Armelle of the Forest This sounds like fun! I'm very familiar with Tennessee's history so I'd like to play that one. I think I could sketch up a picture of him really quickly... Here's a picture of my TN orginal character, but I was in a hurry so I didn't bother coloring his guitar or shoes. <.<; AWWW He is so cute! Definatly

Awesome. Glad you like him. smile I guess I should give some historical info to the North Carolina player about him since he would technically be her little brother.
Tennessee was actually born sometime around 1769 when a group of Virginians mistakenly settled in Cherokee territory. The colonies declared him illegal and ordered his people to disband, but Cherokee took pity on the little settlement and leased land to him. In 1772 his people banded together and established a government called the Watauga Association which became the first government ever established entirely by Americans without England's supervision. This earned him the ire of Virginia's royal governor, Lord Dunmore, who saw him as a "dangerous example" of early American independence. For the most part he kept to himself on the other side of the mountains until the Revolutionary War broke out. When this happened war between him and Cherokee (who had sided with England/Britain) began in the frontier. In 1776, his leaders asked North Carolina to take him in as her little brother and she agreed by annexing him as her westernmost counties. (I suppose he would consider South Carolina his sister, too, since they're twins.) Unfortunately, after the war and when everyone was debating about the Constitution, NC was super poor and didn't have the funds to properly take care of him. She ceded him to America, he felt betrayed/abandoned and drama happened (lost state of Franklin stuff ensued), she eventually forced TN to live in her house again, but promptly ceded him again to America when she ratified the Constitution. It took a while for TN to forgive her but he only held the grudge for a few generations... Things were a little tense for a while but they began to develop a more normal brother-sister relationship afterwards.
... Or at least that's why I see them as siblings. I guess you could say he was adopted into the family?

Carolina_K_Jones I see all the original 13 states as siblings and the other states more as half-siblings I don't honestly see any of the states as being "blood" related in the same way humans are so I'm pretty flexible. In my mind it's however the states define their relationships that matter. Hetalia isn't specific enough on the issue to properly say how it is supposed to be. But I do think some siblings/relationships should be closer than others.

I think the concept of them being blood related is good but the fact of understand how each of the states actually came to be because unlike the countries each one was created, not really found except for maybe the original 13 now that I think of it. Poor America, having to birth all of those states

I don't think this rp will get people for all 50 states but maybe at least 15 would be good for us to start with
