It was a short time before Silia landed at the creek. She felt odd leave what were essentially two complete strangers back in her cave with her babies completely unprotected. But they both seemed nice enough, and even if she didn't entirely trust Dawna, the girl was blind and obviously very injured. There was no way she'd be any match for a dragon. If she caused any trouble, she figured Hara could deal with it.

Dipping the bucket in the water, she pulled it out and sat it carefully on the bank. "Let's see....What else am I going to need? I've got some old cloth back home, that'll work for rags and bandages...." She gathered some straight, sturdy sticks for a splint and a few plants that were good for keeping out infection and relieving pain.

Looking up, she could just make out a slight glow in the patch of sky through the trees. Gathering the supplies, she carefully took off, heading back up the mountain. Landing in the cave, she took the supplies over to where Hara and Dawna were resting. "Alright, I've got everything I think we'll need. I just need to grab some rags form the back."

Walking back, she shifted into her human shape, sorted through the clothes that she and Achiu had gathered to pass undiscovered in the human colonies. She pulled out some of the items that would work well as bandages. She also grabbed another, smaller metal container that she could place over the fire and a small knife.

She returned with the last of the supplies. "Alright. Hara, could you be a dear and get some of that water heating on the fire please? Now Dawna, I think the first thing we need to do is to set your leg. I'm going to have to cut the leg of your pants." She slipped the blade of the knife carefully into the ankle hole, gently holding Dawna's leg as she used the blade to slice up to just past the girl's knee.

Pulling back the flaps of fabric, the damage was worse than she had feared. The skin was broken and the bone was visible under it. She sucked in her breath in sympathetic pain. "Ouch! Ok, we're going to have to put this bone back in place before we can clean and splint it. It's going to hurt pretty bad. Here, you can bite this." She handed her a rolled up piece of cloth. "Hara, if you aren't busy, could you hold her? On the count of three, I'm going to yank down and push the bone into place. I shouldn't take long, but it'll probably feel like forever." She gripped Dawna's ankle firmly with one hand and placed her other just over the break. "One, two, THREE." She gave a sharp yank and a shove, cringing a bit at the sound of the bone snapping back into place.

Dawna's eyebrows raised at the revelation. "Really? You just met? Huh, that's neat. Must have been fate that brought you two lonely dragons together."

She heard it when Silia returned. She listed to her bustle around the cave, and noticed when the sound of her movement changed. It didn't sound like a large, four legged lizard anymore. It sounded like a much smaller, two legged creature. Almost like a human. When Silia returned, her voice was still recognizable, but had changed, becoming smoother, less grumbly.

But she didn't have the time to think about it. "Alright, go ahead. I can imagine these clothes are pretty much ruined anyway." When she felt the cold metal of a knife blade against her leg, then a warm human hand touch her, it took most of her restraint not to jump. What was going on? She was completely confused.

But then Silia was speaking to her again. "How dad is it? Do you think I'll heal alright?" She held out her hand and took the roll of cloth she was offered. "Ok, Do what you have to."

Hara nodded, switching to human form to more easily finish the task. She had just filled the second bucket and placed it close to the fire when Silia asked her to hold Dawna. "Sure. no problem." She slipped herself behind the human girl, wrapping her arms around her. "It's alright, Dawna. Just lean into me and you'll be ok."

Dawna was completely weirded out when she felt what was obviously a human female slip behind her and held her. She made a mental note to ask them about it when she got the chance. For now, she put the cloth in her mouth and bit down then grabbed hold of the arms around her waist. "I'm sorry if I hurt you, Hara," she mumbled around the gag, closing her eyes and braising.

On the count of three, her hands clenched tightly around Hara's arms and she let out a scream, that cut off as she nearly passed out, slumping back against Hara.

Making sure that the bones were aligned as properly as they could be, Silia looked up and saw that Dawna was nearly unconscious against Hara. She quickly took a clean piece of cloth and dipped it in the cold water bucket, then laid it on Dawna's forehead. "Dawna, come on. Stay with us. The worst is over now." She used the cloth to wipe the blood and dirt from the girl's face.

When Dawna seemed to focus back, Silia rinsed the cloth and moved on to cleaning her leg. "Ok, I'm going to clean around the wound now. It'll probably hurt, but shouldn't be as bad as realigning it." There was a seepage of fresh blood oozing out of the cut. 'Hmm, must have reopened some of the smaller vessels when I moved the bone. At least it isn't bleeding too badly.'

As she sponged away the dirt and blood, she decided to distract Dawna with some talk. "So, I bet you've got a question you're dieing to ask right now, don't you?" She chuckled a little. "Yes, dragons can change ourselves to look human. It's rather simple for us, once we've gotten the hang of it."

Dawna felt the cool water on her face. It felt good and helped clear away the fog that had gathered. "Mmmm. I think I'm ok now. Thanks."

