Darem It says 'Thou shalt not kill.' That includes killing yourself. That's what I was thinking. I guess most of us think a like razz , lol. Ecclesiastes 8:8 No man has power over the wind to contain it ; so no one has power over the day of his death. (I don't know why I added that).

Wakeboarder-kid7 you guys are missing a very important point, samson. He killed himself. He didn't allow God to kill him, he said "so that i may die with these people." Also in Hebrews chapter 11, the faith chapter, it says that Samson will be in heaven. He could have had God save him and restore his sight, but he diecided that he wanted to die, and God gave him the help to kill himself by giving him his strength back. But God didn;'t realy give Samson his strength back. Samsons strenght bore a relation to his hair which had grown back over years of inprisonment. God didn't take or give his strength. well except the blessing that was bestowed upon Sampson at birth.

Lazarus The Resurected Wakeboarder-kid7 you guys are missing a very important point, samson. Not quite....Samson's hair didn't give him his strength...I might be able to explain this, but it'll take quite a few scriptural references... First (concerning his blessing): 2 A certain man of Zorah, named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, had a wife who was sterile and remained childless. 3 The angel of the LORD appeared to her and said, "You are sterile and childless, but you are going to conceive and have a son. 4 Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean, 5 because you will conceive and give birth to a son. No razor may be used on his head, because the boy is to be a Nazirite, set apart to God from birth, and he will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines." I highlighted the important part of this scripture...but I'll need another scripture to show you it's importance... here: 1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD: 3He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. 4All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk. 5All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow. 6All the days that he separateth himself unto the LORD he shall come at no dead body. 7He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head. So, it wasn't his hair that gave him his strength, it was his adherence to the Law of God concerning Nazarites. Second (concerning his strength): 24 The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the LORD blessed him, 25 and the Spirit of the LORD began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol. and: 17 So he told her everything. "No razor has ever been used on my head," he said, "because I have been a Nazirite set apart to God since birth. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as any other man." 18 When Delilah saw that he had told her everything, she sent word to the rulers of the Philistines, "Come back once more; he has told me everything." So the rulers of the Philistines returned with the silver in their hands. 19 Having put him to sleep on her lap, she called a man to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him. And his strength left him. 20 Then she called, "Samson, the Philistines are upon you!" He awoke from his sleep and thought, "I'll go out as before and shake myself free." But he did not know that the LORD had left him. 21 Then the Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes and took him down to Gaza. Binding him with bronze shackles, they set him to grinding in the prison. 22 But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.plus: 25 While they were in high spirits, they shouted, "Bring out Samson to entertain us." So they called Samson out of the prison, and he performed for them. When they stood him among the pillars, 26 Samson said to the servant who held his hand, "Put me where I can feel the pillars that support the temple, so that I may lean against them." 27 Now the temple was crowded with men and women; all the rulers of the Philistines were there, and on the roof were about three thousand men and women watching Samson perform. 28 Then Samson prayed to the LORD, "O Sovereign LORD, remember me. O God, please strengthen me just once more, and let me with one blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes." 29 Then Samson reached toward the two central pillars on which the temple stood. Bracing himself against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other, 30 Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines!" Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived. These last three Scriptures show the three phases in his life...he was born and blessed, he was stupid and the blessing was removed, and he repented and was blessed/avenged. As a final note....I don't think it was years before his hair grew back...the Bible doesn't say the time, but it doesn't sound like it was much more than few weeks at the most. Sorry for all the text. Also, the verses I found were primarily found in Judges, though one was found in Numbers.

Sampson let himself be killed. If he was so strong he probably could have saved himself in the process of bringing down the building. Or God could have saved him. And what about Jesus. He didn't kill himself, but he let himself be killed. I know it had that great huge purpose, and he was resurrected and stuff, but if God had wanted to, he could have done it a different way.

Shouldn't you be worrying more about this world than the next? I mean, thinking about your afterlife (heaven, hell, purgatory etc.) is important, don't get me wrong, but like some guy said, "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow." What's most important is the here and now.
