Troa watched with a smirk, following her calmly as she charged. Following the arrow, he smirked as he saw the arrow start to glow. Suddenly it shattered and vanished in her mouth, leaving him to only condense some of the shards into a shield to cover his complete side she was charging on. As she grew close, the shield expanded and attempted to encase her in a shell of ice. "Keep in mind you're opponents abilities while you're fighting. If I was able to summon a spear and have it shatter, anything I can project would eventually do the same." He said calmly, as he threw one of his blades so it would arch around and come from behind her to try and cut off her back escape route as the shield was taking care of the front and sides. "Also keep in mind their control..." He added, as some of the other shards rose up from above her and then shot down. They melted slightly when they neared her as to not give her a fatal injury, more like being shot at with bean bag bullets... that were made of very cold water. "And lastly, keep in mind probability for any kind of surprises." He added, smirking a little as an aura blast shot off of him and froze the ground around them with solid ice to try and cut off any and all traction her paws had with the ground. However in the best case, she would be caught by the ice and then be motionless. As this happened, Troa jumped into the air and his blades started to grow. They then formed onto very different looking blades, that were about twice the original length and looking like wings with shards flaking off of them. As he fell back to the ground, he readied a downward strike with both in an "X" swing but was going to stop right before it made contact with her... if it did.

((No prob, I didn't know any of this stuff was even thought up until I looked into it after I saw the anime. I find the concepts very interesting, though I alter them a little sometimes when role playing XP ))

Maiara felt the arrow suddenly vanish in her mouth, causing her to pause for a moment in confusion as his ice shield began to grow towards her and as the dull ice pelted her back. Not feeling the cold due to her warm fur, she growled slightly and turned around quickly to see the blade coming at her. It seemed he didn't entirely heed his own advice as she felt the ice forming beneath her paws. Too bad for him that she was an arctic fox, and grew up in arctic north. Her paws were adapted to running and skidding on ice as they were covered in fur and very densely padded. She was able to crouch down and dart forward, the blade barely skimming her side, as she skirted away from the ice that was slowly encasing her. She barely made it out of the way when she saw the sir smiles leap into the air with his freakish blades, creating an 'x' that landed on top of her, but due to her small fox size, she was able to crouch down, the blades only hitting her dense fur. Maiara could also tell he wasn't going to put all his strength into it, so she knew he wouldn't go any further with his 'x' to cut into her skin.

She crawled slowly out from under the swords, sitting a few feet away while she licked the side that got scraped pretty good from the sword; curious to see what he would do next.

Troa smirked a little as he let the swords shatter and vanish in his hands, then snapped his fingers to shatter the ice as well. Lighting a smoke, he waved his hand and created a chair out of ice. "Good, not bad at all." He said with a grin. "You make good use of your agility, as well as your transformation's natural capabilities. You just need to focus more, and take some more mental notes on your opponent as you fight them." He said with a shrug. "Everything else will come with time." He added with a smirk, taking a drag from his smoke. "I'm sure in a few years, you'll be able to beat me with little problem. I wasn't anywhere near as good as you are now, at your age." He added with a grin. "I'm getting the feeling you weren't putting your all in though, granted I wasn't either. It'd be interesting to see what you can actually do one of these days." He added with a smirk.

"I don't know. I don't have magic ice or magic swords." She told him simply, having shifted back. She wasn't sure if she'd be able to keep up if he had been using all his tricks to their full extent. Putting her hand on the side that bled, it began to glow softly as she healed it. Healing always made her feel exhausted, but it was better than letting the cut go unchecked or going to the infirmary. She hated the infirmary. Maiara eventually smiled back, "I hope we be on same side then." She told him, also wanting to see his full potential. It was always fascinating to see all the different kinds of creatures and people at the school; even though she rarely got to see any of them fight.

Troa grinned a little, nodding his head in agreement. "There's just one thing you should keep in mind." He said, taking a drag from his smoke. Exhaling, he paused for a moment as he tried to think of how to put what he wanted to say into words. "Your opponents in a real fight won't be forgiving, at all. They will use any trick possible, so you want to think of escape routs, counters, keep in mind your abilities and limits as well as your opponents." He said, trying to think of an example. "For instance, remember when I was tryin to trap you with the ice? The water that fell on you, those would have been spikes in a real fight. When I threw my swords at each other, the explosion would have been much larger as well. Even when I covered the ground with ice, it wouldn't be too far out there to automatically assume that I'm not just trying to get rid of your traction on the ground... but that spikes would also rise from the ice." He said, taking another drag from his smoke. "What I do is underestimate myself, and overestimate my opponent. That way I can have at least a few ideas of what to expect, as well as how to react to it." He added with a shrug. "But like I said, it all comes with experience." He added with a grin.

Syla had stayed out of the clearing while they were fighting, only peaking once to see a tiny explosion emit from sword like things. After that, well she just decided to stay put and help some withering plants. It was a really healthy environment to say the least though. She only found a couple of wilting flowers and she wandered away from the fighting scene into the forest just a little bit more to find something she could be useful at. When she walked back into the clearing, seeing as they were done, took a look at the two people. The girl had a small gash on her side that was slowly healing while the man was smoking. She crinkled her nose at it for a second before turning back to the forest girl. "Your alright?" She asked simply, seeing as it was healing. But it was always polite to ask even if it was pointless.

Now sitting on the ground cross-legged, Maiara rested her elbows on her legs as she nodded slightly, to smile man and then nodded again to the nature student. "What is the species of you?" She asked him before frowning and growling slightly to herself. Maiara knew what she said was wrong and quickly spoke again to try to correct herself, "What species...are you?" Correcting herself slowly, she knew she had fixed her words well, even if it did take longer. She had to get better with this whole English thing.

