Malodore worked carefully but quickly, and soon Jericho's finger was neatly splinted and bound. "Don't forget - the nurse, after," it cautioned, before turning to nod at Riley, picking up the spouted bowl. "Grazie - now, the wing fabric, I think. This will likely sting, I am afraid, but it is better than allowing it to become infected. I would like to stitch a few of these up, and tape the rest..."
That said, it produced a few vials from its sleeves and poured the contents into the water, which shifted slightly and began to give off vapor (though it wasn't hot). It then tuck out some cotton balls and dipped one into the sterilizing liquid. "Riley, if you could assist? The sterilizing part is simple. Merely take a cotton ball and dab some of the liquid lightly onto the wounds." It demonstrated with the nearest slice.

Riley blinked up at Jericho when he spoke to her, and her distant eyes zeroed in on him for a moment before narrowing in faint mischief. Stop reading my mind. She snapped at him quietly in a joking tone, and reached out to take the cotton balls that Malodore was handing her. She rose and moved around to stand behind him, bending forward to get a close look at the tears. She forced herself to look at them clinically, so that they wouldn't rehash the anger she'd felt when she saw them the first time. She brushed the cotton ball along the tears, just as Malodore had shown her.
You're all torn up, and you're asking me if I'm all right. She tacked on a moment afterward, as she worked on his wing. Ridiculous.
She fell into a heavy silence, and continued to dab at his wing efficiently, making sure all of the tear was sterilized.

Nodding to Malodore about the nurse comment, Jericho glanced between the other two as they decided to tackle his wing next. Bracing himself some, he soon tensed up and hissed as he felt the cuts sting a fair amount from the cleaning process. His fists clenched up into balls and his wings twitched from the pain as well. He didn't relax until that process was done.
"Eh, tis just a flesh wound," he grinned at Riley finally before turning towards the Plague Doctor, "Thanks for doing this by the way.."

"Not a problem," Malodore murmured, though it did open its beak in a smile. It did so like it when its talents were properly appreciated! "Now... that seems to be all the cuts. I will bandage some with tape and gauze, but a few I will stitch shut first." It unspooled its very most delicate and gentle suture thread with a bit of excitement. It... honestly hadn't had a chance to work on living wing fabric before, though it understood the concepts.
"Please, try not to flap away. It will pinch a bit," the plague doctor warned, threading the needle before reaching for the bit of the wing with the worst damage.
((Mal is now fixing! Feel free to have Jericho react; just assume Malodore is stitching away unless Jericho pulls away hard or asks it to stop!))

Listening to Mal, Jericho nodded slowly while doing his best to sit still for the doctor. Feeling the needle dig into his flesh did sting, causing him to twitch at least a little out of discomfort. He tried hard to not pull away from it, though. Without any sort of numbing agent, he could feel each time the needle had to poke in and it wasn't the most pleasant thing to have. It wasn't unbearable by any means, but it definitely hurt.
"You done yet?" he asked through gritted teeth. If this was hurting, getting his chest wound treated was going to be a blast for sure.

"Nearly..." Malodore did not speed up, as a poor stitching job would do more harm than leaving them unstitched to begin with. Still, slow and steady did win the race, and in a few more minutes it tied off the last stitch. "There. Now we can apply the bandages. Riley, could you do that while I examine the chest wound?"

Riley had held Jericho's hand while the stitching took place, wincing in response to his own winces. She didn't like seeing her friend in pain, but at least it was a helping pain, as he would be better off in the long run. Still.. she looked up soberly.
Hey. Jericho. Look at me. She murmured, trying to distract him. We should go hunting again sometime. That was fun, wasn't it? Think of all those deer. That was the best I've eaten in my entire life.
She took the bandages from Malodore and unfurled them, trying to figure out exactly how to apply them in a way that would stay. In the end she attempted to wrap them so that they covered the wound thoroughly and were firm enough to stay put. They never stood a chance against the two of us. She muttered with a touch of pride in her quiet voice.

Once it was done with stitching his wing, Jericho relaxed for the time being. He wasn't really looking forward to getting his remaining injury treated, but he knew it had to be done. Looking back towards Riley as she started to bandage up his wing, he chuckled quietly and grinned.
"That was a blast.. There's nothing quite like a successful hunt," he said, looking rather pleased at the thought, "I'd definitely be up for another hunting round again in the future."

Now... the chest wound. Malodore examined it carefully, frowning. "This looks like a combination of blunt-force trauma and a stab wound. Bruising around the point of entry... what caused this?" It looked up at Jericho, head tilted to one side.

The grin faded as Malodore questioned the wound to his chest. Shifting a bit uncomfortably, Jericho took a little longer to answer this one.
"I... got stabbed by a finger," he murmured. It was still slightly ludicrous to be poked in that sort of fashion, even with claws. Hopefully he wouldn't have to do much more explaining aside from that.

"... Stabbed by a finger?" Malodore tilted its head the other direction, but didn't question it any further. "Va bene. I can place a balm on the bruising and bandage it... but other than rinsing out the wound to ensure it is clean, there is not much to do other than allow the body's natural healing processes to take effect." It glanced up at Jericho. "The rinse will probably sting a great deal, but if that wound gets infected it could deliver toxin straight to your heart."
... a 2% chance, if that, but it had to somehow chide Jericho for not seeing medical attention sooner!

She stabbed you. The warmth and comfort had faded from Riley's thoughts. Her voice now sounded deadpan, and tense. She stabbed you, in your chest, with her finger.
Riley's fingers bent in slightly, and the crack of her knuckles was audible.
Which finger, do you remember? An odd question, to be sure - unless someone was determined to break the exact finger used to inflict the injury.

"..Yes. Stabbed by a finger," Jericho repeated with a sigh. Most of what Mal said didn't bother him. Cleaning the wound was going to hurt like no tomorrow for sure. It was the bit about the potential of infection and toxins going straight to his draconic heart that had him frowning more.
"..Yeah let's get this cleaned up," he mumbled before glancing back at Riley, "I think it was the right index."
As he said this he held up his own broken finger, not that he felt she needed to know which one it was.
"Exactly.. what are you planning on doing, Riley?"

Malodore nodded and took the last of the cleaning solution. "Lie back, per favore. It will be easier if gravity can assist in getting the solution into the wound."
It also glanced back at Riley. Protective, are we not? it broadcast to her; the thought was overlaid with a faint flicker of amusement... though it wasn't too terribly pleased about Jericho being in such a state, either. Now that it had gotten over its initial frustration about the dragon's reluctance to seek professional care, it was starting to get properly irritated that someone had caused him damage in the first place.

Collect a new souvenir. Was Riley's cryptic answer to Jericho's question. Though, if one thought about it hard enough, it really wasn't so cryptic at all.
Riley shifted so she was no longer behind Jericho, allowing him to lie back as he needed. Her eyes lifted up to Malodore, brightening considerably when she felt it's thoughts seeking out her mind. Are you forgetting how protective I normally am? I need not remind you of the gnomes, I assume. Her eyes crescented slightly in affection. No one deserves to be hurt this way - especially not Jericho. Her eyes turned down to the wound on his chest, and her expression twisted, as if she would be frowning if she had a mouth to do so. I just happen to feel inclined to do something about it. Especially if she ever tries again.
