Jed got into the ring. He raised the microphone to his lips.
"That's cool and all. But here the thing. You, Mike Landry...I never hated you. Even during our battles, or future battles. I don't hate you. I mean you were doing what wrestlers should do. You pushed the envelope and passed it. I was listen to something you said. " I changed myself into pure evil. I changed myself in order to force everyone else to step up and find the will to stand up to people like me."
The crowd gave a mixed reaction to what Jed was saying.
"You see. I don't hate you. That is something I wanted to do, something I tried to do. Sadly only three or four people were able to do so, but you. You were able to get most of the wrestlers in the back and the wrestler that have come out here and hurt you. You've made them all step up their own game..So. When I say this, I don't care what the people think or the wrestlers, but I don't hate you. I respect you."
The crowd gave yet another mixed reaction.
"I respect you because hey you've done what said you would. A Man of honor. Even if you were to, let say, go back on your word, right now.. I'd still respect you. That's why I wanted to wrestle against you in our matches a few years ago... You said you are going to be there. You were there. You said your weren't going to back down. You didn't. You said you were going to become the best, you did. So if you want to "Own up" I want you to do something that neither of us have done in a long, long time. "
Jed extended his hand for a hand shake. The crowd kept with the mixed reaction.

Landry was truely touched by Jed's words, especially after all of the massive bloody wars they've had against eachother over the years. Jed was one of the reasons that he took on this responsibility in the first place, and shaking his hand at this point was like making it come full circle.
Landry reached out and shook Jed's hand firmly, looking him dead in the eye and saying without the assistance of a mic, "Thank you."

((Sorry. The thread was posted when I was inactive for a bit.)) As Landry and Jed shook hands in the spirit of mutual respect, a short cheer began near the stage, which quickly silenced itself before it spread much further. The source of this sudden enthusiasm was quickly revealed to be Brody Robinson, making his way down the ramp. He held an extra mic in his left hand, while his right took the job off keeping the fan reaction quiet. He wasn't trying to spoil Jed and Landry's moment, and didn't want any fans' screaming to do it either. At ringside, he walked to one of the corners in the fan barricades and leaned back, waiting for one of the men in the ring to break the silence.

"The secret side of me, I never let you see I keep it caged but I can't control itβ¦β
The entrance had barely had time enough to get out the opening riff and two lines of lyrics of the theme for Phoenixfire before the track began to skip. It was a simple audio error on the part of the production crew from all appearances. What came next, however, planted the seed of doubt in any mind willing to allow it. All background music had been stripped to leave the vocals echoing throughout the arena. If whoever had done this intended to have an effect by doing such, they'd get their wish.
βI, I feel like a monster I, I feel like a monsterβ
Phoenixfire had been watching the spectacle from a television set in the back and could not have been more in awe at what a snake Landry appeared to be. It had taken all of her strength not to vomit because such a display from Landry was a repulsive lie. Landry had milked her emotions when he suckered her into become his protege and it had led, through an amazing chain of events, to her rape then death by drowning in a frigid river. Phoenixfire had resurrected but the deed had been done and it was difficult to fathom forgiving this man.
Against her better instincts, Phoenixfire decided to depart from her place backstage where she'd sheltered herself up until that point in the evening. She'd laid low after her resurrection and none had seen her since her debut. Phoenixfire said a quick prayer before she let her hands grace the thick curtain, parting it and stepping out into the glaring light of the stage. She'd shorn her bright red locks to where they fell just below her jaw in the days since her resurrection and had come in a simple outfit as compared to her usual ring attire. Even her image was in question after being given a second chance to live because of the questions that flooded her mind. Those questions flooded her mind now as she stood facing the ring where the man who'd brought her to this uncertain precipice in her life stood with another man he had invited made amends. From where Phoenixfire stood, the same could not be promised for what was to come.

"Not a problem."
Jed nodded as he left the arena to let what ever happens, happens.

