"That's fine. Take your time." Celeste really didn't mind. She was back at the lake so she felt no need to rush things. But she did sink further into the water so that it came up to her chest again. Letting out a contented sigh she watched Shoshana blowing bubbles, unable to hold back a smile. It was kind of endearing to watch this full-grown mare, whom Celeste had assumed was somewhat older than herself, acting like such a foal. Sure, Celeste blew bubbles and played around in the water all the time. But she was always being immature about something, so it really wasn't the same as someone who seemed to have such a mature air about them. Eventually she decided to join in the fun and blew some bubbles of her own.

Lifting her head, she gave a light chuckle. She watched Celeste a moment a smiled. It was nice not to be worried about the herd for a time. Not to be worried over if the herd needed to move or if it needed to be still for fear of another attack. It was currently in the care of her daughter, back from being gone so long. Yes, Florian would hopefully make a good leader some day, maybe even take over the herd when she decided to step down. Settling down some, she lowered herself down into the shallow waters much like a foal learning all about water for the first time. It didn't bother her much that she looked so awkward being as old as she was yet so young at heart. In fact, she was fine with it.

Shoshana seemed to be doing quite well on her own. It seemed like she only really needed that initial push to start conquering her fear. And now that Celeste was a little more comfortable, because of knowing the other mare a little better and being back at the lake, she felt a bit more social. Enough so to actually start up a conversation, which she figured would help to keep Shoshana's mind off of her fear and make her even more comfortable, "So then, you have a family of your own?"

She looked up and smiled. "Yes.. I have three beautiful children all grown and starting their own adventures and a loving mate." She couldn't hide the smile that formed as she spoke of her mate. He had truly captured her heart when they were waiting the arrival of their first baskets. Sure it hadn't been a planned pregnancy but what had blossomed in the den as they waited to see their children was something else. She'd actually started to care for him and he for her. The rest was just history. "Do you have any children of your own? Family?"

Celeste felt a very uncomfortable feeling rising up as Shoshana talked about her family. It was all warm and fuzzy and girly.....and envious. She didn't really like any part of this feeling and really wished that it would go away and never come back. She wasn't girly and she most certainly didn't want foals. They were loud, obnoxious, and had so much energy. Always running around playing silly games and clinging to their parents when they're scared or making those adorably pathetic faces when they're trying to get what they want.....This wasn't helping! Now the feeling was only getting worse!

And then Shoshana asked the inevitable. Why hadn't Celeste expected this? Now, on top of that girly, envious feeling, she was getting flustered and she wasn't sure why. This whole line of conversation was just far more awkward than it was intended to be. And to spare herself from starting up another line to be as equally, or even more, awkward she opted to reply with a simple, "No, no family." Then sunk into the water, only her nose, eyes and ears left visible.

She gave a small nod. It wasn't uncommon for some mares never to feel that maternal calling.. in fact she had been terrified of having foals before. She hadn't admitted it to Oracle because she was already great with foal but the whole process had terrified her.. Sure it helped having him there beside her.. it had comforted her the most when he didn't leave after the foals had emerged from their baskets. It was when she saw them, put them into their baskets that she finally felt more at ease with the idea of something so small depending so much on her. "Ah it's ok, you're still young enjoy it." She offered a small smile.

Edging herself into a slightly deeper part, she took a breath and let it out carefully. This was going well.. or so she thought it was.. till a stone she'd been using to keep herself steady gave way under her causing her to slip and fall clear to her head into the water. A look of panic and shock crossed her face as she floundered to regain her footing.

Celeste wasn't at all comforted by Shoshana's words or her smile. She was very confused by her feelings at the moment and honestly just wanted to vanish into the water. She'd never wanted a family before, she'd always been perfectly happy on her own and actually preferred it that way. But ever since she met Mar she'd started to panic just a little if she was alone and now this talk of family was making her face hot. It was all so annoying and agitating and confusing.

But suddenly there wasn't time to think about all that. As soon as she saw the other go under she rushed over. Her wings gave her an extra push through the water so that she was at the other mare's side in an instant. She ducked under the water and used all of her small bulk to help Shoshana get back on her hooves.

With the help of the other mare, she finally found her footing once more and shied back to the more... shallow of water. "I think.. I'll just be fine here." She gave a light chuckle and shook out the sopping wet mess that was her mane. She was small and light for a mare standing shorter than an average mare, her daughter was even shorter than she was though not my much. It was nice to have the other mare's help so she hadn't been left to flounder all alone and possibly even drowned.. no.. she'd have to get back to it and try... maybe.. just maybe the other mare had pointers on staying afloat? "How are you able to float and not sink like a rock?"

After successfully getting Shoshana back on her hooves, Celeste resurfaced and shook her head with a snort in an attempt to displace the water from her scarf. Once that was accomplished she looked to the other mare, a little disappointed at the backtracking this mishap had caused, but it was to be expected and she would try to have patience for Shoshana's sake, "Oh....uh, honestly, I think part of it is because I'm a wind. Lightweight and hollow bones, you know? But um....Keeping your legs moving when you're in deeper water helps. And just having good balance, I guess..." She was never very good at explaining things.

She furrowed her brow some and thought this over. By golly her daughter knew how to swim.. and she was floundering, panicking like a cub tossed to the wolves. Giving a sigh, she gave a determined nod of her head and edged out just enough that the water started to edge to over her back and she pushed off from the bottom in sort of a hop like motion. her legs floundered and flailed about in a spastic motion as she tried to keep herself some what afloat before she sunk back down, touching the ground once more. Giving another snort at herself, she gave it yet another try... she stayed up a bit longer this time but still eventually sank. "What am I doing wrong?"

All the while Celeste kept close to Shoshana in case she went under and needed her help again. She watched the other mare's attempt to swim, noticing the rather random movements of her legs. That was probably part of the problem, "Try moving your legs together two at a time like this." She swam out farther to demonstrate her point, exaggerating her movements so they would be more noticeable. Hopefully the water would be clear enough for Shoshana to see what she meant. "Sort of like you're trotting but without the whole....touching the ground part."

She watched the mare, noting how she moved to swim. "Like you're trotting? I think I can give it a whirl." Giving yet another determined nod, she pushed herself off the ground once more and moved her legs, this time just as she'd seen the other mare do. It worked! Considerably better too. "Look! I'm swimming!" She laughed with glee as she swam in a small circle, not wanting to get out too far just yet.

Celeste laughed quietly as the other mare rejoiced in her success. She was really surprised at how well this was all going. She'd always had problems interacting with other Soquili but Shoshana seemed to make this particular interaction rather painless. The winged mare was actually enjoying herself, "See, it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it." Celeste grinned and joined Shoshana in her circular swimming.

"I see!" She giggled lightly as she made her circle a little bigger. So this was what is was to not fear the water and to swim freely? How silly she'd been to feel the fear of even still water. The ocean it moved and breather with a fury like lakes and ponds couldn't. Sure they lapped at the edge of the bank but it was nothing compared to the force at which the ocean lapped and pulled at the beach.

Celeste had been patient with her. Teaching her and not pushing her. Looking over, she gave an appreciative smile and nod. "I just want you to know... that I appreciate what you've done for me. Perhaps we can stay in contact when we eventually part ways? I mean.. as friends ya know?"

She was feeling awkward again. Being appreciated and making friends and all that stuff she wasn't used to. Heck, she might have even been blushing a bit. Which was an absolutely ridiculous response to this situation, she thought. Giving a slightly nervous chuckle she nodded, "That would be nice."
