Number: #094 Height: 5'03" Weight: 0.2lbs Description: An average Gengar Nature: Ability: Gives full immunity to all Ground-type moves, and to many arena traps. / Shadow Tag prevents all foes from fleeing (including Teleport) or switching out while the Pokémon with this Ability is on the field.
History
Puck was captured by Aulus in Ambergris shortly after he returned to duty after the whole being kicked by Keldeo fiasco.
Personality
Puck. It sounds almost exactly like... duck. Like duck, yes. Duck you, Puck, duck you and all your darned tricks too. Puck and Discord together are serious trouble if not closely watched, they're a lot alike in their love of tricks and surprises. Puck however is far more prone than her grassy friend to seeking approval; she craves it in fact in equal measure to her craving for pulling pranks which often leaves her torn between doing the 'right' thing that will please Aulus and the 'hilarious' thing that will not.

Back on form.
He bent down to pick up the stilled pokeball with only the tiniest of twinges from his ribs and considered that as much of a win as capturing the Ghastly that had been stalking them since they got into town. "Good job you two," he said with a smile to Killer and Thanatos, giving the Sylveon and a scratch and the Frogadier a gentle pat on the shoulder before straightening up. "Your team work is coming along well, we'll have you mission ready before you know it." Thanatos probably wouldn't like that but he'd get used to it; it Paul could, any pokemon could in his opinion.
Tortie, who had been hanging back to watch, padded forward to bump her head lightly against her trainer's hip; Aulus gave her a scratch too. "Time to move on though," he concluded to the Absol, calling her and the pair of less experienced pokemon back to their pokeballs. To the pokemon who remained out he nodded before climbing up onto his back and clipping himself into the harness arrangement that made riding a biped more or less possible. "Alright Char, your turn. Let's see how you do flying down some alleys!"
It had to be said that the Charizard didn't look as though he thought this was an especially bright idea but as an extremely well trained pokemon he lumbered forward and launched himself into the air nonetheless; his master was back on form and he was glad of that, even if it did mean compensating for the downtime with madcap shenanigans he was quite sure would eventually break somebody's neck.
"Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Prelude to a nightmare.
"So." Aulus turned to the team of six, hands folded behind his back. He was trying to seem at ease but he doubted he was fooling many, if any of them. Perhaps the most telling sign of this was Discord; rather than messing around the Serperior was coiled up watching him quietly, cautiously even.
"So. You all know why you're here. Very shortly we're going to the hanger and from there we're going to the crashed Galatic mothership. I don't have to tell you that I expect the best for every one of you on this mission; take care of one another, and everyone else who's with us." Alex and Tam were both coming. He wasn't sure if that made him feel better or worse; on the one hand he would rather they were both safe here at base, but on the other he didn't want to face that place and all the memories it held without people who understood.
He cleared his throat. "So our first priority is safety, followed by our mission objectives." Last time he hadn't made safety a priority - his ribs still ached from that when he exerted himself - but this time it was different. This wasn't just any mission, this was... this was....
He took in a slow breath through his nose and let it back out through his mouth. "If you have to make a choice you will prioritize protecting Alex and Tam; I'll be doing the same and if you aren't, so help me you will regret it if I live long enough." He'd failed Alex last time - some bodyguard he'd turned out to be - but he wouldn't do so again and he wouldn't fail Tam either, or the others if he could help it. Faleen was Alex's... sort of girlfriend? Well Alex cared for her deeply anyway and that was enough, definitions of relationships be damned. It wasn't like he could really put a name to his relationship with Alex come to that, best friend didn't seem like enough.
Aulus sighed and rubbed his neck, he hadn't been able to get rid of the tension in it and in his shoulders for the last week. What if Izaya was right? What if he was just a liability?... Alex and Tam were going and if they were going then he was going. Even if they hadn't been going he would have felt compelled to sign up for this mission; Gods knew he didn't want to go to that hellish place but he couldn't not go either, he couldn't turn his back on it and pretend it wasn't there because it was and it was always going to be if he didn't return on his own terms and... what? Conquer it? Perhaps.
"If we keep sharp and work as a team we should have no problems," Aulus continued, pretending he hadn't just fallen silent for several long moments. "We are going into that ship, we are going to take anything of value, and then we are going to leave. Simple as that." Right? "Right then, if everyone understand it's time we got going." Once he had six nods of agreement Aulus called the pokemon back to their pokeballs and headed for the door with his heart already racing with fear induced adrenaline. What was the worst that could-
No, no he didn't even want to think that phrase all the way though.
The door to the training room closed behind him and Aulus made for the hanger, already imagining the worst all too well.

