For a moment, Shun looked up at Mitsu with a glint of hope as she said she loved him. However, that was quickly dashed as he heard the rest of the sentence. His gaze diverted back down as just that much stung him considerably.
'I didn't know what I wanted for a long time," he said coldly before the words softened some, but it still held some bitterness to them, "I'm emotionally dense, what can I say. Before a few days ago I didn't even think I had a heart to begin with."
Shaking his head at that, he let out a sigh.
"But you don't need to hear any of that crap.. it doesn't really matter right now."

Mitsu flinched slightly hearing that cold tone, realizing her words really weren't helping. He sounded so bitter and despite what he had said it was all her fault. If she hadn't asked him to sleep with her....if she hadn't been so selfish....he wouldn't have had to go through all of this.
"It does matter. You're upset because of this. If I hadn't..," She did her best to keep her composure but her eyes were already glassy and threatening to gather tears. "If I hadn't been so selfish...I feel like you wouldn't be going through this. It really is all my fault...I'm so sorry." Her words were becoming a little strained as she forced back the tears, it was incredibly hard not to cry.

"Selfish?" he frowned at her words, "How were you selfish? You don't feel that way about me and I doubt anything would have changed that. Even if you weren't with Desmond.... it still wouldn't change. This... this would have happened sooner or later."
Shun really didn't blame her. If anything he was more bitter about the way things turned out.
"I can't blame you... for how you feel or don't feel. This is just... how things are..."

Mitsu focused on the floor in between them, "I just wish....I could make it better but I don't know how." When she glanced back up she couldn't help but catch sight of the clock. A little wide eyed she looked at her watch. Her walk over had taken her longer than she imagined, she must have been going slow. School was nearly over and she was supposed to be in the science room immediately after.
"I...I have to go..." Mitsu cringed lightly hoping Shun didn't think she was just leaving to escape, as she grabbed her backpack off the floor. "W...will you come to school tomorrow?" She hoped he would, she didn't like the thought of him sitting in his room miserable out of his mind....it must have been how he had felt about her when she had been so depressed. That thought only seemed to squeeze her heart all the more. He had cared so much for her how could she not have seen it? And yet all she could do in return was hurt him.

When she said she had to go, Shun's eyes shifted over to the clock. Oh right, she likely had another session with Suto today. Slowly, he pushed himself to his feet.
"Maybe..." he uttered listlessly. School never really mattered much to him and he really didn't want to have to put up with it now. Not looking at her, he made his way to the door and started to head to the science room. He hated dealing with the science teacher, but maybe he could at least distract him one way or another.
Again, his pace was slow as his body felt pretty weak from a mixture of a heavy heart, and lack of food and sleep.

"W...wait, Shun. Shun?" Mitsu stood up and tried to get in Shun's way as he headed toward the door. "W..where are you going?" Just by the way he walked she could tell he didn't feel all that well. "You don't look like you feel very good. Maybe you should...get something to eat and rest for now?"

Stopping when Mitsu stood in his path, Shun looked at her with those soulless eyes he adapted over the past couple days. Shaking his head, he just tried to get around her.
"I'm going with you to the science room..." he mumbled, "Not hungry and can't sleep anyway.."
Both were true. As crappy as he felt both emotionally and physically, he just had no appetite. Any attempts at sleep he had just resulted in him tossing and turning in his bed with very little success at settling down.
In the back of his mind, he felt he didn't really deserve any more. He was just a killer who probably crushed the hearts and lives of many. It was only fair that he ended up miserable, himself.

"But...." Mitsu's worry seemed to multiply as he moved on around her. He didn't need to go with her...he didn't need to do this...especially on her account. "Shun, why are you doing this?....You don't have to.." She asked as she followed behind him, her hands clinging to the straps of her backpack so tight her knuckles were white. "Please...just....stay here and rest and I will check on you later, okay?"

"No point in resting.." he said as he continued on, "I need... something ... to do.."
Shun just didn't care whether that something involved killing someone or standing in the line of fire for Mitsu. He may have been depressed as hell, but it didn't change how much he cared for her. Though, in his current state of mind, he was likely to be more reckless about things.

