Bone child couldn't help but stiffle a small laugh at the smaller one's cheek puffing. He let his hollow gaze wash over her and found the babe's over all appearance fairly neat. The small protruding...whatever they were things on her back looked soft and her orange hair really got his attention. Orange colors were always a good mark in his book. His head moved a tad when Odnako pawed and tore up the grass with her hoof. he wiggled his fingers a little near his side and wondering if it felt the same as wearing those mitten things.

Despite all the neat little things that made up the mishap, Osso was soon becoming a little bored of seemingly slightly grumpy little thing. He turned and jumped up on to the first step before something hit him. Maybe Odnako was like Wycliff and liked playing on the slide? Oh, that would be fun! "Odnako like the slide?" Osso asked, turning halfway to face the deer babe while pointing to the yellow curly tube.

A little humming chuckle was given, but Nana decided to not go further with the whole day thing for Gray's next comment/question had grabbed almost all of her attention.

Sitting down, large white tipped and black tail curling around her, the wolf's head tilted slightly. "Wife-wolf? What ees a..a 'wife-wolf'? I am a Noir Werewolf, are they similar, I am not sure....Sharp stick in the eye? I think you have lost me..." another little chuckle was given, but the werewolf was now severly confused by this Gray.

Odnako stared at his finger for a moment before getting the gist, following its direction and staring at the slide. She had never seen a slide before, and naturally had no idea what it might be for. Nothing seemed to be for what she thought it should be, after all; expensive plants were not for chewing on, books were not for tearing up, and baby food was not for painting walls, furniture, or people. But Osso looked like he was having fun, and he sounded a little excited (the good excited, not the excited Gray was after Odnako had eaten another priceless bonsai), so she trundled after him on all fours to get a better look at what he was doing.

Oh, steps. She eyed them warily, then begin to climb up the first one, following Osso's lead. It wasn't easy with hooves, but she was a ratehr stubborn baby, so that wasn't about to stop her. Maybe this would be fun?

Gray sighed to herself, a little sad that it had only taken her five seconds to confuse this interesting new acquaintance. "Oh, I see, werewolf. See, 'were', 'were' means 'man'... were-wolf, man-wolf, right? But you're not, so, wife-wolf, 'wife' means... not-man, right? Not-man-wolf." Even Gray looked a little confused.

"The sharp stick, it's an expression, a phrase. Anything is better than shaking hands. Well, maybe that's not so true, I think I'd rather shake hands than... I dunno, do a little dance or something." Gray thought about this for a second, decided that that was far too much talking about something so insignificant, and let her mind wander on to better and more interestings things.

"You have a lovely voice... well, in my head, at least... where is it from? You and the voice?"

Black brows rose behind the messy strands of blonde hair that fell over much of Osso's face. He was glad that the younger Mishap was this willing to try something new and she was quite determined to get up the stairs, but the slide cuold create a whole new story.

Osso led the way slowly up to the platform that sat in front of the slide's opening. There he waited for the tiny deer girl so that he could give the one two on 'the slide'.

Nana blinked over wine hued orbs as lightly graying muzzle dipped up and down with her head. She sort of understood what Gray was swaying..perhaps she'd understand it more if it were in her native language, but english would have to do here while she stayed in Gaia.

Listening on, a wolfish grin crossed her maw with the woman's words about the handshakes, but turned to the melodic chuckle at the compliment. Ears swivled forward and if a wolf was able to blush, nana would be right now. "Ahh, thank you. It is french and perhaps you hear a little italian in there as well, I am not sure how you hear me...For me, obviously I am from France, but I moved to Tuscany, italy when I was ah....24? something like that." Her tail swished once.

"You have an interesting feeling...Pardon me. But, I do not no how to say or express it, but I can sense that you are..hmmm..." Nana had a few words that could describe the feeling Gray gave her, but one that she chose to not say was "old"...

Odnako paused on the top rung of the steps, looking around with wide, fascinated eyes. Hopping up onto the platform, she eyed Osso before poking at the lip of the slide with one hoof, just to make sure it wouldn't collapse or bite or who knew what. But no, it didn't react, just sat there looking shiny and yellow.

But she couldn't see where it ended, just the sharp bend it made on its way down. More curious than ever, so much so that she practically forgot Osso was there, Odnako clambered into the slide.

Of course! French! Gray grinned, she knew French, or had known French perhaps... was that the place that looked like a boot? Oh, she'd never been good with that sort of learning, but still, it made her feel a little bit at home. At least they might have some common ground to talk about if all else failed.