Patient charts & medical notes 28/06/14 - 30/06/14.
Patient Chart 28/06/14: Agent 'Aulus' Admitted 28/06/14 - Nil by mouth! I'm not FK! This means you Grunt Mace; I don't care where you were doing pre-med you're not Dr. House and you are on report already. - Monitor chest tube. If bleeding does not slow by 17:00 further surgery may be required. - Monitor for signs of internal bleeding. - Monitor right arm for signs of necrosis. - When patient regains consciousness notify Agent Neuron for a cognitive assessment.
Agent Westron's rough notes 28/06/14:
Admission notes: 25yr white male injured in the field (27/06/14). Patient is FTW, major FDGB or maybe GBFD actually. Suspect that patient's Ability is Sturdy, 2nd time in 3 months he has come in CTD but been stabilized. Patient name: Kurt Hayden Codename: Aulus Rank: Agent Admission Date: 28/06/14 As I said, patient is FTW; displays classic primary, secondary, and tertiary blast injuries.
Primary. Pulmonary damage, exacerbated by secondary injuries. Possible minor concussion.
Secondary. Multiple lacerations from debris, some still embedded on admission. Of most concern are three large wounds: one to the dorsal thorax which has cause a hemothorax (again), two to the dorsal abdomen. The hemothorax necessitated the insertion of chest tube (also again); abdominal injuries ruptured the stomach and ilium. Immediate surgery for the abdominal injuries was required upon admission, progress must be closely monitored.
Tertiary. Multiple fractures to the right arm and extensive bruising down the right side from impact with the ground. The fractures are of particular concern; patient displayed acute compartment syndrome on admission and treatment was delayed for some hours while the critical pulmonary damage and abdominal wounds were treated. Performed fasciectomy and set fractures at 16:00, however neurovascular damage may already have been irreversible by that time.
Patient Chart 29/06/14: Agent 'Aulus' Admitted 28/06/14 - Nil by mouth - Monitor chest tube. If progress continues at current rate removal may be possible within the next 24hrs. - Monitor for signs of internal bleeding. - Monitor right arm for signs of necrosis. - When patient regains consciousness notify Agent Neuron for a cognitive assessment.
Agent Westron's rough notes 29/06/14:
Patient name: Kurt Hayden Codename: Aulus Rank: Agent Admission Date: 29/06/14 14:00: Patient shows good progress overall; pulse and blood pressure more stable and closer to normal levels and hemothorax is improving, may be able to remove chest tube within 24hrs. Other lacerations also show good progress. Performed a second fasciectomy on the right arm at 12:30, circulation still very poor; the prognosis is not hopeful.
Patient Chart 30/06/14: Agent 'Aulus' Admitted 28/06/14 - Nil by mouth - Monitor chest tube. If progress continues at current rate removal may be possible within the next 24hrs. Removed at 11:45, monitor patient's breathing closely for 24hrs. - Monitor for signs of internal bleeding. - Monitor right arm for further signs of necrosis. - When patient regains consciousness notify Agent Neuron for a cognitive assessment. Regained consciousness at 12:35. Assessed by Neuron at that time. - Lie about status of Elite Hayes & Agent Tambery if patient asks after them. They're fine!!! I'm not FK about this!!!!
Agent Westron's rough notes:
Date: 30/06/14 Patient name: Kurt Hayden Codename: Aulus Rank: Agent Admission Date: 28/06/14 Detailed notes: 12:50 Patient definitely Sturdy, possibly also Rock Head; regained consciousness at 12:35 and was assessed by Agent Neuron, whose detailed notes can be provided on request. In brief, patient displayed some signs of confusion initially but once prompted with his location he was able to recall the events leading up to his injury and key personal information as well as topical news etc. Patient then freaked the ******** out re: Elite Hayes and Agent Tambery; for now it would be best to be economic with the truth about their conditions. Not FK about this, he knocked over the oxygen tank and nearly ripped out his IV.
11:45 Chest tube removed. Patient is still being provided with supplementary oxygen for the present and his condition will be closely monitored over the next 24hrs.
Circulation in the right arm shows some improvement as far as the elbow but not below. The ring finger and little finger were amputated below the metacarpals at 21:00.

