Ayil tried to pin down the girl by her voice but was having a horribly difficult time. "I.. don't think its stupid." Ayil said, her hand gently finding Zus' on her hip. Ayil felt offended that the woman, who's name escaped Ayil, would rename a person, particularly Ayil's first... "What?" Ayil said, she had been off in thought and her head snapped to Zhi, "...boyfriend? He.... he came after you did, I'm...sorry?" Ayil said, her face contorting in confusion- then a slight hurt. Ayil had the immediate want to flee to her room and call Anya, ask her sister what she should do, beg for advice. But she had to be independent, that's why she was here anyway. "I'm...blind." Ayil stated, somehow managing to completely void her face and voice of emotion, but Ayil smiled, one of those smiles that had a slight edge to it, "In definition, I cannot see." Ayil said, her voice dripping with an in case you don't know the simplest of things tone. "Zus has been helping me..." Ayil said, putting a slight emphasis on his name, helping her with what? Get to her house? Get her to new feelings, the feelings she couldn't explain, or didn't know how.

The left side of Zus' body flexed showing his displeasure in the girls blatantly rude and distasteful manners. Zus was the only one with that right dammit. He was the one whom could bring people up of break them down. "If you must be so rude, I had not known about you either, though I must assure you that I am not a loud person and do not wander about into places people prefer me to not be," That was a half lie of course. He would find himself breaking into Zhi's room now, looking through her stuff. Anything she had that could be used against her. To shut her little b***h mouth. Zus would take and do with what ever he pleased... Maybe those ugly creatures in the tank he thought to himself. He could pour them out onto her bedroom floor. He had fun thinking of ways to torment this b***h, make her someone whom would do anything at his word out of fear of what he would do. Rather enjoying the thought of a little slave girl, not that he cared for slavery but he's never had a servant, just soldiers.

...Oh. Blind. Right. Zhi knew what that was! Ayil didn't need to explain it, but, well, Zhi wasn't very offended – the girl lived with Mao, she was way used to those knowing, belittling tones by now. She looked at the man who she now had personally dubbed as Tàijiàn with an elevated eyebrow, studying his expression, eyes for a brief moment before choosing to look at Ayil. They looked like Andy's and she already learned that Andy wasn't someone to be trifled with – well, she would have if Zhi was old enough to really get life lessons like that down her throat easy. She was still pretty bitter on Andy, to the point where anyone reminding her of the girl automatically got a few dozen negative points right from the start.
“So?” She retorted easily enough to Tàijiàn with the skills of any teenaged girl. He didn't need to intend to walk in on them or do something stupid, she knew from experience! Since she didn't care about being rude to the man and the girl was blind, Zhi had no qualms in turning around to crouch next to her pets and study them. “You can't see? Is that why you're with him?” She said with a small giggle – ah, so much fun~ “I think a dog is better.” She suggested, frowning to herself in thought, “Dating just because you can't do anything on your own is so.. shallow. You should only do it for love.” Her flippant comment intended only to offend the man had flipped in a second with meaning to give some good advice – after all, Zhi knew this stuff real well! She had watched more than enough Disney movies to know that~!

Ayil crossed her arms under her breasts, her annoyance level rising. This girl was almost as annoying as Anya. "Do you want the room... or not?" Ayil asked, her voice teetering on a threat, a threat that Ayil wasn't sure she'd keep with, but either way, she could threaten, right? "I'm allergic to dogs." Ayil said, her voice slightly condescending. Ayil found her way to the kitchen after the phone began an annoying ringing. "Hello.... yes, Anya, I am at home. You called my house, I answered- No, Anya, I'm not being smart-mouthed with you." Ayil could be heard saying, she was probably the only person in the world to not have a cordless phone. "Uhh... I went on a walk, I met someone- uhhh" Ayil blushed furiously, "Yes, Anya, I am still... I don't see why this is your business." Ayil said, pressing her head against the fridge door. "The rooms, yes, I filled them, there's a man named Zus- yes, Anya, a man... I can't remember the girl's name, a lot like you, really, quite annoying.... hopefully she won't wake me up with a pitcher of ice water like you do." Ayil said, she could be heard walking around the kitchen, cleaning up the glasses and plates from before. "No, I am not evicting Zus, Anya." Ayil said, there was a loud voice on the other end and a clattering sound of Ayil dropping the phone. "Ayil... Ayil, find the phone and stop dropping s**t." Could be heard from the receiver. "Damn blind girl, always dropping random s**t." "Anya, yes? Sorry- I said sorry! No, you do not need to come kick Zus out, he's absolutely lovely." Ayil said, sitting on the floor by the door, under the phone hangy-up thing. "I am not lying, no you may not speak to him, Anya. Anya, I am supposed to learn independence, if you come and kick him out how am I ever going to learn?" Ayil sighed, her sister's voice grating on her nerves more. "Oh, what's that Zus? I gotta go Anya, I'll talk to you later-" Ayil found the hangy-uppy thing and hung up on her sister.
"I'm sorry, did I miss anything of sustenance?" Ayil asked, her hand finding Zus, she could tell it was Zus due to the muscles. "You didn't kill the new girl, did you?" Ayil asked, slightly concerned. For some reason she could basically feel Zus' darkening mood towards Zhi.