When Dawna came around, Hara decided she might as well help Silia clean her up. "Here, why don't you sit up a little, we'll get you out of these dirty clothes and get you cleaned up." She helped Dawna pull off her shirt, then managed to figure out the smaller contraption that was underneith it, then slipped out from behind her, laying the shirt on the rock behind Dawna for her to lay on.

Once the girl was settled, she grabbed another rag and dipped it in the warm water before starting to wash her up.

She cringed a little when Silia started washing her leg and was a little embarassed when Hara removed her shirt, but her concentration was pulled away from the pain when Silia started talking. "Wow! That's amazing. That's not something that's in hardly any of our myths." Then a thought occured to her. "Wait. If you can all turn yourselves human, How come you didn't use your human forms to hide yourselves back when you used to live in the human world? I mean, wouldn't it have been easier?"

Hara answered before Silia could. "Easier?" She snorted. "This form is more conveinient at times, like when performing delicate tasks like this, but it's not who we truely are. I don't know about all dragons, but if I stay in this form too long, I start feeling really weird, and the only way to get rid of the feeling is to shift back."

When Dawna asked why dragons didn't stay in their human form to fit into human society, Silia felt a burst of anger flash through her. She had to take a few deep breaths and remind herself that the girl was just a child and ignorant of what it was to be a dragon. "We shouldn't have to hide who and what we are. That's exactly why our parents and grandparents left your world and settled on this island. Until the humans found us here, we didn't have to hide what we are here. We could be our true selves without having to worry about anyone trying to hunt us down."

Having finished cleaning the leg, she grabbed the plants and a mortar and pestle and began to grind them up into a salve. "Ok, this salve should help take care of the pain and prevent infection." She spread it over the wound, then put a clean cloth over it, then laid the sticks around Dawna's leg and bound them with long strips of cloth. "There, how does that feel? Any place else that you want us to check? Besides sore, how are you feeling?"

Dawna felt herself blush. She could hear the anger in her new friends' voices. "I'm sorry. I guess I wasn't thinking. You're right, you shouldn't have to hide who you are."

Hara finished cleaning Dawna's upper half. "It's alright," she sighed. "I guess we're just a little touchy. But I didn't see any major injuries. You're pretty lucky. You could have been busted up really bad the way were bouncing off that cliff."

"Yeah, I know." She stretched a bit checking herself over, being careful not to hurt herself any worse. "Actually, except for being a bit sore all over, I feel pretty good, all things considered. Just tired. Umm...." she blushed a little bit, looking down at her naked chest. "You don't happen to have any clothes or even just some cloth I could use to cover up with?

Silia nodded. "Hara's right. It's not exactly something we could entirely expect a human to understand. I mean, you can't shape shift."

She yawned and stretched a bit. "Hmm, I think it's time we all get some sleep. It's been quite the evening."

She blinked a bit when Dawna asked for some clothes. "Oh, of course. I forgot. You humans get cold without clothes, don't you? Umm, just a second." She went back to the clothes pile and pulled out a pretty but sturdy dress.

She brought it over and handed it to Dawna. "Here, will this work? It's a dress. I've worn it a couple of times, and the humans seemed to like it..."

Dawna took the dress that Silia offered her. "Thank you." She examined the dress and realized what the fabric was. "Oh my gosh. This is silk. Thank you so much, but are you really sure? I mean, this had to be expensive..." She held it back out for Silia to take back.

Hara chuckled a little bit. "Dawna, if Silia gave it to you, I think she meant it. Besides, dragons don't place the value on material things that you humans do. The only reason some of us even keep human things around is for the convenience or for trying to pass as human if we decide to go into human villages."

Silia smiled and gently pushed the dress and Dawna's hand away. "Don't be silly. Hara's right. I'll admit, it is rather pretty, but I have many others, and I can always get more. I really do want you to have it. Now, slip it on and I'll get you some blankets. Humans aren't used to sleeping on stone and dirt floors, are they?" She smiled again and walked over to another piles of cloth.

Filling her arms with blankets, she also grabbed some more wood and through some of it on the fire and stacked the rest a short distance away.

"Here you are. I'll just help you fix up a bet so you don't hurt yourself anymore." She helped arange the blankets, then stepped back.

"Well, I'll keep an eye on things, but if the fire gets cold, there's wood to your left. If you get thirsy, there's a bucket of water on the right. If you need anything, just call for me. I won't be far." She turned to Hara. "You're welcome to spend the night as well, Hara. It's rather dark out there and I'd feel terrible if you ran into trouble.

(insert their replies here.)