Mike nodded as Snypa and Jed left, but then he noticed Brody there in the arena. After how he screwed Brody out of his shot at his EEW Television Championship, he knew the beatdown was about to commense. Then the crowd got louder and began looking at the stage, so naturally he turned to see what the commotion was about and there stood the one person he knew would show up over anyone else. Phoenixfire.
Deep down, there was nothing Landry could do to allow Phoenixfire to forgive him. Landry held his hand over his heart, the point on his chest where Phoenixfire branded him during the King of the Canvas finals. It still burned, but he knew things were likely about to get a lot worse for him. Still, Landry didn't retreat. Whatever came, he was going to take it like a man.

Brody watched Jed and Pyro leave, knowing it was his turn next. He had decided on what he was going to do in the back, but when Pheonixfire showed up, his idea shifted to something different. Pushing himself from the barricade with his free hand, he stepped towards the ring and slid in. Getting to his feet, he looked over the mess of a man that stood before him, and he understood what he was going to say.
"I'll be straight with you Mike. When I heard about this, I had every intention of coming out here and beating the hell out of you. Not just for what you've done to me, but for what I've seen you do to others. What you've done over the past few years has disgusted me as an entertainer, a fighter, and as a man. And after all of that, you expect me to believe that one session of 'retribution' would cleanse you of what you've done?!"
Brody stopped for a moment to calm himself down. It was a strange feeling. Landry hadn't done anything really bad to him. He caused him a few losses and a title, but that didn't matter much to him. The fact that he was getting so angry for things that he had nothing to do with annoyed Brody to no end.
"But something changed my mind. Seeing you like this, injured and near broken, shows me that you're at least somewhat sorry for what you've done. You're willing to repent by throwing yourself to the wolves you've antagonized for so long. To me, that's enough proof that you've turned your leaf. Let me be clear though: If this turns out to be some sort of ploy, I will make your life a living hell. I won't let myself beat an injured man, but when your healed, I'll be watching. I want to believe that your a better man now. Prove it to me."
Satisfied, Brody stretched his free hand to Landry, giving him the benefit of the doubt and showing he was willing to put things behind him.

There was a rush of applause, cheers, and shouts in the arena as Phoenixfire stood like a statue on that stage with her gaze affixed on Landry. She was at loss for what to say because the man had caused her so much pain and heartache from before her murder until after her resurrection, which she hadn't quite gotten over in all the time she'd given herself to recover. Phoenix had gripped the microphone as if she was ready to speak a couple times but hadn't the courage to do so. It took a few moments before she finally worked up the strength to let her voice pierce the noise that permeated the arena.
"I see I left an impression. A mark for mark, Landry. I hope it still burns."
Phoenixfire let the arm with the mic fall to her side as she began her walk down the ramp and towards her target, who was meeting with another he had wronged at that very time. A few moments later, she was up the steel steps and threading herself between the ropes, finding herself in the ring with Landry. Phoenix met Landry face to face and part of her wanted to believe that something were different about him but she knew what trials she had faced at his hand. She just couldn't bring herself to forgive him.
"Do you want another mark or would you rather take a beating? Your choice as always. I'm being awfully lenient either way because I would prefer to do much worse."

Landry had no qualms looking Brody straight in the eye and shaking his hand, saying to him without a microphone.
"I promise. Champ."
Landry gave Brody a respectful nod before turning his attention to Pheonixfire.
Landry nodded when she commented on the burn. He felt it every day, and knew she did as well. Mike grabbed a microphone, he had something to say before he took his punishment.
"Phoenixfire...Athena...Of anyone here tonight, I want to apologize to you most of all. What I did to you...what I did to you was inexcusable and completely unforgivable. I did things that no man should ever have the ability to repent for. I just want you to know...when I did what I did...it wasn't the real me. I became the man I was portraying, and for some reason he was able to take over...I was incabable of stopping myself, in as a result I failed to stop myself from doing the unthinkable. When it was over, it was all the convincing I needed to finish this experiment and finally reveal my plan to the world."
Mike took a deep breath before continueing. He was clearly infuriated with his actions.
"Phoenixfire. That man is dead. Never to return to this world. I know nothing I can say will ever be enough for oyu to fully forgive me, in fact I don't blame you if you think that every word out of my mouth was a lie, i'd think the same thing if I were you. I just want you to find some measure of retribution, anything I can do to make it even the tiniest iota better. And so, I open myself for you to attack me in any method you feel appropriate."
Mike dropped his mic and stood before Pheonixfire, arms spread and completely defenseless, awaiting his punishment.

