Zac was likely expecting difficulty with this: expecting Ever to fumble and struggle and remember how it had felt. But no. He remembered exactly how it had felt. Too-tall, too-thin, awkward, with shoes that didn't really fit wrong and a prickling of energy that was unfamiliar, like a hand up his spine. Not necessarily a bad thing, but he'd have to get used to it.
If putting that picture together was all it was going to take, Ever'd prove to be a rather adept pupil. He reached out to pull the uniform in around himself.

"... well done." Zac...no, Zinkenite said though the odd fabric of his mask without missing a beat. "Now we take the high road, no pun intended." He waved at the fire escape, I'd climb that if I were you...easier than trying to play super ball off the walls, just don't hit your head getting the ladder.
And then space seemed to pull in on itself, Zink was gone like he had been the other night at the bus stop, but then you heard his voice on the roof top as he leaned over the edge.
"Well?" He called.

"...want me to climb a fire escape?" Upward? Ever had gone down the things, but he'd pretty much definitely never scrabbled up one, and usually his way down was as much tumble as climb. He cleared his throat, head tipped back to blink up at Za--Zink as he appeared over the top of the building. Was this training, or just Zink being an a**, or...?
At least he reached up, testing to see just how far it was to the ladder. He could get it if he jumped. Maybe.

The jump would be far easier than expected, almost dangerously so rather like he had mentioned. Zinkenite waited at the top for you to climb the squeaking, creaking rickety structure and meet him on the roof tops.
"Senshi and Nega both travel a lot by roof, this way you can more or less see the other coming and your not getting as many civilians involved that you don't need to. The most their going to do is loose sleep while you stomp around and the senshi freezes their air conditioner unit or tries to burn the building down just to get you...but we're stronger than they are, So run if you must. He headed towards the far edge of the roof picking up enough speed to actually jump to the next one like an old Batman comic.
"We're heading to the red light district, you should be familiar with that." He teased.

He wasn't expecting much so -- being able to easily leap up and grab the bottom rung of the ladder all by itself was shocking. The fact that he was stronger, too, that he could haul himself hand over hand onto the structure and start scrabbling his way upward...well, Ilmenite was left blinking on the first platform. The only restriction seemed to be the damned shoes, which caught and left him fumbling and struggling on the ladders, cursing quietly to himself.
He huffed as he stared down at Zink at the top, fighting down the urge to ask why the shorty hadn't ended up with a little height to his shoes. They were fortunately moving before he got a chance.
"...never actually been. The prostitution thing was a bluff." He stumbled as he landed on the roof, wincing as he started to turn an ankle and struggling to stabilize.

"...I was figuring more that you paid for it but if you say otherwise." Zink kept up a quick pace, but did try and keep Ever from killing himself while trying to learn to jump in the uniform heels. "I suppose I should be grateful, the last thing I need to deal with is a Lieutenant with STD's..."
Though he did have a horrid and momentary thought that that would be one very interesting way to deal with the senshi problem.

Ilmenite choked a little on that statement -- Zink getting a one-up on him again. Strange how easy it was for Ever to win over Zac, but once they were in uniform...
"You feel better, like this, don't you?" It was thoughtful, instead of joking, Ilmenite stooping to tug at the duct tape. If he could pull it free, just a little, maybe he could wrap it differently -- but one quick tug hurt too much and left him hissing, frustrated. No, nevermind, he'd just leave it.

Zink had to pause a moment with that thought. Yes...yes he did feel better like this, especially now.
"Yes..." he replied at last. "Yes I do, there is a lot to this life that is... terrifying, but there is a great deal more that's rewarding, satisfying." He knew he'd get out of this life what he put into it, and that alone was worth quite a lot to him.
"Don't worry too much, if you're as good as I think you'll be, you will make captain in no time at all." He said waving a hand at the duct tape. "Your uniform will change then, maybe you'll be fortunate enough to have the duct tape OVER your pants."
It was a bit of a tease but he was amused so that was most of what mattered, right?

Ilmenite huffed at that, shooting a look down at his legs and trying desperately not to grimace. "I don't think I've worn shorts since I was about thirteen..."
But that didn't really matter. He smoothed hands over the rumpled mess of his hair and then shrugged at Zink, gesturing for him to lead the way. He wasn't sure quite why they were going to the red light district, but he kind of wanted to get there and get it over with. Learn what he was supposed to do. Go home and get wrecked.

"Great... just something else to prevent them from recognizing you." He teased and flipped over the edge of a building to land with a clang on the fire escape, heading down apparently but not teleporting this time.
"What are your feelings on stopping things before they happen?" He asked as he started making his way down, barely waiting for you to keep up with him. Longer legs earned you no wait time apparently.

That was alright: longer legs meant it was easy for him to follow, and only the heels on his shoes had any affect. Even those, he was getting used to, and hopefully Negaverse strength would keep him from developing blisters or cramped toes or any other injuries from the damned things.
"Uh. It depends on what kind of things, I guess..." He blinked at that, trying to decide if it was a philosophical question or if it was leading somewhere.

"People who sell drugs, maliciously spread disease, lure the weak into lives of debauchery and death... murderers...rapists... if you had a chance to stop them, or to make sure they never did again, what would you do?"
It seemed rhetorical, for normal PEOPLE it would be rhetorical, then again they weren't 'normal' people anymore.

"...ah." No, Ilmenite didn't really view it as malicious, but he did stop to actually think about it, not immediately answering. He turned the words over, his head tipped to the side and eyes going distracted.
"That's a very broad range of things." Which was semantics, his tone gone dry; he fought down the urge to ask what kind of drugs, or what Zink meant by 'debauchery', because he wasn't sure he could argue with those things. "But I get your point."

"And... what's my point." He said pressing Ever to continue. "Understand that not everyone is truly malicious but some -are-, that is why it's important to do your research at all times." He said pointedly. "Would you want this... sister, of yours exposed to a person, try thinking on that... find your reason for doing this because it needs done."

"Don't talk about my sister." That wasn't a wise move; it was actually almost shocking how quickly Ilmenite's expression about faced, gone serious and sharp, his jaw set.
"Not a word." Not while he was in uniform, especially. "Not even in passing."
