Trying to hold back a laugh Rit thought it was cute that Persephone was biting her lip. “Yes that is correct, at least I believe it is. Comrade is a word your people use for a friend that they would trust their lives with and all that is precious to them correct?” Not wanting Persephone to feel unease Rit quickly agreed to head to Aswan lake. “I would be happy to head to the lake. You have mentioned that there are a number of birds of varity there. I would like to see some of them.” She tried unsuccessfully to hide her interest or joy at the prospect of heading somewhere fun with the other purple vixen.

"ah its one definition of the word used out here. There are other definitions but mostly those that hunters or soldiers would use" Persephone pointed out smiling. "alright then I shall lead the way it should take a while but not too long that we get tired out. Ah yes there are a few different birds. Some that even rest on the heads of those fox eating lizards." She said quite giddy picking up on Ritilanishia's mood and having it affect her own.

Her eyes widening Rit wondered what the birds that rested on the heads of the lizards would look like. How did they get by and not get snapped the lizards. Seeing Persephone start to get excited made Ritilanishia smile. It was nice to see the other vixen happy and not sighing. She flapped behind Persephone on the way to Aswan lake wondering what awaited them there in the fowl paradise.

They slowly came to Aswan and Persephone landed on one of the Temples looking out at the island in the middle of the lake and the millions of white birds resting on the water. Temples scattered the hillside like the one she had landed on and crocodiles rested on the shore. Occasionally the water glittered in dark patterns as fish swam by. "well welcome to Aswan, or Swen as most of the outside world calls it" Persephone stated bringing a wing forward to get some sand out of it.

Rit was in awe with what lay before her. The cascade of white from the feathers of birds along the shore made her breath catch in her throat. The large lizards were basking in the sun and the beautiful temples littered the landscape in a tasteful way. Landing softly behind Persephone Ritilanishia walked up to the other vixen’s side slowly. The other phim was stretching her wings and caring for her feathers. Rit stretched her own to make sure she didn’t just land and cramp up later. “This land is… beautiful does not seem a strong enough word to do it justice.”

Persephone smiled. It always made her happy to show off Aswan even though not to many people could be brought here. "Its one of the two hearts of Kemet. This is the place Kaname and I will bring Horus when the elders decide to ascend him upwards into his new form." Persephone stated. "apparently its be the place where all elders grow and often where the two modeities like to rest." she pointed out going into scribe mode again. She wished she could have shown Amun before he left but. Waiting until Rit was looking the other way Persephone shook her head to clear those thoughts. How long was that doomed relationship going to bother her.

In shock Ritilanishia looked to Persephone quicky catching a glimpse of pain. Was it ok for one not of the tribe to be here if it was such an important place? Did Persephone break a rule in bringing her to this paradise? “This is where your modieties rest? Should it more be guarded not simply left open as it is?” Rit looked back over the warm heavenly landscape. It was a jewel of the desert. She understood how it could be one of the hearts of the land. The scent of the land surrounded her like the noise. Rit felt honored and for one of the first times in her life she felt a bit overwhelmed.

Persephone laughed. "oh in kemet, things are guarded differently. Aswan is such a place that unless you know its true name and are shown by some one in kemet you will never find it because the desert will swallow you, that and since the nile is so close most things wouldn't dare attack a modeitiy on its home turf." She pointed out. "as such Atum is pretty lax and likes to show his work off to foxes so if they have good intentions everyone is pretty much welcome." she tried to explain. "well as long as you have permission from a tribe member."

Head still swimming Ritilanishia had to sit down. “So your modietes do not mind visitors to their works? This is surprising. My homeland does have a few temples thought few other than the heads of the Houses, the councils, and the priests who live in the temples would dare venture into the inner sanctums of the temples where the modeities gardens or shrines are.” To enter without the permission of a priest was to risk the wrath of the temple modeity. “This land and it’s modeity are most kind to those who have permission from members of your tribe. Though you should be very careful who is let in. Not all foxes would treat such a place with respect.” A tingle of fear and apprehension raced through Rit. She didn’t want anything to happen to this place, and the thought of a fox disrespecting it made her upset.
(Respect for some things are just far to deeply ingrained into this girl *shakes head*)

"They had the works built in order to show the world they existed. According to stories past down and from Atum for the longest time he was in some prison in the water for eons. So I guess that's where the laxness comes in that and when they where first built modifoxes lived hand in hand with the humans. So it had more protection then. Most days only some of the tribe even knows it exist. However even then Osiris is there and he isnt as open as Atum. Its that island out there that they actually reside in when they dont want to travel around watching the different tribe members and obviously the crocodiles would eat you before normal foxes got in. Horus hasn't really said what the protection from flying foxes is yet" Persephone made a weird face. One of these days she would pry it from him. Maybe Kaname knew.