"Alright then. Goodnight, girls. Sleep well. See you in the morning." Reverting back to her dragon form, she slipped back to her eggs, quietly moving the warm rocks and clearing away the ash. "Just in time my dears. Getting a little cold, were you? Don't worry. I'll keep you warm the rest of the night. Rest now." She curled herself around the eggs, letting her own body heat radiate into them. Resting her head on her front paws, she drifted off to sleep.

(As soon as Ela has made her final post, we'll skip to the next morning.)

Dawna accepted the dress back. "Thank you, Silia. I don't think I've ever had anything this nice before."

Normally, she didn't like to let people help dress her or do anything as simple as putting together a simple bed of blankets. But she was so sore that she didn't argue with Silia as she assisted her.

It took her a few minutes to find some position that was comfortable, without some injured or bruised part of her being twisted or pressed into the rock. As she laid down and closed her eyes, she heard Silia in the back of the cave, talking to her babies again. 'I wonder why she hasn't mentioned them? It's almost like she's trying to keep them a secret from us. Weird. I might have to pry a little tomorrow.' With those thoughts and others running through her head, she drifted off to sleep.

Hara gave Silia a grateful smile. "Thanks. I mean, if you hadn't invited me to stay, I probably could have made it home, but I like it better not having to." She glanced back toward the corner she had seen Silia go to and talk to her eggs. "If you want any help with anything, just ask. I'll be more than happy to do whatever I can."

Finding a quiet place, she changed back to dragon form and curled up, wrapping her tail over her nose and slipping into unconsciousness.

Thanatos was already up doing a last minute check on his plane. He sighed " I wonder what it is this time." he said and he recalled the way to the lab. He smiled " Oh boy this is gonna be fun!" he said and started to talk with the other pilots. He made sure to watch time carefully so he could get there at a good time. He still thought about what the man said yesterday meaning he could probably be transporting something. Despite the warning Thanatos wasn't going to take it seriously at all. He went back to his plane and took off for the lab. It took him a bit to get there but his plane touched down. He got out taking off his helmet as he waited by his plane for whatever he was supposed to fly off to the mainland.

Maggie woke early that morning and was in the lab before many of her employees. She was anxious to get this done and over with. The sooner to make the Board eat their words.

As soon as the guards were in, she summoned them to her office. A few minutes later, there was a knock on her door. "Come," she barked.

The head guard entered. "You sent for me Ma'am?"

"Yes. I want that big green crated and ready for shipping ASAP, is that understood? No mistakes."

"Yes Ma'am. We'll get right on it." She waved him off and he left.

He went down and got the other guards, then gathered the equipment they were going to need, including a large steel crate and a tranquilizer gun. Then they went down to Achiu's pen. Once he was unconscious, they used a special lift to put him into the crate, then the door was bolted shut and the crate taken out to the landing strip.

As soon as Thanatos landed, Maggie was summoned down tot he landing strip. She took her time coming down and breezed out with a rather aloof air. "You're Thanatos Spyridon? I have a large crate I need delivered to the mainland. If you succeed, I'll pay you $250,000. Donaldson told me he already warned you of the consequences if you should fail. If this is acceptable, my men will help load the crate and you can be off.

He nodded ' Of course its acceptable, what could I possibly be transporting!" he said and shrugged ' Lets get it done, but you don't have to pay me that much its only 200$ for transport per item no matter what p" he said. Thanatos wasn't a business man he usually stuck with the fee's he set even if it was dangerous it was just the way he did things.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 14, 2011 3:58 pm

Maggie raised an eyebrow. "As for what it is, I don't really believe that's any of your business. Though, if you were intelligent, you should probably be able to figure out the contents for yourself. As for your fee, if that's really what you want, then so be it." With a wave to her men and a fast incline of her head to Thanatos, she turned on her heel and marched back inside.

The men quickly dashed off and were back shortly with the crate and loaded it. Donaldson came out just then and handed Thanatos $250 cash. "Ms. Daniels usually pays by check after the job is completed, but for some reason, she has made an exception in your case. You had best be off before she changes her mind."

Achiu woke before the sun rose. He knew that unless he could manage to escape this morning, he would most likely never see Silia again. The problem was, he knew that these cages were unbreakable. He had tried many times when he was first brought here, with obviously no luck. He figured his only chance was to try and make a break for it when they let him out of the cage to put him in whatever they were going to use to transport him.

Luck wasn't with him, however. When they came for him, they hadn't even put the keys in the lock before they shot him with some strange dart. It stung terribly and Achiu roared in anger. But it wasn't long before he realized something was wrong. His vision began to cloud and his body became numb. He tried to fight the feeling, but it was no use. Soon he completely blacked out and collapsed to the ground.

The next thing he knew, he was waking up inside a dark metal box. There wasn't much room for him to move around, and he didn't have much strength yet, but he did his best to make his presence in the box known. Hopefully his strength would return quickly and he might be able to break out before it was too late.
