Demyx returned with Saleen at his side, plopping back in his seat and taking another bite of his sandwich. He nodded at Panther's question, offering a wide grin.

"Yup! My first one ever. I think I came out pretty well given that, don't you?"

"Blim..." Deine drifted down the hall from the infirmary to the cafeteria. The poor drifblim had been distraught since returning from the raid. She'd been healed from the Breloom's attacks in minutes, but her trainer was in much worse shape. She'd been certain he was dead until he'd woken up and started talking to his partner again. What a relief that'd been. A little while later she had taken it upon herself to go and find her dear trainer some food (that always made her feel better) and thank whomever it was that'd saved him. He'd mentioned someone with pink hair, and someone with a pidgeot. His memory had been fuzzy from the trauma though. She'd figure it out, she was sure.

Replacing her expression with her usual stern one, she drifted to and through the doors to the cafeteria. It was loud! There were lots of people here...many seemed just fine. Had her partner been the only one seriously damaged? That didn't make her very happy. "Blim!" She grumped at the nearest person before floating past them towards the food. First things first, she'd gather some up for Repo. Never mind that it probably wouldn't be allowed. She floated right past Alexander as he was leaving the buffet or sorts, and gave him an odd sort of wave. He'd been on the raid, she remembered. And since she didn't know who'd saved Repo, she'd just thank them all.

Now what did humans like to eat again?

It didn't take long for Alexander to spot Frost but when he did he had to wonder if she should have walked him to the table. He quickly made his way over as he eyed the other man for signs of stress. His roommate was having trouble breathing too deeply he noticed and seemed to have a slight sort of glassy look in his eyes that tell of pain. He sat down the trays of food then after nodding a hello to the others at the table, sat down and almost fidgeted over his need to figure out how to help Frost. By now he was wide awake from worry again.

Conrad moved over to sit beside Xander and stared at the two watchfully. He hadn't been happy when they had split to different locations and he could only go with one when Xander was getting food.

It made Saleen feel nervous that they were both being friendly. She hadn’t been so sure about Panther on the mission since he seemed more distant…even telling her off for her…embarrassing fall. But he didn’t seem so bad right now. And Demyx…well…seemed exactly the same as before! “Yes, it was.” she replied. “I don’t go out much, plus I never really got around to getting a pokemon until recently.” Which was true. She just had never really bothered before. “I don’t see being too useful on a mission without a pokemon.” she said with a shrug.

As Xander joined him, Frost flashed another very brief smile before scanning the food he'd brought over for something that looked appetizing and east to eat... Honestly, none of it looked that tempting, but there was a little bunch of grapes and so he pulled one off and ate it. Blast. He was tired, and he hurt. Perhaps he should have stayed in the medical bay, but the idea of sleeping there made his skin crawl. This wasn't because he thought it was dirty there (he knew very well it was meticulously cleaned), it was the knowledge that just anyone could walk in. He preferred to sleep behind a locked door, where the number of other people that could possibly be around was 'one', and that one person was somebody he knew...

He should probably eat some more. Taking another grape, it occurred to him to turn to Xander and say; "Thank you... For bringing the food over." And for helping him without tease or complaint over the last few hours. He couldn't say that aloud though, not here at any rate. He didn't really know how he ought to say it, and he refused to fumble for the right words in front of so many people. There would be time later, and he would not let himself 'forget' just because he felt a little awkward about having needed help in the first place. Xander had been good to him, and that deserved thanks; to fail to give him what he was due would be extremely rude... About as rude as hitting somebody with a big stick. What was he, a cave man?

"This one was certainly one of our better ones." he looked at Saleen shocked. "Just recently? Hate to tell you this dear, but we are team Rocket, stealing pokemon is what we do. Well, ok, I gusse we do other things too, fighting giant mechas, getting blown up, going into volcanoes... but still, you want to have a pokemon you can trust with you." he lifted and spooned at his soup, not bothering to mind his manners. It was almost as if he couldn't eat it fast enough.

"Well at least you've got a good one. That Umbreon of yours is fantastic - she's obviously got some great genes," Demyx said absently, nodding to Saleen with a grin. He took a quick sip of his soda then, glancing briefly around the cafeteria before his gaze returned to the two Rockets in front of him. "I'm Demyx, by the way."

Alexander's worry did not lessen in the least when Frost winced from picking up a grape. In fact it made him ever more worried and his leg started to ever so slightly bounce up and down out of anxiety. He was able to smile brightly at Frost when the other man thanked him though. "Your welcome." He reached over and pushed a cup of yogurt that had a straw in it closer to Frost. At this point he didn't care how it looked. He might have to see about spiking a drink of Frost's tonight with some painkillers just she the man could sleep.

Conrad moved over and promptly laid down on Xander's bouncing leg, and stretching to lay on the other just in case, so it would stop. It wouldn't do for anyone else to see how worried his partner was.

Maybe she shouldn’t said that, Saleen resisted rather well the urge to blush from embarrassment. She got embarrassed too easily. “I know…but I do have my litwick and umbreon now. I guess I just…never quite got around to it before. I mean, I don’t want to just grab any old pokemon. I want a pokemon that I can, like you said, trust. I didn’t think that should be a rushed choice.” she said, then turned to Demyx when he commented on Esther.