Patient chart & medical notes 05/07/14.
Patient Chart 05/07/14: Agent 'Aulus' Admitted 28/06/14 - Liquids only - Monitor as standard
Agent Westron's rough notes 05/07/14:
Patient name: Kurt Hayden Codename: Aulus Rank: Agent Admission Date: 28/06/14 Patient now 26 year old white male, for the record. He continues to make excellent progress overall, expect to discharge within the week with instructions rest and not do anything stupid and testosterone fueled.
Currently creating a treatment plan; the patient is an excellent candidate for an osseointegrated titanium implant. At present the plan is for the implant to feature electrodes which join onto the nerves and muscles of the residual limb. Electrical impulses will be captured from the patient's nerves with the implanted electrodes before being transferred to a neural interface, which in turn will transmit these impulses through the osseointegrated titanium implant. Finally, the impulses will be decoded by algorithms within the artificial arm - which is fascinating but not my area so don't ask me how it works - allowing the patient to control the limb. Sensors on the arm will feed back through the implant to the patient's nerves and this in turn will provide sensation in the limb. Integrating other features into the limb is an interesting possibility but plans for bells and whistles are a long way down the line as yet and again, fascinating but not my area.
If the patient continues to heal as well as he has been it may be possible to perform the initial surgery to insert the implant well within two months; this will be the first of two surgeries. In more detail, at the first surgery (S1) the fixture will be inserted intramedullary into the residual humerus and the skin will be closed over it. The second surgery (S2) will be possible four to six months after S1. At S2 the abutment will be inserted into the distal end of the fixture and will protrude from the residual-limb skin. In addition to abutment insertion, S2 includes major soft-tissue surgery. The patient will then be immobilized for 10 to 12 days to achieve critical healing of the skin penetration area and soft tissues. After this he will be able to start rehabilitation.

Patient discharge note & treatment plan 11/07/14.
Discharged at 12:30 with instruction to rest and not engage in any vigorous activity until cleared by myself, no not even if it seemed like a really good idea at the time. The patient will return for daily checkups over the next week, we will review the situation on the 18th.
At present we hope to perform S1 (to implant the fixture) on August 1st. It is unlikely that we can bring this forward but if the patient hasn't recovered sufficiently to undergo anesthetic we may have to postpone.
I passed the specifications of the fixture and abutment onto the engineers earlier today, emphasizing the need for precision in the measurements. They will produce the two pieces at the same time so that I can be sure of a good fit before the fixture is inserted; finding out they don't fit together four to six months down the line during S2 would FUBAR the whole process.

