I haven't posted my concert review yet, so here it is. *WARNING: It is long*
Okay, so I went with a friend of mine named Nicole. We decided to go early, maybe because we were bored...not sure...but we got there 5 and a half hours before the doors opened. XD We hung around outside, talked to some Bon Jovi fans, took pictures of their tour buses, took pictures of us and their tour buses, froze our asses off, went inside to warm up, went back out side, froze our asses off again, went back inside, etc. Then we went inside and bought some merch. I got a t-shirt, and a necklace. Then at 6:30 the doors opened, and we went in and found our seats. (8TH ROW!! RICHIE'S SIDE!!) We had a GREAT view of the stage.
The opening band came on at 7:30, Thousand Cures I think it was...local Toronto band....pretty good! They played for half an hour. After they went off, we sat around and waited half an hour, then Bon Jovi came on!!
In the beginning they had the screen down, so you couldn't see the stage. Then, they started with 'Last Man Standing'. Once we heard the first riff, the crowd went crazy!! The screen came up, and we could see Richie, David, and Tico. Me and Nicole had a PERFECT view of Richie!! No heads in our way or anything. <3 I swear, I almost passed out from all the excitement and awe. I had to hold on to the seats in front of me! Then you could hear Jon singing, but we couldn't see him. After looking around for a little while, we found him way at the back in the crowd. I thought it was cool that he was in the crowd for the song. We couldn't see him as well, so we just watched Richie for the rest of the song. XP
Then Jon came up to the front, and they went into the second song. After the second song, Jon read his "prepared statement" about the plane incident. For those who don't know, when they were flying in the night before/that morning, their plane skidded off the runway. All were okay though, and Richie told us that he spilled his drink. Poor Richie. It sucks to spill your drink. Especially when you weren't done with it. XD You can watch the clip of this "statement" on
http://www.bonjovi.com if you click on videos. It's under "Have A Nice Day". After this, they played 'I'll Sleep When I'm Dead'. XD
Then they played a whole bunch more songs. I won't go into detail on every song, because it would take far too long, and no one I know has the attention span to read one of my review for that long. XD But they all rocked. They played some really great songs that I loved, and sounded and looked great. I was beyond thrilled when they played 'Wild Is The Wind', because that's an older one that I didn't expect them to play. But I loved it because it's one of my favourites.
I was also beyond thrilled during Bad Medicine, because Richie is awesome in that song. Here's a little clip of why (note: this isn't from my concert, and I didn't take it, but it shows you what I'm talking about. Also, the sound quality is kinda crappy, as it usually is when you're so close. The Richie thing is in the beginning.) :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEIaTVbPA_A&search=Bon JoviAt one point, I was right up at the front, for like three songs. I could've stayed up there the whole time, but I felt like I was going to pass out and there was nothing to hold on to. XD
After they played a bunch of songs, they said goodnight and left the stage, but they came back a couple minutes later and played some more songs, then did the same thing again. XD Two encores! Yay! At the end, Jon said "If there's anyone here still sitting on their a**, please rise for the playing of the national anthem." Then they played 'Wanted Dead Or Alive'. XD Jon sang the first line, then got the crowd to sing the first verse and chorus, then Richie sang the second verse and chorus, and then Jon sang the rest. It was awesome! <3
After it was all over, we went back out to the main foyer thing, and bought more merch! I got a cool promo picture thing, a tour program, and another necklace to send to my friend Bre. Then we went outside and some guy was giving out free Bon Jovi breathmints. XD It was a Rogers advertisement, but we got some anyways. The guy was saying "Make your breath smell like Bon Jovi!" They were pretty crappy mints, so I gave mine to Christie and Katie. I think Nicole just threw hers out. XD
And then we went home, and went to sleep because we were tired. XD