Thank you, but she actually wasn’t mine initially. An operative who needed to leave for a bit left her with me. She had something important to do, and wanted Esther to get more attention so she had me take care of her. Not quite sure why but I didn’t argue with it. And she has turned out to be a very good pokemon. Doesn’t like strangers much though.” said Saleen as she lightly patted Esther’s head. “But I do like Umbreon, so I was more then happy to take her. And nice to meet you Demyx. My name is Saleen.” she said with a smile.

Finishing his bowl and set it down on his tray. "Good point, good point. Umboreon is a good pokmeon. You can call me Panther, by the way." he nodded to Demyx. "So you have a litwick? I've heard of those but haven't had a chance to get one." he did love ghost type pokemon. They were elusive, and intelligent, if a bit annoying at times.

Yoghurt? He could cope with that. Picking it up carefully, Frost sucked experimentally on the straw. Mmh, strawberry flavoured, and not too sweet. More importantly, not so thick that sucking it up the straw was much of an effort. He felt vaguely as though he ought to join in with the conversation going on around him, but he wasn't sure what to say. He had come here to try to be sociable, but he wasn't doing very well; for him even coming close to fitting in with people took a great deal of concentration, and he didn't have any of that to spare at the moment.

"I hope they do not decide they want me to stay in the infirmary overnight when I go back for them to check on me," he said eventually, more or less directing the observation at Xander although this was not made excessively clear. "A lot of people go in and out of there, and the people working there think that," he paused for a breath, "that they have the right to poke at you just for their own amusement." A lot of it was necessary; he wasn't a fool, he knew that, but some of it was certainly excess to requirement. "Reassuring pats on the shoulder," Frost muttered vaguely, "I do wish they wouldn't. I kept telling them but they still kept doing it." He didn't like being touched, and that was that... Except that he had, on the edge of unconsciousness. He still had no idea what to think of that internal conflict; now that he had a firmer grasp on reality he was less aware of it, but it still lingered somewhere in the background. Wanting to be hugged, but without being trapped and without the creepy feeling that people darn well touching him brought about. Feelings were difficult. Why did they have to exist?

Giving a soft chirr, Skiron moved to sit beside his trainer's chair; he knew that they were busy with their human conversations and didn't have time for him just now, but he wanted to be sure that Frost knew he was here. He also wanted to be close to him for his own sake; he had been worried, and still was. He had very seldom seen his trainer badly hurt, and it distressed him every time. He didn't want to leave, didn't want to be more than a couple of feet away, just in case something happened.

Saleen nodded in response. “Yes well, I got Ciara first. Then obtained Esther shortly after.” she said. “Ciara can be a bit…clingy but she isn’t bad. You can see her if you would like.” said Saleen as she took out Ciara’s pokeball and released her litwick.Lit Liiiiiiiiite! called out Ciara happily as she hugged one of Saleen’s pigtails, rubbing her face against it. If it didn’t defy all laws of physics, hearts would have been swarming around her. “This is Ciara. Like I said. Clingy. Off.” she said as she tugged her hair away from her litwick who frowned, but took the chance to turn to the two boys and smiled. Liiiiiiite!” she said gleefully as she hovered between the two, unsure who to hug first!

"Well it's nice meeting both of you!" Demyx replied, finishing off his sandwich with a grin. For the moment, he took a passive role in the conversation, merely listening and nodding when appropriate. When Saleen released her Litwick, he laughed softly as the pokémon clung to one of her pigtails. "I've only got Arpeggio with me - I'm sure you guys saw him on the raid. Most of my others were retired before I joined up with Team Rocket. Heck, Arpeggio's father is going on twenty now, and he wasn't trained for battles. No way was I going to put expect him to adjust to that after so long!"

Clingy was definitely a good word. It reminded him of his charmander up in his room, whom was probably waiting for him, wondering why he had yet to return. He held out a hand to the litwick, inviting a cling, most ghost types where a little more standoffish about touch in his experience.

"The Vaporeon, right?" he paused, "20 years?" he thought for a moment trying to think of a pokemon profession that didn't require fighting but could be retired. "What did you do before joining team rocket? Breeding?"

Ooh wow! I have heard of pokemon living a long time, but I never met someone who had one! That’s really neat that he’s still around after 20 years!” said Saleen happily. “I heard once of a Ninetales that lived to be a hundred years old! Though I am not sure whether it’s true or not.” said Saleen. Ciara on the other hand, saw the opening for a hug and rushed in, hugging panther.Liiiite! said Ciara happily. “Yes…I saw him on the raid..” she said, not feeling like mentioning HOW she saw him. Well her hair was styled differently, maybe if she was lucky they didn’t realize that it was her! Yes! That’s looking on the bright side!

Saleen was curious if he was a breeder as well, after all it wasn’t every day that someone talked about Esther’s coat and potential breeding. Esther meanwhile, was enjoying a nap.