The lights in the arena began to flash frantically, interruping the two in the ring...
I'm not insane, I'm not insane... I'm not insane, I'm not... Not insane...
'Almost Easy' by Avenged Sevenfold played as a man that Landry had tormented since the beginning of it all stepped out onto the stage... Equipped with a black baseball bat, a microphone, and standing at a full 6 feet and 8 inches... Stood Matt Shanahan. He was not in his usual ring attire, for he was only wearing a pair of black jeans and his boots. His black eyes gleamed with anger as he slowly walked down the ramp. The music stopped once he got halfway down the ramp, as he began to talk.
"... Two years... Two years of torment... Two years of sin... Two years of lust... Two years of complete destruction... And it all ends here..."
The God of Punks stopped at the bottom of the ramp, his eyes juggling between Landry and Phoenixfire... Two people he knew all too well. He waited, eager to see how the two would react.

Landry stood perfectly still. He offered no response, no retort. He simply shifted his gaze to Shanahan for a few moments, staring at him intently before returning his gaze to Phoenixfire, waiting for one of them to carry out his sentence.

Phoenix had listened to Landry's hearfelt plea for forgiveness for the crimes he had committed against her so many nights ago but acknowledging that he deserved anything that he received at her hand. She wanted to strike him with as much force as she possessed because her hurt had been holed up within her for so long. From the moment she had regained consciousness to her re-debut to those difficult days afterward, Phoenixfire had so many things that lit the fire of her rage that were waiting to burst to the surface. She had raised her hand up to strike a terrible blow on the man who had done wrong by her but the lights began to flicker with an intensity that caught her attention. Phoenix let her hand fall to her side as she stepped away from her prey to face her former partner, Matt Shanahan. She kept motionless and silent as he spoke, perplexed by his words. Had he the same bone to pick with Landry as she did?

"Mike Landry... Phoenixfire... So much of my history... Stands within that ring. A woman I have a deep respect for... And a man that I've hunted over and over again..."
By this time, Shanahan had walked up to the steel steps, and slowly climbed up them. He stepped over the top rope, and stood in the ring. He kept by the turnbuckle, his eyes landing on Phoenixfire.
"Ah, Phoenix... An great opponent, and an even better ally... I was shocked to see all that happened to you recently in WWFG... And I formally appologize for not sticking around to help you out. But, you don't seem to have needed help afterall. But now..."
His eyes slowly shifted to Landry. Every muscle in his upperbody tensed up as he gripped his baseball bat tighter, resisting the urge to knock Mike out cold.
"Mike... Landry... The scum of the entire industry... Allow me to recap on what we've gone through, shall we?... It all started... Two years ago... In WWE:U. I was doing great, I was kicking off my career, I had a nice girl... I was achieving more than I thought possible. But you... You came in to the picture. You began to plant your evil in the company. You tried to take my girl. I told you to back off, but did you listen? No... You took her away from me... And I warned her that you weren't what she thought. I warned everyone!... I knew what you were doing, but not a soul believed me..."
Matt paused as his expression changing from anger to shame. He looked down at the mat, before shaking his head and looking back up at Landry, his anger visiblely back on his face.
"I tried to stop you. I tried, multiple times, not just in WWE:U... But no matter how hard I beat you down... No matter how much hell we put ourselves through... You wouldn't die... You wouldn't give up... So I gave up. After so much hell, so much effort... I gave up. Because I knew if I couldn't stop you... Then no one could. No one would be able to stop you...
But, almost a year later... I saw you in WWFG... I came back. Because you tried to 'mentor' Phoenixfire. You tried to corrupt her with your evil. But, as it goes, even when I warned her... I was ignored... Then, there was the match where you assaulted Phoenix... You destroyed your only ally. But, come Wrestlemania... I got back at you. WE got back at you. YOUR PAST... Got back at you... But even that wouldn't keep you down... You came back from it all, more vile than ever... And I couldn't continue... Others could... Others did... But I?... I couldn't..."
Matt stopped his long speech for a moment. The ring wasn't all his, after all.