Zus snarled slightly under his breath, he was rather aggravated by the new girl's inane ability to be respectful when power is not in her favor. "I would only be so lucky as to do so." He said in a soft manner to Ayil's statement. Obviously her sister did not particularly like the thought of Zus being in the house. Oh well, wasn't her choice anyway really. Though Zus stood there giving Zhi a look of distaste and displeasure, she was either going to learn her place or pay for it. What was the girl's problem anyway? It was rather obvious why she had to move somewhere else, he was surprised anyone could harbor a child such as her and not kill it... that's what he would of done at least; there were laws against such things probably but it wasn't like they would ever affect him.

...Was that a threat? Zhi didn't take long to catch Ayil's words, standing up again to look back at her immediately with worry that, duh, Ayil couldn't see. Still, it was hard to stop emotion when it came. Before she could apologize and start to plead, Ayil had left already to the kitchen. She frowned at how sudden that was, but she wasn't going to yell at her for it! Because it was a phone call and, more importantly, Zhi needed this room! There weren't many other options – the apartments were too expensive and she wasn't going to stay at the inn run by the same family Andy was a part of! Who knew if the girl would visit and then have keys to her room?! ..Plus, Alanis was staying at the inn and.. no. Just, no. She waited impatiently for Ayil, listening in with a raised eyebrow – It was Zhi! How was her name hard to remember?! She sulked idly with that, humphing at the comment of her being 'annoying'. River didn't think she was annoying..! But, this was her landlady! She had to be polite! Like she was with Ma- er.. Okay, like she was with J-... Like she was with River! But, then, she loved River and – oh. Ayil was back!
She smiled slightly before it went back to a frown at the comment. “As if.” She rolled her eyes before she could stop herself. She had survived Andy and that Masquerade! Like she would be killed by some punk dating a blind girl. ..Oh, however true that was, though.. she should probably.. She cleared her throat to get the woman's attention, “So, since we'll be living together, we should probably get to know each other. Starting with name's.” Yes, that made sense, right? And then Ayil wouldn't be tempted to kick her out! “Zhi Xiqui, my uncle runs the clinic, I'm unemployed.. But, I'm going to be an idol, so I'll pay back anything I borrow. I'm a student, too.” She added to help excuse that lack of a job thing. Ah, introduction circles! It was like therapy all over again!

Ayil nodded slightly, "We aren't dating." Ayil said, pulling her long hair over her shoulder and running her hands through it. "I work at the inn... as a maid." Ayil said, committing the name to memory. "My sister.. furnished the downstairs, I think there are pictures of her, her name is Anya, she's seven minutes older than I am." Ayil said, fidgeting with her hair. "If you are so bent on people remembering your name, why do you rename others?" Ayil asked, it was a slightly pointed question, but any ill had faded from her voice. Ayil left out her inheritance, managed by her sister, because she didn't think money was really that important; after all... what did a blind girl have to buy? "Anya will call often, sometimes visit." Ayil ground out, like any sisters, Anya and Ayil would bicker, fight, and make up.

Zus reached for and held Ayil's hand, half to reassure her that she was by him, the other half just to get the feeling that he controlled her. He listed his glasses and looked through the dark lenses, he stopped looking angrily at the girl and just had her fade off into the back ground. "Listen, just be respectful and I'm sure we can all coexist, you're room is upstairs. Like Ayil said Bay window." He said in an attempt to gain control from the argument and gain leverage against Zhi that he could use against her later.

A therapy fun that no one wanted to participate in. Zhi rolled her eyes – yeah, she remembered people like Tàijiàn who refused to share. They normally got a firm talking to in private, but there wasn't anyone to do that to him here.. Unless Zhi did it, which she would, if he wasn't her landlady's boyfriend-... Oh? Zhi perked up when Ayil clarified that. He wasn't her boyfriend? Which made her have no 'real' connection with him? Ha! And here she thought she would have to be nice to both of them! She started to smile to herself in a mischievous manner before she discovered where the woman worked. She held up a hand although Ayil couldn't see it, ignoring Tàijiàn completely now that he wasn't important to her anymore.
“One, he gave me his nickname. It's not like I have to call him whatever he wants me to – he's not the boss of me.” Only Alanis was that! She could give him whatever nickname she wanted! “Two, you work at the Inn?” She raised both brows in awe that anyone would want to do that! Well, Alex did, but she was pretty sure he could hold his own since he was related to River. “With the Valentine family? Word of advice, quit.” She crossed her arms at the warning, “The whole family is a complete mess! Their mother was a porn star who killed her husband, Holly is a satanic, lying slut and her younger sister is a psycho.” ..Was there a family more messed up than that? Zhi was pretty sure the answer was no. Of course, she was kinda bitter herself over the family since Holly didn't turn out to be a pre-op like she had hoped and Andy had beat her up.. But, it was still all true!