Headshot.
He passed the glock back to Char to be reloaded and frowned critically at the target. Well he'd hit it but that was about all that could be said. One of the rounds had gone through the silhouette's head quite by accident, the grouping was completely terrible. He knew that everyone had to start somewhere but it was still frustrating to be so completely useless.
He took back the reloaded gun from Char and nodded to the guidance offered by the instructor; as with karate it all had to start with having a good stance he guessed, and holding your arm positioned correctly.
Another set of rounds went into the target with no discernible improvement; Aulus tried very hard to keep his cool. If he was going to be a truly effective field agent - once he had two arms again that was - then this was a skill he needed to learn, and if he was going to learn then he needed to be patient. Easier thought than done but it had to be done, had to be. He had to expand his pool of pokemon too, he could use a strong defender and an electric type and... well all sorts really, the list got endless if you allowed it to. Definitely those two though, and maybe another psychic type for situations where Asgard would be unsuitable but a psychic would be handy.
More rounds into the target, and then it was time for a fresh one.
This was only his, what, his third lesson? Fourth? He didn't feel as though he was doing any better though and it was driving him mad, it didn't help that even holding the gun up was an effort right now. He was weak, short on energy, and before long he was going to go downhill again; it was inevitable after surgery. He couldn't use that as an excuse to put off working on this though, if he did that he'd probably come up with more excuses down the line because when it came down to it he just wasn't comfortable holding a weapon that was this deadly. Every time you pulled the trigger with it pointing at somebody you had to accept that you might kill them even if you only meant to disable them. One of his poorly grouped shots had gone through the head of that paper facsimile of a person; he could all too easily imagine the blood, the body slumping to the ground. What other choice did he have though? He had to learn this, he had to.
One day the difference between life and death for him or for a comrade could be whether or not he held a gun and was prepared to pull the trigger.
He didn't want to do this but what he wanted wasn't as important as what his friends might need one day.
Aulus took the glock from Char again and leveled it at the fresh target.

Rose.
Vital statistics
Number: #539 Height: 4'10" Weight: 114lbs Description: A pale faintly grey hued Sawk of above average height. Nature: Ability: Prevents one hit KOs
History
Rose was a gift to Aulus from his friends at the dojo he frequents in Camphoreon. Rose had been bought to be a prize in a minor tournament but was quickly re-purposed as a 'get well soon' gift when Aulus showed up sans his right arm.
Personality
Rose is a relaxed friendly pokemon who tends not to get too worked up about life, he's happy to go with the flow of whatever his friends are doing and to work towards whatever their goals are. He loves to train both against other pokemon for battle and against humans to hone his karate skills and help them hone theirs too! If lazing around on the couch is the order of the day though he's perfectly fine with that too, though he will probably get up every so often to do some stretches or press-ups. He seldom has a bad word to say about anyone, though he doesn't enjoy the company of truly vicious pokemon, and would much rather make peace than war on the whole. He absolutely adores the colour pink; his only point of stubbornness is refusing to wear anything else!

Integration.
Thanks to the painkillers and the passage of a few days it was just a dull ache now. Everything had gone well apparently which ought to be a weight off his mind but it wasn't, he still felt as sick and squirmy as he had before the operation. One thing going well didn't mean the rest would and who was to say there wasn't a problem they hadn't noticed? They weren't infallible.
There were things he could do if they didn't fix him, he guessed. He could go into the security department maybe and while he couldn't work in the field he could still train up grunts and trainees... and there was always clerical, which he supposed was probably marginally better than being dead. Marginally. None of that was what he wanted though, he wanted things to be the way they had been before. He wanted to be whole, to be able to do things again without having to think about how he was going to achieve even very simple tasks. He knew he ought to think positive but knowing that didn't make him able to do it, he could not more just integrate positive thoughts into his psyche than he could will metal and bone to fuse more quickly. The only thing he could do right now in fact was cross another day off the calender and go to bed hoping that tomorrow was a bit better than today had been.
He did so, but it was some hours before he drifted into uneasy sleep.

