"Doctors that might actually do their job? Mankind might have a chance yet." Alba took a breath and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Sorry," he apologized, straightening up again. He really needed to keep his comments, especially the sarcastic ones, in better check. On the other hand, there was one matter he definitely did need to bring up.
"Say, Claire. Do you think you could, maybe... take his gun collection with you? Or is there anywhere else to store them? I mean, you looked like you knew how to handle them, and it would take that guy only a second to get himself into trouble." He nodded at the door for emphasis. "I just think it'd be safer for everyone if firearms weren't one of those troubles." Not to mention, knowing the weapons were out of the reach of the delusional gunman would ease Alba's nerves a hundred fold.

She wasn't quite sure what to think of the doctor comment - they'd done a good job fixing up her broken arm, after all - so she just ignored it. The gun request, however, was given little thought. "I don't think he'd let me take them," she said with a frown. "You saw how he freaked out when I took that one. Besides, if by 'trouble' you mean 'shoot himself' then you have nothing to worry about. Other people, too. It's not going to happen." Not after the last time she was in here, it wouldn't. "He just needs to stay in bed and rest, I'm not sure when he'll get over this concussion. Hopefully soon," she finished with a small sigh. Hopefully.

"I... suppose you're right." A part of Alba wanted to blow it off with a joke, maybe something like, "If he shoots me, I'll haunt you," but he couldn't do it. Weapons were still one thing he just did not joke about. "Stay in bed and rest. Gotcha." Claire seemed to know what she was talking about, but Alba still wasn't convinced. He would have asked for another room by now if he didn't trust Lucas with that collection, but concussed-Lucas had just thrown something at what Alba assumed was a trusted friend. Alba wasn't anywhere near the point of being anything like that. After a moment, he asked, "Think he'd miss the bullets, at least?" Good gods, he hoped he wasn't sounding desperate about this.

Yes, rest was the most important thing right now. Stay in bed, rest, and... What? He was still on about Lucas' guns? "He's not going to do anything with them. What are you so worried about?" She asked after a moment, hands on her hips and with a confused, slightly miffed expression. What was his problem?

If he chewed on the inside of his mouth much more, Alba was going to start drawing blood. He finally shook his head and answered, "It's... nothing," forcing another smile. He couldn't maintain eye contact with her for more than a second at a time, though. "Forget I asked. Um..." Alba glanced at the door again. He couldn't hear anything from Lucas, and Spook wasn't acting like a Whismur, which was hopefully a good sign. "Should probably head back in."

He looked nervous. Scared, even. Why didn't he even want to make eye contact? "He won't do anything with them, not to himself or anybody else," she said pointedly, lips pursed and trying to keep the displeasure from her voice. That said, she took his suggestion and opened the door again, letting the three of them back in. While Alba obviously thought something bad would inevitably happen, she had no such thought, and expected to find the concussed man asleep in his bed. What else would he do?

Merry had listened quietly throughout the conversation, nodding when she was addressed despite her anxiety. Room, bed, rest. A simple formula, made simpler by her ability to use Hypnosis. When the door was finally opened, she proceeded inside quickly, moving to assess Lucas's condition. He had indeed fallen asleep, possibly even as soon as the pair had left, though he would continue to insist he wasn't sleepy while sleeping if he could. The Chimecho, tiny brow inclined in worry, curled up at her human's shoulder.

She was right. Of course she was right. Why was he getting so worked up over this? Alba inhaled deeply through his nose. Actually, he knew exactly what his problem was, and that was half of the problem. Keep it together. Just keep it together. The trainee nodded to acknowledge Claire's words, not trusting himself to speak again yet, and moved to follow the other two into the room. For once, Spook didn't make any attempts to jump in his face and scare him, and for that, he was grateful. She did look at him with her own dose of concern, though, and perched on his right shoulder.

Well. Lucas was sleeping - as expected - and Alba seemed at least marginally less worried. Perhaps. Actually, maybe that was just her imagination, but it didn't really matter at the moment. "Alright, I don't think there's anything else I can do. Either way it's late and I think we could all use some sleep, so I'm going to head back to my room," she gestured vaguely with her hand in some direction behind her. "I'll be back in the morning and.. a lot, probably," she said with a small sigh, reaching up to pinch the bridge of her nose. A lot, definitely, until he was better. "Anyway, good night Alba, good night Merry." She didn't know Spook and Lucas was fast asleep, so with that said and, if neither made any objection, she would head back to her own dorm to sleep.

Merry chimed quietly in reply, careful not to wake her human. She needed some sleep herself after facing off against a Kyogre, of all things, but she would remain awake as long as she could. The poor Chimecho couldn't help but yawn at the thought.

Alba simply continued to nod at everything Claire said. That is, until she started to leave, and he snapped back to his senses. "Claire?" he called quietly after her as she reached the hall. He almost hopped to where he could stand in the doorway, like he wasn't sure whether to stand inside or out. The trainee dug into his pocket, and pulled out his room key which he held out to her. He could find Lucas' copy for using later. "Almost forgot this. And... Thanks. For everything."

She paused outside the door, quirking a brow at Alba's odd behavior, but gratefully accepted the key and slipped it into her pocket. His thankful comment caused her brows to furrow in mild confusion, as if she had no idea what he was thanking her for. She hadn't done anything she normally wouldn't have, hadn't gone out of her way for anything.. Her friend was in need of help, so it went without saying she would give it. "You're welcome. Good night," she finished with a tired smile before turning and walking toward her own room.