Ayil raised an eyebrow, "No he didn't, and he said please, so you should respect his manners, be polite, and oblige." Ayil said, she felt like she was a referee... or worse, a kindergarten teacher. Ayil mentally swore of children, and any children-making activities for life, just to be on the safe side of things. Anya was probably going to call multiple times this evening, probably hoping that Zus would answer at least once by mistake. If he didn't Anya would somehow find time and come to the island within the next few days to replace him with someone she deemed alright, meaning woman or gay guy. "And I am not quitting. I moved from the city to be independent, jobs grant independence, so I am keeping mine." Ayil said, feeling around for a chair before sitting. "How old are you, Zhi? I'm twenty." Ayil asked, she had lost the woman's location again, but she didn't think it was the greatest of frets.

Zus simply stood with a dead gaze sighing on the inside. He wanted truly to put a gun in the girls mouth and blow her brains out. He couldn't do that now though... maybe later... His mind veered off the the thought of drugging Zhi and doing other disgusting things to her that would land he into a jail cell or a shallow grave at the bottom of the lake.

“There are other places to work.” Zhi pointed out stubbornly with pursed lips, disliking that her warning was going unheeded like that. If her landlady worked for the Valentine's, then Zhi would have a connection to that family and that was something she didn't want. It had taken weeks to get over Andy humiliating her and Holly's rumor of being a pre-op transsexual turning out false only made her hate them more. Then there was that monkey date disaster.. “How could working as a maid be good for a blind woman anyway? Do you know the crime rate here? I heard that another blind girl was molested and you want to go walking into people's rooms alone?” Of course, that criminal had been arrested and stuck in confinement since then, but the point still stood! It wasn't safe! She did answer her after a second of letting that sink in, “I'm seventeen,” She sat down nearby the woman as she said that, “and I'm becoming independent too.” Ayil didn't ask, but, well, it was common ground for them!
She glanced up at Tàijiàn, having trouble ignoring that gaze. “If you don't want to speak, you could get my bags and carry them in. There's a cooler in one of them with kidneys and livers inside, be careful.” She instructed with a point back to the door where her bags still sat, outside and unguarded. “I have to feed them soon, so if you could get one of the livers after carrying it all in, I would appreciate it. Please and thank you very much!” Hey, she said please! Didn't Ayil say that someone had to obey if one were polite? Yes, yes she did. Zhi turned her head back towards Ayil as a thought struck her, “Ayil, have you been blind since birth?”

Ayil started to tap her nail on the arm of her chair in slight annoyance. "Would you really like to discuss this or would you rather tell me what to do and have me obey?" Ayil asked, her voice placid in such a way it could offend without seemingly meaning too. "I suppose that since you're becoming independent you feel the need to order others around?" Ayil said, her nail tapping sightly faster. How nice, a school girl who figured she owned the world. Maybe if Ayil ever got the courage she'd kick her arrogant little tush out? Probably not, but she would set up some serious ground rules. "He isn't a bell boy." Ayil said, her voice still that plain, emotionless and void. "Yes. But lucky for me my twin decided to disgrace our parents, and the daughter they never wanted became their favorite." Ayil said, knowing full well her parents had never wanted to keep her once they learned she was blind. Once Anya got pregnant at a ridiculously young age Ayil got to be the favorite, and she got to be the southern belle her mother always wanted. Ayil brought pity to their family where Anya brought disgust. Though the late Natalie never really talked to Ayil, or Anya, for that matter, she always liked the attention Ayil brought her. Ayil dully noted that Zhi had this amazing ability to grate on her nerves with the slightest of things; the sooner Ayil could combat this with anything, she'd be for the better.

"I will not let such a thing happen to her, and I'm rather tired I will on the couch, Zhi, I recommend you learn real manners before you venture from your comfort zone... Ayil," His voice became soft and serene that the mention of her name, as though it were the calm of a storm, his purring nature crept back into his voice. "Just call for me if you need me." Zus turned around making his footsteps loud so Ayil could find her way to him easily, he made his way to the couch and in a boyish fashion hopped onto it and laid back kicking off his black boots so they fell right at the foot of the armrest.