She knew she would always be at a disadvantage agaisnt people with great powers like Troa because she couldn't counter it with magic of her own. Hopefully she wouldn't have to seriously fight someone with that kind of power. Or have someone on her side to help. Maiara was more of the hand-to-hand type, or tooth and claw. Although she did have other powers, they were pretty useless in a fight in this world. She could fight spirits, but that would be a bit strange. "What you do?" Maiara asked the girl curiously, referring to what she had been doing when she and smile-man fought. She was fine now, but pretty tired after healing herself. Maybe a little bit hungry too.

Troa sighed a little, taking a drag from his smoke before speaking. "I'm a human, plain and simple. I've just had a bit more fighting experience then most." He added with a shrug, taking a drag before adding. "I'm going to assume you prefer yourself to fight mainly in a melee fashion... reminds me from an experience in my past. Ended up gettin my a** kicked pretty badly by a dude who only had gauntlets." He said, sighing a little. "The only magic he had was being able to increase his strength for a period of time... but still one hell of a fighter." He added, remembering the fight. Troa was barely able to land a single hit.

Maiara shook her head, not quite believing him. What normal human could do that? It didn't make sense to her. "Humans can do what you do?" She asked him, pushing for more information. Watching him, it was clear he enjoyed smoking quite a bit. She let her eyes follow the smoke drift higher into the sky before returning her attention to him and his story of a man he fought, her head now resting on one palm. "You very young when fight man?" She asked, trying to figure out how long ago it was.

Troa nodded his head at her question, flicking the smoke butt into the air. Snapping his finger's it froze and shattered into dust, floating away with the breeze that blew past them. "Yeah... probably around seventeen...?" He said, not exactly sure when it was at this point. "His reflexes and planning were perfected to a point where he was able to dodge my magic, or use the spikes I sent from the ground to push himself along the ice. I swear, the dude was amazing. I couldn't even feel bad loosing to him." He added with a smirk. "As for humans being able to do what I do... some can. Some can't, but those who have magic ability don't always use the skills I do. Actually most have better magical skills, my sorceries are known as "half-assed" in the human magi world." He added with another shrug.

Maiara watched the object burst into dust as he flicked it away. "I would like meet this man." She said with a slight smile, figuring she could learn a thing or too from such a guy. She did have a hard time figuring out everything he said, and it took her a moment to respond. Taking out her dictionary, she flipped through a few pages, looking up sorceries and 'half-assed' although she couldn't really find that one. So instead she tried to piece the word together. Half of an a**? The confusion was easily read on her face, but she figured she got the gist of it. "Why? You lazy?" Maiara finally asked him.

A sad smile came across Troa's face when Maiara said she would like to meet the man. They had become rather good friends after that match, and was a mentor to Troa for a little while. "Unfortunately..." Troa said, sighing a little. "He passed last year, he was an old man... which actually ended up with me underestimating him like an amateur and gettin whopped." He added with a smirk. He couldn't help but laugh a little when she asked if his "half-assed sorceries" were because he was lazy. "No, it's not that. Not to toot my own horn, but I've taken my abilities to their limits. I can't go any higher then I am now. The reason why their called "half-assed" by true magi, is because the sorceries I use, being the tracing and projection, are next to useless to actual magi. Everything I create is only a replica, thus is automatically weaker then the original since it's strength highly depends on the memory if the item I have. For example, let's say that spear I projected at the start of the fight, Gae Dearg. It was the spear of Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, and is classified as a B ranked weapon. When I project it, it's barely a C class. Normally my sorceries are for creating an item that would be destroyed anyway for a ritual or summin, though the originals are still better to use. It's pretty much useless. If it weren't for my in-born ability to manipulate moisture, I wouldn't stand a chance against anyone in this school." He added with a shrug. He looked over to Syla, and gave her a grin before speaking to her. "So, what brought you guys to the school then?" He asked both of them, looking at each one as he spoke.

Maiara didn't quite believe in limits; it almost seemed this man had given up a bit. She sensed some sort of sadness coming from him, maybe he hid it with his smiles? She couldn't truly tell. It wasn't really her business anyways, and neither was she too curious about the matter. The spirit warrior lost him a bit when he moved on to talk about the specifics of his powers, but she tried to follow on even if the rustle of the leaves and the scents carried by the breeze were tempting. She figured she got the gist of what she needed to know; it seemed to be an interesting art. Blinking, she was a bit taken aback by the sudden change in topic, her yellow eyes darting to the green haired girl to see if she would respond. After a few silent moments graced the clearing, Maiara spoke first. "My people isolated in north. Chief send me here to learn of different people and culture. Very different here." She said with a nod before thrusting her chin in his direction, returning his question. "Why you here?"

Troa couldn't help but laugh a little when she said it was different here, then how it was back in her home land. "Different, might be a bit too polite. Strange, messed up... pends on who you talk to, but I guess different would work." He said with a smirk, shrugging a little when she redirected his question back at him. "Me? Well I graduated last year, so now I'm just bummin around as the janitor until I can find a different job." He said with another shrug. "Not exactly the most ideal situation, but I got food, and a roof over my head. I can't really ask for much more, when it's basically just bein handed to me." He added with a shrug.

Messed up? Maiara scratched her head. Maybe he was right. Back at the human schools, she had encountered a lot of violence, and it almost seemed beyond animalistic too. Animals killed to eat, to survive. They seemed to do it for fun, but it often got to the point in which many did fight to survive. She hated the gangs she had fought up against. They drove her mad, and they were the reason she was sent to Reeds. Beating up a few too many humans got her quite a bit of attention. "What job you want?" She asked him curiously. If not janitor, then what else? Teacher?
