Bullseye had spent his time rather restless, relentlessly patrolling the area since the twins last visit in an attempt to drive off the feeling that something was horribly wrong.
In that time he had one run-in with the two he could sense were there. That damn blind super-hero and his stupid ninja girlfriend. It didn't really matter anymore how they had gotten there, all that did matter was they were there and this mere fact agitated the evolved Tala to no end. Hell, he'd rather be around Flash than those two, and that was certainly saying something.
Despite this, at least it had only been one run-in. Since then he hadn't seen them again, but he knew they were there, and that made him restless.
So, again, he was patrolling the area, currently oblivious to the twins presence in what he deemed 'his land'.

Well immersed in the water, the girls squealed in delight as Mirage started a small splash war. Both wore the items of their choosing; Mirage because she simply forgot to remove her scarf, & Fidelity because her angelic sash never seemed affected by dirt or water. Of course the later was not hindered by the fact, but the former began to show signs of duress as her scarf soaked up water. The splashing subsided & Fidelity chuckled lightly.
"Whyever did you wear that in? It must be heavy now."
Mirage tossed her head, intending to toss the scarf too but it paid her action no heed. "It was sweaty, & needed to be washed too!" She responded, giving what she thought was a better excuse than the truth -she had not thought about it.
Her sister simply looked at her, laughter in her two-colored eyes. "Aw, 'Deli. It's not fair, being in each other's heads at times like this. Why didn't you remind me?" She cast her twin a plaintive look.
"Truthfully? I didn't think of it either." Fidelity gave her sister a rueful glance & Mirage burst out laughing. Soon both were laughing as they moved to shallower waters.
A familiar scent came to them on the breeze & they paused. While Fidelity contemplated a course of action Mirage plowed forward with her usual candor. "You-hoo! Bullseye! Come join us!"
Fidelity blanched. "Mirage! What are you doing! We're a sight!" "What're you talking about? We're clean!"

The evolved had been walking along in thought when the sound of their voices hit him. For a moment he was confused, looking around wildly and trying to figure out just who it was that was in what he considered his land.
It was only another moment before he realized who it was, and for the first time in a while a grin actually crossed his muzzle. At least these were good visitors, ones that intended no harm. It was something he was seeing less and less of lately.
"Hello Fidelity, hello Mirage!"
Bullseye padded over to the river, grinning at them both.
"Haing fun, are you?"

They were soaked but even Fidelity managed a cheerful & welcoming smile. "Hello Bullseye."
"We're having loads of fun! Care to join us?" MIrage beconed him into the water & her twin blanched.
'Rage! What are you doing? eh? what now? I just thought he might want to play. With a sigh, Fidelity's color returned with a smile. If The evolved did not want to join them in the water, they certainly had no qualms about getting out either.

Normally one wouldn't expect Bullseye to be up to such a game...and normally he wouldn't be.
But with the twins? That was another story entirely.
"Hrm...join you you say? Well...."
Grinning, the blue Tala ran forward and jumped into the water with them.
"Sounds like fun!"

A suddenly wet Bullseye had the twins rather flabbergasted. On one hand, they were surprised yet pleased that the evolved had chosen to join them. On the other hand, the effect of the water soaking the older male had the side-effect of heightening his sex-appeal. At least to Fidelity & Mirage.
By the time the ripples had returned to normal the girls had mostly pulled themselves together. The shivers that remained had little to do with the temperature of the water. Mirage paddled over to Bullseye, her sister following at a more sedate pace.
"It is fun! Baths are always fun, but more fun when it's swimming! She grinned playfully up at Bullseye, splashing the water under his chin.
Closing the gap between them until she was as close to the male as her twin Fidelity smiled demurely. "We've missed you, Bullseye."

The evolved easily tredded water, grinning at the two females as they moved closer.
"Yes, swimming can be quite fun, relaxing too."
Bullseye shook his head as the water splashed him. Rather than be angry though he simply smirked and splashed right back.
"You two have missed me? Well I've missed you too...there's not a lot of other Tala I like to even be around, really."
The blue one stopped his splashing, tilting his head at the other two.
"So what have you been up to?"

They were still flushing happily at hearing Bullseye had missed them too when the question was poised.
"Brothers." They replied in a huff, frowning slightly.
"It's not that we don't like them..." Mirage began. "... But they're always around." "And we didn't want to bring them to see you!"
The girls glanced at each other in abject horror, hearing themseves. They blushed furriously. Fidelity ducked her head as well she could while tredding water while Mirage looked anywhere but anyone's eyes. "They're a little over protective... that's all."

"Well thank you for sparing me from other's company."
The evolved began, laughing a bit.
"I wouldn't know much about overprotective family...though I imagine they can be annoying. You should be thankful for them though, I guess. Better than having nothing, right?"
Having nothing was something he knew a lot about. Then again he didn't really want much of a family anyway.

The girls were cheered by the evolved's laughter.
"It is kinda nice." Mirage admitted, crinkling her nose. "Definately better than nothing. Makes ya feel really special & cared for." She cast a glance at her sister. "It's mostly annoying 'cause we wanted to see you & couldn't get away!"
Nodding with her sister, Fidelity added soflty "It took us so long to get away, we were afraid of letting you down. Or that you might no longer wish us to visit you."

"Oh come on...that's something you'll never have to worry about! I don't care what happens in the future, there will never be a time that I don't want you to visit me."
Bullseye smirked at them both. It was true, really. So long as his home was safe for them he'd always allow the twins to visit. He just wondered if they'd want to continue to visit if they ever found out things about his past.

Relief mixed with sheer adoration filled their three green & one blue eyes as they rounded their thankful faces on the male.
"Really? Oh, Bullseye! That's wonderful!" Of they had been on land the twins likely would have thrown themselves at him. As it was the water slowed them down & they blushed as they realized what they had been about to do.

The evolved grinned at the twins, enjoying this moment of pure happiness. It wasn't often life slowed down enough for him to actually enjoy what was going on around him. And, as he swam there staring at them, he realized that this kind of happiness was one of few things he'd give up his line of work for.
Over his years he had been a rather cruel Tala, but, older now, such things seemed almost...silly. The urges were still there of course, and he doubted he'd ever fully rid himself of his killer ways. But for once he could see that some things really were more important.

Slower than the glomp they had been about to do, the twins paddled happily beside Bullseye to shyly nuzzle the underside of his chin. Impishly Mirage peeked around the evolved's chest to wink at her twin. "Say, 'Deli... now that we've got him in the water, what should we do with him?"
Fidelity tried not to wince at the nickname. It made her feel like some sort of lunchmeat. "Oh, I don't know, 'Rage. What do you think?"
With a laugh Mirage dove under the water. Finding the bottom she managed to walk across it for a while underneath Bullseye & Fidelity. Her scarf & tail floated up, lightly grazing the others' undersides. Fidelity gasped not long before Mirage's head emerged forcefully from the water grinning broadly.

Bullseye merely blinked at the show of affection from the twins. It was something he really wasn't used to, and he really had to work to not allow it to throw him into full out defense mode.
"What makes you two think I'd let you carry out any little plan you come up with anyway, hrm?"
The evolved grinned at Fidelity, snickering a bit as Mirage's scarf and tail brushed along his underside.