Listening intently Rit was entranced by the soothing sound of the other vixen’s voice. The history in and of itself was fascinating but with Persephone speaking it Rit found herself unable to turn away. “I am glad that your modeity has a place to rest undisturbed from others. I am also glad to hear that your other modiety Atum is no longer trapped. I can’t imagine what it would be like.” As soon as the words left her mouth Rit knew that wasn’t quite true. She knew what it was liked to be trapped in a life and a role that was to live with. The knowledge that a council member stuck behind a desk in a stuffy back room would be making a list of potential mates that would be brought to a larger council for debate before picking the fox that she would be stuck with as a ‘mate’ for the rest of her life until one of them died. She turned to look at the land and away for the purple phim who made her so happy to spend time with.

" Atum is glad to be free as well. Even though most Deities only really whisper once in a while to us phims. Atum is very chatty or at least tries to be. It takes him awhile to get through but he tries" she stated. It was part of the reason she stayed in kemet. It held her dear friends Horus and Jaci and now the rest of her tribe had a part in her heart. Persephone was a very friendly fox and normally cared about all the foxes she had met. Even the few daeva's
."but..." persephone trailed off and watched as Ritilanishia looked away. She knew it must be that stupid outdated custom her world seem to still practice. She didnt want her friend who was starting to really mean something be so sad about that stupid rule and decided to do a bold move to maybe startle her out of those thoughts. leaning forward Persephone leaned forward and gently nuzzled Rit's cheek before moving back quickly and hiding her face behind her hair again.

Tensing for a moment Rit turned back to Persephone to see the phim hiding once more behind her hair. Realising that she must have looked upset or hurt Rit tilted her head and tapped it with her paw as she had seen done before. “Sorry, I guess my mind just wandered off and left me. My apologies, I did not mean to space out while you were explaining things to me. Is it nice to have a talkative modeity? I have never once heard the voice or even a whisper of a modeity in my entire life in the temples back home so I do not even know what one would sound like if they tried to speak to me.”
Gently she shoved Persephone’s hair aside. “Why do you keep hiding like that? You really need not you know. I’m not going to snap at you.” Rit winked playfully before letting the other phim’s lush hair fall back into place. The fact that Persephone seemed to shy away every time she or Rit touched one another was not lost on Rit though she misinterpreted the cause. Poor thing. She must feel very uncomfortable with a stranger. Perhaps we should do something fun like race along the shore or try and out fly the birds to make her more at ease.
(*headdeask six times over* stupid fox.)

"oh it wasnt that, it was more well I didnt want you to have to think about those codgy old farts" Persephone stated not caring if they could have been young or around her own age but if they followed such stupid old traditions like marrying people off they where old codgy farts. "I thought that maybe it would startle you out of thinking about them. "ah I hide because I'm blushing and I I dont like to blush, yet I keep doing it so easy" she shook her head.
oh and there it was a chance to change the topic.
"Yes its nice actually because you dont have to just rely on Horus to carry messages back and forth as he has other stuff to do. Ah thats weird normally Modeities talk to everyone for them to be silent...." she trailed off and wondered what could have made the modeity that way.

“Codgy old farts?” Small strangled noises escaped Rit’s throat as she tried hard not to laugh. She even had to clamp a paw over her mouth to stop the eruption. That certainly did describe some members of the council that seemed to be stuck in the mud like sticks no matter their age. Persephone’s confession made Rit start to think. Certainly the outworlders had different codes of conduct but was such contact personal enough to make them blush so was this only for Persephone? Thinking back to her earlier close actions with the purple vixen that were normal for Rit. Rit worried that she might have made the other fox uncomfortable.. that thought made Rit worried. She like Persephone a lot and didn’t want the other fox to be upset with her at all. The scribe was someone that was important to Ritilanishia. She cared and tried to help when no others did. Persephone made Rit happy.
Focusing on what Persephone said Rit mulled it over. “Maybe the modeites at home simply view me as unworthy. One of the main things the temples teach is obedience.. I don’t suppose I have shown much of that in regards to the rules in my life.”
