as he was basically tackled, crumpling to the floor with the Kelpie on top of him, his flashlight rolling to Barth's feet. Once recovered, he managed to give Calder a ginger hug with a pat on the back (Like a man) in return, his face flushing in the darkness.

He didn't want to think about the fog up above, nor the cornfield and things he saw in it. Thankfully it seemed no one wanted to know. he'd keep it that way. After he hoped Calder had gotten it out of his system, he attempted to sit up, glancing desperately to Barth for direction. He didn't trust his own judgment, not anymore.

"Yes, well," Barth said, interpreting the look Christof was giving him smoothly. "We could always walk around. I suppose. Like we've been doing this whole trip." Barth didn't mention the stairs. He was not going to think about anything having to do with stairs. If he ever made it out of highschool alive, he was going to have a very big house, and none of it was going to involve stairs.

"...But there is a very nice elevator here."

Barth looked inside.

"One of the buttons is lit, even."
