Laya had been greeted by the queen herself, this was a pleasant surprise. She reached the platform of the castle and got to her feet. She brushed off the dirt from her clothes and steadied herself before looking at the queen. She didn't feel it was appropriate to make direct eye contact so she focused her vision on a spot close to her eyes, trying to make it seem like she was making eye contact. Sometimes it was disrespectful to look your superiors in the eyes and sometimes they demanded you look them in the eyes or it could be considered rude, either way you couldn't win.
A new guard approached the queen and bowed to her, generalizing his duties toward her. Laya just kind of stood there in an awkward way, unsure of what to do. She didn't want to interrupt their conversation. More out of habit than anything else she placed her hand upon the hilt of one of her short swords, she didn't mean anything threatening by it.
"Dear queen," she said bowing gracefully. She rose, her hair floating around her face for a few moments before landing back upon her shoulders. "My name is Laya and I wish to seek refuge here, if you will allow me to do so. I am a skilled archer and hunter, I could be very useful to you."

Orcus turned his attention to the young girl who had climbed the tower. "Strong-armed at least." He commented and then quieted himself. He stood as a respectable elf with a wide smile but lowered his head so as to show full attention and respect towards the Queen. He kept his weapons in mind, just in case something were to happen but he didn't expect anything and even if something did, it wouldn't be anything that he couldn't handle. He looked the girl over as he did to the human a few seconds ago, he didn't think much of her.

"My nanny said it was my mother..." "...my butler says it is my father..." "...I say it is an annoying blue light that wont go away" Violet Moonbeam Violet started at both of them for some time with out saying anything. She looked them both head to toe then said "You two aren't elven are you?" She figured the boy was at least some form of elf but she couldnt figure out the girl. "Who are you, and why do you need to stay here? Not that im unhappy to see a guest"

"Uhm." He swallowed. "I'm drowen your highness." He saluted. "Not much difference, actually." He looked serious. His eyes wer focused on nothingness as he looked straight ahead with hand to head. He began to think of a few things to get his head off the subject quickly. He was thinking of swinging around his halberd, of what differences there actually were between elves and drows and how the dark elves connected them both in brotherhood. He also thought about his home but them returned to the moment at hand. He looked at the Queen respectfully.

Laya was shocked momentarily. "Your majesty," she was at a loss for words...unable to explain herself properly. She brought her hand to her mouth, using her index finger to trace the outline of her lower lip. Her dark, blue hair fell around her face as she hung her head to stare at the ground. So many thoughts were going through her mind right now. Some of the negative and some of them quite the opposite. "Your majesty," she continued, "I am an elf. I come from a very distant land so my features may be slightly different but I am of elven blood." Laya brought her hand to grasp her necklace, she needed some kind of comfort and out of habit she had reached for her mother's memento.
Laya brought her eyes to the man next to her. He seemed elven to her but he was a darker form of the race. She had only seen two in her lifetime but the features were unmistakable. She respected him in a sense for being such a rare variety of the species but apart from that she really didn't care much for him. He was going to be a guard and she planned on being a hunter, they wouldn't have to chance to get to know each other.

"My nanny said it was my mother..." "...my butler says it is my father..." "...I say it is an annoying blue light that wont go away" Violet Moonbeam Violet blushed "oh im sorry madam! I didnt see your ears, and the ears are the man difference and elf has" she said a little embarrassed. She turned to the boy who was a drowen. He seemed nice but you never know with drows considering they are just dark elves. "I trust you, but i'll be on my toes for a little, sorry its not your fault" she said hoping he would understand.

"Of course, my Queen." Orcus nodded. "Though you waste your energy to keep your eyes on me. You can walk without a doubt that I will serve you well." He gave a smile, as was polite when making such a comment. He was serious about it though, he wouldn't be able to sleep if he was on duty, he played his role in the Elven Domain's system with pride and he had the utmost respect for the Queen. So mush so that he had broken all ties with his old queen when he addressed Violet.

"My nanny said it was my mother..." "...my butler says it is my father..." "...I say it is an annoying blue light that wont go away" Violet Moonbeam Violet smiled and said "you seem like a gentlemen, im sure you'll be helpful around here." She fiddled through her pocket and found her ring of keys. She selected one and handed it to him. "Here, this is the key to your room" she said then turned towards the girl "And will you be staying here or getting a cabin in the city?"

Laya brought her hand to the back of her neck and rubbed it nervously while she smiled at the queen. "Sorry, I know I have some funny looking ears in comparison to the elves of these lands. I understand the confusion though and it's alright." She brought her hand back to her side as she watched the queen hand Orcus a key for his room. Laya was completely unsure about what she wanted to do. She wasn't sure if she wanted a room here or a cabin in the city. She thought for a moment before making her decision so she was ready whenever the queen took notice of her. "Um, I think I'd like to stay here...if that's alright. The forest is a better place to hunt."

"Thank you, my Queen." He saluted, fist to heart and bowed his head gently in response to the compliment. Orcus then looked up and took his key with a smile. "If I sleep then it will be lightly, I just request that you not keep any complaints to yourself. Search for me at any hour of the night and I will be at arms in a moment's notice." He then put away the key, under his armour in a small pouch of his robes. He stood tall, at guard, with ears out and eyes wide as the Queen turned her attention to the new host.

"...I say it is an annoying blue light that wont go away" Violet Moonbeam Violet handed her a key from the ring and put the ring back into her pocket. "Well its nice to know this big house will finally have more people in it" she said containing her excitement. She was happy because she hadn't have any true friends since she was just a little girl.

Orcus remembered his duties. "It's always nice to have a huntress in the castle and following during travel if you decide on it." He looked at the queen and began speak very seriously, "As your personal guard, I must ask that you show me your room so as to enchant all openings if you haven't had anyone to do it already. I would also like a basic understanding of your daily schedule so that you may take advantage of me as much as possible." He was sounding too much like a contractor. "I would rather not leave your side for a second but if it's necessary then I would like to know ahead of time." Orcus showed his light-hearted smile after explaining what he had to do so that nothing sounded too grave. "I'm sorry for all the trouble but it's my job to request this of you now and not leave it until later."

Laya gladly accepted the key she was handed. She placed it in a secure place within her coat. "Thank you, my Queen Moonbeam. I am sincerely grateful that you are allowing me to stay within the castle." She brought her hand to her waist and leaned forward, giving on last final bow. "If you need anything please let me know. If you require any type of animal for a feast or even a particular plant, should you not choose to consume meat, I will be glad to assist you." She rose from her position and felt she had run out of things to say. Rather than have the situation become awkward she felt it would be best to explore the area. Orcus saved her from having to speak more as he began to go over proper procedure with the queen. "If you'll excuse me." She turned and departed to explore the nearby town.

"...I say it is an annoying blue light that wont go away" Violet Moonbeam Violet waved a small good by to the the girl as she left then turned back to Orcus. "Ok, well i dont really have a schedule. Since hardly anyone come to visit i dont do very much." She said a little sadly. "Come and i'll show you my room" she said then turned around and started walking up a big stare case. At the top she walked about a hall way and open the door at the end.