The eyes have it.
There was somebody else on the range; this was hardly unusual but their identity irked him.
It was the pale, chubby little man with eyes like a dead fish who Xander was so inexplicably entangled with; Aulus couldn't imagine the engineer enjoying anything, enjoyment was probably inefficient, so he had no idea what the two got up to together. He didn't really want to know either, the whole thing was creepy and probably deeply unhealthy in his opinion but there would be no telling Xander that. He just hoped the kid never woke up cut into neatly measured pieces.
The superior little snowball had... well it was a gun, a pistol of some sort, Aulus wasn't exactly adept at differentiating between different models yet. With safety goggles on and no expression on his face the small man approached the range and raised his weapon. Aulus watched him as he fired, searching for anything that even vaguely resembled a sign of human emotion. He knew why the little freak bothered him so much, he knew exactly why. Such a cool, impassive stare was all to familiar though these eyes were ice blue rather than pitch black. Agent Frost would probably admire her efficiency.
When the small man lowered the gun Aulus looked down the range at the target and repressed a shiver; there was a neat group of heart shots and another of head shots. Aulus looked at the frigid Agent again but the man's expression was unchanged by the sight of his success, the only sign he gave that he noticed anything was a tiny nod.
Suddenly the blond's head snapped around and the pale eyes focused intently on him; Aulus scowled reflexively. "What're you looking at?" he demanded in a low growl.
Agent Frost raised his brows slightly and cocked his head to one side. He blinked. "I am looking at you, clearly, but I do believe you were looking at me first."
"Maybe I was watching your majestic technique, or admiring your peerless beauty," Aulus countered with a sneer, taking the gun he was going to be using today from Char and approaching a spot on the range.
"Most amusing," Frost said with all the emotion of a brick. He reloaded and turned back to his target.
Aulus showed his teeth in a momentary snarl, turning to his own target and raising the gun hell bent on proving to the Pillsbury Doughboy's sociopathic cousin that he could handle the weapon just fine. The reports of two guns rang out across the range in a duet that sent chills down Aulus' spine. He still didn't like this, not in the least, but he was damned if he'd show any hesitation to the other occupant of the range.
The two men lowered their guns almost as one, ammunition spent.
Aulus inspected his target and then kept on inspecting it in the hope of avoiding the other Agent's gaze, which he swore he could feel boreing into him. He had hit the target but you could only call the shots grouped if you were very generous and possibly slightly visually impaired. Frost's target showed another neat group but this time the little psycho had gone for the crotch; if that wasn't some kind of a threat Aulus didn't know what was.
"You are too tense, that will not be helping your aim," Frost stated mildly.
Aulus got tenser. "Piss off creep, I know that, I have an instructor thanks." Said instructor was currently watching him from behind a protective screen at the side of the range half way down; he doubted his performance had impressed.
"Mmh, as you say," Frost responded, still as cool as could be. "I must confess I am surprised to see you here," he added after a moment as he reloaded his pistol.
"And why, pray tell, might that be?" Aulus hissed, the use of the word 'pray' for inquisition indicating that Frost might be in danger of bodily harm in the not too distant future. A sudden warmth behind him indicated that Char had stepped closer to him; he wasn't going to look around to confirm it but he presumed that the faithful fire type was Looming at Frost.
Frost gave a very slight shrug, unmoved. "Guns simply don't seem like your..." The pale man trailed off and looked him up and down as though he were an inferior piece of furniture before concluding; "Style. Cool-headedness is required to handle a firearm well and that is not a trait I have seen you demonstrate."
For a few moments Aulus simply stared, trying very hard to hold onto his temper. Right now he felt as though he was being pretty cool-headed, he hadn't thrown the little s**t against a wall or anything! "I'm full of surprises, not that I imagine you're capable of processing them. You're one step away from being a machine," he sneered eventually with evident disdain.
Frost gave a reptilian blink. "Thank you."
"You know what? I'm done here." Aulus showed his teeth in a snarl and shoved his gun back to Char because he couldn't, he could not be here like this with this man and remain calm and you had to be calm on the firing range. Those eyes. Cold, calculating, and what did it matter if they were dark or pale? He could kill him, he could kill him so easily and feeling that frightened him. Who thought like that?
"So soon, Agent?" asked light cool tones.
Aulus stalked past the creature that had uttered them, sparing him but a brief snarl. "I'm a busy man, creamsicle, I've got Python to learn." Maybe Alex would be in. Maybe he could sit in his room and work on it and not have to speak, or do anything, or be anything other than what he was which right now was.... Hell, he had no idea.
The door slammed shut.
Frost raised his eyebrows slightly. "Well really."