"Something....to do?" Mitsu almost couldn't believe he had said that. This is what he considered something to do? Throwing himself into the line of fire on her account? With a sigh she followed behind him since it didn't seem she was going to be able to get through to him. "Please...don't do anything...rash okay?" She said softly as they continued on.
The walk seemed just as long going back to school as it had been leaving. The last bell of the day had already rung and the students were on their way out. Making her way back into the building Mitsu headed toward the science room in silence. She really hadn't made the situation any better, if anything she had made it worse. The thought that she was a horrible friend just kept welling up until the very idea threatened to crush her.
Walking through the door to the science room in a solemn way, Mitsu looked up toward Professor Adolphus as he seemed to finishing up grading papers.
"You're right on time," He looked up to see Shun had followed her in as well. "And you weren't in class today but here you are now. Fair enough, I have an assignment for you." Suto said casually as he continued to mark away at the papers in front of them until the nearly bled red.

Shun didn't reply to Mitsu's plea and just kept walking on slowly. He was silent throughout the trip to the science room as well, though now and then he would glance up towards the girl. His gaze never lingered long as various thoughts struck him, causing his eyes to fall to the ground once again.
Stepping into the science room after her, he briefly looked towards Suto.
"Sure, whatever," he said to the man. Perhaps he'd be able to take out his frustration and sorrow onto someone else after all. As short lived as the relief would be, it was still something.
Leaning against the wall, he kept his eyes averted from either of the others in the room.

"Assignment?" Mitsu looked between Suto and Shun unsure what the meant. She hadn't exactly been coherent when they made their little deal and she had no idea of the details involved.
"It's none of your concern, Pet," Suto mused as he filed the homework away and stood from his desk. "Now if you'll both follow me we have quite a bit of work to do today."
Mitsu sighed a little but reluctantly followed as Suto led the way out of the room and down the hall to the main office. In through the office and teachers area they headed into the basement, the foreboding area that held more secrets than the students could even cook up rumors for. Further down the stone lined walls Suto turned a corner kicking in the stone that moved a portion of the wall out opening up a secret passage way to go even further down.
As soon as the passageway was opened Mitsu could feel the blast of cold moist air. The atmosphere down there was much like a cellar or cave but much more depressing.
"This way," Suto motioned for them to go ahead of him so that he could close up the passage after.

Nodding slowly to Suto, Shun went on to follow both teacher and Mitsu. He was lagging behind a little from the others due to his slower pace, but he wasn't too far behind anyone. Had he been in his normal state, he would have speculated how this area of the school had remained hidden for who knew how long.
That wasn't exactly the case, so instead his mind was locked onto the general situation he was in. He just couldn't let up on it.
"So what do you need?" he asked, still sounding a little lifeless, just as his gaze still held that distant look to it.

Walking into one of the sub rooms down below, Suto grabbed up a folder off the desk there and held it out for Shun to take. "The details are inside. A little retrieval mission. You'll be a good doggy and fetch what I need won't you?" Suto smiled rather wickedly now that no one else was around to see it. "There will be a bit of silencing needed as well." Suto would leave it up to Shun to look over the pictures of the person he was after and the items in question that he would need. There wasn't much written down to read but there was a profile of sorts and a schedule of the person he was after.
"And now for you, Dearest Heart," Suto continued to smile as he sorted through the random vials on his desk, picking up one that held a rather strange looking liquid. It almost looked metallic, swirls of teal and silver constantly shifting within. "I just finished this last night and I would like to see what it can do." As usual Suto gave no warning of what it might do as he uncorked the vial and held it out for Mitsu to take.
Slowly Mitsu held out her hand for the vial, her fingers wrapping around it lightly and bringing it back toward herself. She wished she knew what she was in for but at the same time was glad she didn't. The mixture didn't seem to have much of an odor but she wondered about the taste.
"W..what is it supposed to do?" She asked sheepishly.
"Why don't you find out," Suto suggested as he waited for the girl to comply.

Nodding as he took the folder, Shun waited on opening it up and seeing the details. It shouldn't be too hard, and he certainly wouldn't regret what he was about to do. Before he could go, he spotted Suto holding out some sort of mixture to Mitsu.
Narrowing his eyes, he went in to try and take the vial from her. There was no telling what that s**t would do. As he did this, he looked towards Suto.
"I'll drink it," he said shortly.
