gonk crying nooooo!!!! you forgot contra alto clarinet!!!!! *cries* ... if you decide to add contra alto clarinet thats what i play. i also play bari sax. i could probably play any woodwind if i tried... key words: if i tried. which i wont. cuz im lazy. yeea.

Didn't think anyone would play such an instrument.
I just added you under Alto Clarinet. Hope you don't mind.
I want to learn eather Tenor or Bari sax, but I'll wait for awhile before picking up a new instrument.

Well, on the poll I picked "Bass Clarinet", but I really play the Bb Contrabass Clarinet blaugh I think it's the lowest ranged clarinet, second only to the Octocontrabass Clarinet, and as I recall, there was only one of them ever made and it's in Mr. LeBlanc's collection xd

The Contrabass I use was actually found in the storage closet about 15 years ago at my school, and even back then they thought it was ancient whee They don't make them like the one I have anymore... It's serial number is only three digits long; 869

It's an upright Contrabass which stands to about 6ft razz I'll have to take a picture of it sometime. I found a picture of one similar to mine:

I've seen a couple people from other bands with the paperclip model (the one on the right), but all the judges at festivals comment on how I've got "a REAL instrument" cool

I play bassoon. I was aloud to play my school's contra bassoon once. That made me happy. my band director, whose crazy, also had me learn bag pipes..........that wasn't fun.

I play clarinet for marching season, but I love the low reed section. We're like a happy family.

I would play Contrabass, but they only let the seniors play it.
And you have to be extremly good...
But I think it's such an awsome instrument ^^

I play bassoon. its lotsa fun. I also playflute and clarinet and other stuff but thats not the point. I looove bassoon.

I play bass clarinet--I REALLY wanna learn contrabass...although I don't think my school even owns one... xD

I know it's not a very popular thread, but I'm going to sticky this because there have been so many low-woodwind threads lately.

I'm a flautist, but I really want to play the tenor sax, the bassoon (definitely my first choice of lower woodwinds), and the bass flute. And the harp, but I guess that doesn't really count. =) Also, you forgot the tenor flute (I think it's also called the flute d'amour? Don't quote me on that).

I've never heard of a tenor flute.

I want to play bass flute because I'm really good at getting low notes out of my flute already. Plus I have long fingers, so I could reach. Only problem is my band teacher doesn't have and music for it. And they're like, way expensive...
