"I'll devote..." He couldn't quite keep up with the words, probably because he didn't have a damned clue what the Negaverse even really was. He hesitated and floundered and dug fingers into Zink's wrist. "Ah, s**t, whichever doesn't get me killed, okay?"

An eyeroll..."Good as I can expect from you I suppose..." He snorted, but rather than withdrawing his hand again he did something else entirely. If it hurt before it hurt worse now... something cold and strange and chaotic that burned through the core of you, feeling it out, changing it and spreading outward seeming unstoppable, agony... From that chaos and pain there came change... "Welcome to the Negaverse...Lieutenant Ilmenite... tonight, you join US in Elision."

That was hellish. Ever barely noticed the change, still half-curled on his side at Zink's feet. It was probably a position the other man was going to relish for quite some time, reminiscing back on this. Especially once Ever stood up and was even taller than he'd been before...
But for now he had to catch his breath. Long moment of silence. He ached. And when he spoke, it wasn't exactly brilliant.
"Why do I have duct tape?" Very small, panting, his fingers curling and flexing around the thing. It was followed quickly with, "And what the hell am I wearing?"

Zinkenite looked him over critically. ".... given it's a reflection of your -soul-... I can't say I'm surprised.... That's your uniform, you get a new one if you live long enough and serve well enough to earn a promotion, you report to Captains and above, you defect and you DIE... there are no second chances that I have ever heard of, if you are -truly- unfortunate you get sealed in crystal to suffer till the world ends... Ductape... is...your weapon. Tie people up, trip them, smack them in the face with the roll I don't care... if you elect to stay with me you'll be on my -team- and I will train you to fight and dodge..." He paused to let the information sink in. "I'm General Zinkenite..." He added sounding more than a little pleased with the title.

"...dad talked to me about joining the army, once..." he cleared his throat at that, worked his mouth, and slowly worked his way up into a sitting position. His head still rang, yes, but in this form -- well, it actually felt a little bit better. Stronger, certainly, and more together, the spinning scatter of his thoughts finally coming to rest.
Ilmenite rested his elbows on his knees and stared at the duct tape winding its way up his legs, and all he could think about was how much that would hurt when it came time to take it off. The thought washed across his face, an open book.

"Just let your focus ease and you'll return to your civilian clothes." He said glancing down at the ductape. "The tape will vanish and you won't have an impromptu wax job, at least not till you power up again for your nightly chores or training, then you had best hope that no one takes it as in invitation in a fight. He offered a hand to help Ever up, hauling him to his feet with far more ease than someone his size and frame should have been capable of. "I'm already familiar with your civilian life, I've been watching you and those around you for some time now. Tomorrow, after Elision, we will meet at the park and I will fill you in further on your duties, about your team and about 'us'... come as Civilian self... I'll find YOU not the other way around. As for tonight, all you have to do is go to sleep...you should find yourself there without trouble, after that all you have to do is find -me."

"Ah." He blinked down at Zink and was simultaneously surprised -- first by the easy with which he hauled him up to stand, and second with just how much shorter the General was than him. He had to fight down an edge of a grin. It was an effort, but he struggled and succeeded. Didn't really want that hand in his chest again. Besides, he was tired...
"What about, um." He wobbled, just a little, and then stabilized, his eyes flicking onto the unconscious Lyra. He stared at her for a moment, and then it clicked: duct tape in his hands. His expression brightened.

"... If you laugh... I can still rip your star seed out of your chest, and I will -eat- it...before you fall unconscious." He said coldly. Actually he still didn't care for the idea if eating star seeds, especially not Ever's, it had that 'not sure where it has been' quality to it. His eyebrows raised and he smirked at Ever's expression. "By all means..." He said and waved a hand at her. "Be creative... " And surprisingly he had to pause, because he was exhausted, it was like teleporting when he was a captain, so draining, like he'd poured a good deal of himself into Ever...maybe he had...what a horrid thought, but too late to turn back now.

Definitely wise not to say anything like that to his new lieutenant. He would almost certainly have something snarky to say, and if Zink was going to be that...well...suggestive, not even the thread would keep Ilmenite's mouth shut.
He eyed the general for another moment, questions rolling over his tongue, before he shook his head and eased forward, crouching down next to the girl. She looked much more harmless, now. It made him hesitate for a moment before he started taping her wrists and ankles together. Neatly. He'd done this before, and god help Zink if he thought about that too hard.
"...uh. Are you going to...explain all this?"

Zink made a face watching Ever do the work so neatly... perhaps the tape was a little -too- well suited to him. He'd have to watch that, that was for damned sure. "Eventually... fast questions now, long questions tomorrow. Right now all you need to know is what I already told you...we fight them to defend our world, we take energy from the civilians whom are otherwise oblivious, they get a nice long sleep, and we get what we need to keep trying to fight off the senshi 'infection' of our world. I'll teach you how to draw energy tomorrow, question one...make it good."

Black.. finally starting to grow light. The senshi started off mumbling, babbling a little if you will.. then her vision started to return. Blurry at first, slowly sharper. A familiar sensation the LAST time she was knocked out.
Only this time, she had one HELL of a killer migrane.
"Ow... hell." She was reaching up to grasp her head out of instinct... only to notice that her other arm would not move alone. They were tied together. Oh God! Flooding back, memories. Green eyes flying open, she say up quickly... only to have her now aching head SLAM into whomever was looming over her. "OW DAMNIT! Who the hell tied me up!?" Eyes watery, she was still trying to regain memories.

Ilmenite had one question? that was the impression he got, anyway. He made a sound, pausing in his trussing of the poor girl to frown a little and fish around for something good and...
WHAM. Right into his face. It was hard enough that he tasted blood on the back of his tongue, was left cursing, his head ringing. Terrible; he should have done a better job. He put a hand firmly in the center of Lyra's chest to shove her back down, heedless of appropriate or inappropriate.
"...goddamnit." He was bleeding everywhere, but he checked his nose once, quickly, to determine it wasn't broken. Not that it would have been the first time.

"Goood morning Sunshine..." Zinkenite said cheerily though it was heavy edged with added weariness. "Don't worry, the civilian is gone, quite safe... the monster is disposed of as well... and YOU...we'll your doing just fine I think..." He grinned down at her deeply amused. "... Though perhaps we'll do the lesson on stealing energy...today...we do have such a convenient target."

Lyra let out a rather undignified squeak as she was shoved back onto the ground. A familiar voice.. a turn of the head. "What do you MEAN gone, Zink? You killed him didnt you! You mean his star seed is safe... dont you. You know zink, for a while there? I thought YOU were different." She narrowed her gaze at the man. "But now i see you are the same power hungry, condescending little boy all negaversers are." Worst part? She meant it. She thought the general was different than the others...
Turning her gaze back... she looked at the now bleeding man, with a negaverse aura. Weak one. "...Who the hell is this?"

She was mouthy, wasn't she? And Ilmenite knew something about mouthy. What he didn't understand for now, though, was how the girl couldn't recognize him. He'd put a hand to his face: his nose was still too-big with that telltale bump in the bridge, familiar features. Was she blind, or what?
He didn't ask her. He didn't want to accidentally help her figure it out. So instead he tore off another piece of tape with his teeth and plastered it firmly across her mouth. There, much better. "I..uh. Does it have to be now?"
