"I dislike bug-types, but I'm not a bad trainer," Aila assured. The spider would be the ninth addition to her motley team, a team of which many of the members had distrusted or even hated her at some point. She was accustomed to compromising and conditioning until she earned loyalty, even if it was a grudging loyalty. It would be a bit strange working in the opposite direction, but she wasn't about to let a bug damage her performance. "As you said, I am an agent. I didn't reach this rank through stubbornness and incompetence." As she spoke, she pulled herself from the water with a sigh, her gaze leveled at the Spinarak for a moment. The spider returned the stare expectantly.

"I didn't bring empty pokeballs with me," - who expected to catch anything at an indoor pool, after all? - "so you'll have to accompany me back to my quarters if you want to be caught."

A series of excited exclamations marked the Spinarak's response.

Another sigh. "Very well. Give me a moment to change, then." A few swift paces brought Aila to the locker room, into which she disappeared to fetch her uniform. A very excited Spinarak danced on Aulus's shoulder as it waited otherwise patiently.

"Hu. Well good. Thanks." Thanks? It wasn't like she was doing it as a favour to him. Shaking his head at himself Aulus got to his feet and headed into the men's changing rooms. Moving over to where he'd left his clothes, the powerfully-built man lifted the Spinarak off her shoulder and set it carefully down on the bench. "Wait there a moment," he instructed, "I'm going to have a quick shower."

It was indeed a quick shower (just enough to get the chlorine and other pool chemicals off him) and then he returned to his clothes to dry off and dress. Once he had his boots done up he lifted the spider back onto his shoulder and stepped out into the corridor to either meet with or wait for Aila.

Aila's quick shower was a bit longer as it took some time to thoroughly rinse her hair, but Aulus wouldn't wait terribly long before the agent returned from the lockers clad in her usual uniform. Her dark hair, still damp, remained untied to allow it to dry more quickly.

The Spinarak, which had continued to dance about on the bench and could scarcely sit still on being returned to the shoulder, stood at attention when the Girl approached. Hopefully she hadn't changed her mind once she'd taken her eyes off it... Maybe it should have gone with her?

"Well." It took a great deal of restraint not to simply tell him to keep the bug-type for himself and go on her way. "I suppose I'm headed back to my room. Any other questions before I go?" They had been discussing other things before the Spinarak showed up, after all.

"Oh... I..." Aulus blinked, having totally forgotten that they had ever discussed anything but the adora-bug who couldn't wait to get off his shoulder and on to its new life with Aila. How was that fair? "Well if you do hear of any interesting jobs for trainees, let me know?" he said as he managed to remember what they'd been talking about. "I'd really appreciate it. I'm starting to think that if I mop any more I'll turn into a mop... ha." Damn that had been an awkward joke, but he still felt stupid for thanking her for being a decent trainer, and for growling at her over it in the first place. He just cared, okay? Was there a problem with that? Why was he asking himself that? Maybe all the cleaning product fumes were driving him mad.

"I'll look into it after I see to the Spinarak," she said with a nod. Now who would she see about that, anyway? Perhaps she'd speak with someone from the labs... "I can understand the sentiment... I would have gone mad working with the database if not for the availability of the training rooms in my free time." And thank goodness she had been able to take that position; as a trainee, she had still been quite preoccupied with the concepts of nobility and likely would have refused orders had she been assigned to clean at all hours of the day...

"Well, all right then. Spinarak. Or..." A momentary pensive silence. "Mise." If she was going to keep it, then it would require a name that marked it as her own. "Over here." She gestured to a spot on the floor near her - not too close, of course - and the spider made short work of moving from its perch to its requested destination, parking itself there with an attentiveness that could be likened to that of a Growlithe.

"Right. Thanks." Aulus nodded slightly as the Spinarak - Mise apparently - scurried down his leg and over to Aila. "I'll see you around then I guess. Take care of it, and you take her of her, Mise." He hoped the bug did as it was told, and that Aila didn't change her mind about keeping it and letting it out a fair amount; it had such a sweet temper... He really was going soft. Shaking himself internally Aulus nodded once to Aila, once to Mise, and then turned away to head off towards the gym; he hadn't had much of a swim in the end, but he was damned if he was going to go back upstairs before he'd had some kind of exercise... He really wanted a Spinarak now.