Foxtrot.
Vital statistics
Number: #570 Height: 5'00" Weight: 120lbs Description: A small lithe Zoroark Nature: Ability:
"Zoroark's Illusion ability gives it the power to create images, sounds, and even sensations that aren't really there. The illusions themselves are based on a Zoroark's memory and imagination, and the ability can be refined and improved through experience and practice. A Zoroark that's seen a video of fire could create an image of flame, but only a Zoroark that's been burned before could produce an illusion that feels like it burns when touched. Illusions affecting multiple senses are more difficult to create and take more skill to make believable. Image and sound are the easiest to produce simultaneously, though it takes practice to be able to make them sync. It takes a lot of compatibility between trainer and Pokémon for a Zoroark to be able to disguise its trainer convincingly - it's very easy to flub the the synchronization, especially the lip-synching, if the two parties aren't on the same page.
Illusions do not augment or alter the Pokémon's abilities in any way; a Zorua that disguises itself as a Metagross will not gain Metagross's size, strength, or additional arms. Zoroark's and Zorua's illusions will disappear if the Pokémon is struck."
History
Aulus stole Foxtrot from a carnival whilst on a training mission with grunt Adam. Since then Aulus has trained hard with her to hone her Illusion abilities, training which Foxtrot takes very seriously of course.
Personality
Foxtrot is quite a serious young lady. She takes herself seriously, her duty seriously, and others seriously too. Its possible she has a sense of humor in there somewhere but it's well buried. She has excellent attention to detail and follows orders to a tee. She has a great deal of respect for Char in particular and spends a lot of time with him, helping him out with whatever he's doing.

Scaffolding.
It looked weird.
Well, okay, fine- it looked weirder.
Aulus gave the piece of metal sticking out of the end of his arm an experimental poke, course it didn't have any sensors in it so he didn't feel anything but he felt a bit better for having interacted with it. It was... scaffolding, he guessed, except you took scaffolding down when you'd finished building so that didn't really hold up as an analogy he supposed but he kind of like it all the same as a non-medical word to use for the thing.
In a few weeks time he'd be able to attach the arm to it, start learning to use it, and then.... Well, he could just get on with life he supposed. He could go on missions again and, hell, just easily do things that he currently struggled with and everyone else took for granted. There would probably be teething troubles but with the last operation passed and successful the feeling of dread that had hung over him for more than half a year seemed to be lifting.
The scaffolding sticking out of his arm was still weird though.

Artemis.
Vital statistics
Number: 133 Height: Weight: Description: An average eevee Pokedex entry: A rare Pokémon that adapts to harsh environments by taking on different evolutionary forms. Nature: Ability: Adaptability increases STAB from 1.5× to 2×.
History
Artemis was created in a lab breeding between Aulus' Killer and Tambery's Jubilee.
Personality
Like her mother Artemis is basically good natured but like her father she loves a good scrap! She seems to have boundless energy and capacity for annoying the less patient members of Aulus' team (mainly Tortie). Killer is very proud of his 'little terror' and happy to indulge her in a fight any time of the day or night to help her grow stronger.

Juno.
Vital statistics
Number: 214 Height: 5'0" Weight: 125lbs Description: Just a shade above average height. Pokedex entry: Heracross charges in a straight line at its foe, slips beneath the foe's grasp, and then scoops up and hurls the opponent with its mighty horn. This Pokémon even has enough power to topple a massive tree. Nature: Ability: Guts raises the Attack stat by 50% while affected by the burn, paralysis, poison, or sleep status conditions. The Attack drop from burn does not occur.
History
Aulus requested a Heracross from the lab, whatever they had to hand. What they had to hand was a faux shiny, recently stolen back from a trainer it had been sold to. Aulus has given up being surprised or annoyed when he gets pink pokemon.
Personality
Juno is a rough tough brawler who would happily down pints with the lads if given half a chance. Strength is all important to her, she has no regard at all for anyone who can't fight well or for anyone who backs down from a fight.