"Good food, good spirits... euh, je ne sais que je t'aime pour dejeuner fromage, or something." Gray looked puzzled again, wondering if perhaps she did not remember French as well as she thought she did. Perhaps it was a good thing they changed the subject; the crow-girl would not have wanted to offend Nana any more than she probably already had with such inadequate language.

"It comes of seeing so many lifetimes, I think. Carry a little bit of the past with me, y'know?" Really, she would have been almost pleased if Nana had dubbed her 'old', because it was true, and because people seldom noticed, and because she was not quite as touchy about her age as some women, even some gods.

"You go down really fast and pop out at the bottom!" Osso half explained half said in enthusiasm. Even though Odnako seemed distant or hesitant to interact with him, the bone child still made some effort to be friendly.

Ears perked when the words and accent switched to one's she knew well...or, well, it was french. "Fromage?..Cheese?" the wolf went into a snort laugh that rung merrily in Gray's head while funny little bark/woofs were issued from the canine's muzzle. This woman was hilarious!

Soon the laughter died down to a small chuckle now and then and Nana nodded her crania up and down. "Ahh, yes, I do understand now. I can sense your um...'experience'? It reminds me of when I meet others of my race who are older... It's a nice feeling, no?" that last part wasn't exactly a question, but just a habit of her nationality.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 17, 2006 2:23 pm

"Buhbum?" Odnako questioned him, although what she had really meant was, "Pardon me, but what exactly do you mean?" Language barriers aside, she did seem to be a little warmer to him, since he had proven to be a source of entertainment. Looking back down the mouth of the slide, Odnako shouted something loud and nonsensical, snorting and wiggling her ears sternly at the echo that came back. Something must have stolen her voice and be yelling up at her from the bottom. The deer babe clambered farther down into the slide, until her hooves began to lose purchase on the slippery plastic, and down she went.

Odnako landed at the bottom with a soft 'whump!', eyes still wide with shock or happiness or who knew what. It had been fast! But she hadn't expected it, and the typical reaction to unexpected things was to burst into tears, or at least to sniffle until Gray came running. But she didn't turn on the waterworks just yet, still not sure if maybe it was fun enough that crying wasn't necessary.

Gray couldn't help but giggle herself; this strange conversation was making her feel even more chipper than she usually did. She wasn't quite sure why Nana had laughed--she had thought her French rather good for someone whose language skills were not always the best--but the werewolf's humor was contagious.

"I'm the oldest," she said, not exactly proudly, but there was a certain ring of truth to the words. "Older than Coyote, even. I think that's why he doesn't like me or any of The First, but that's... well, I don't really know what that is, but it's something." Gray thought for a second, considering the rhetorical question, not sure whether it needed an answer or not. "...Sometimes. There are things that were seen that should never have been seen, and things done, and there are always the people to miss. That's one nice thing about being younger. You have less people to miss."

The Crow smiled a little smile, not as happy as before, but not quite sad, just a sort of remembering smile. Maybe her oldness was getting to her; even the gods went senile sometimes.

Osso tilted his head to her babyish word, but a small gasp left him as the reindeer babe zoomed down the slide. Rushing to the railing he grabbed the top and looked over and down. A chuckle and a,"yay!" was issued before he called down to her again,"I'm comin' down!" the blonde boy pushed away from the railing and practically threw himself down the chute.

Yellow plastic whizzed by and laughter echoed around him. Knowing that Odnako most likely hadn't moved, he used his slide "skills" and was able to slow himself and not fly out at the bottom and avoid a collisson.

Nana listend intently. Her emotions seemed to almost mimick those of Gray; when she was speaking in a happy tone, Nana was happy, but when the sad note came into play, Nana soon became saddend. "I can..almost relate. Noir's live for almost 300 years and even though I have only lived for 75 of them, I too have lost one's dear to me." Tall fuzzy ears lowered a little against black skull. Wine hued eyes gazed thoughfully and intently at the ancient and wise feeling woman.

((Sorry about the delay, school/drama has been positively throttling me. x_x))

Odnako peered up at Osso's "yay!", seeing him rbiefly over the railing before he disappeared from view. That little distraction was enough to make her forget about crying, and she actually giggled when the boy came sliding into view.

This was unusual enough for Gray to look up, not sure herself whether to laugh or frown. Was that the first time she had ever heard Odnako laugh? No, surely not... she was sure there must have been another time, but still, it was a welcome sound. She could remember the deer girl's little smirks and snorts at other things--Gray falling flat on her face, usually--but a good honest giggle was much better.

Again, again! cried Odnako, sounding something like, "Aughhmph! Bah!" She scampered excitedly around the base of the slide, but only for a second, before plopping back down and looking nonchalant and haughty. Osso might be fun, but she wasn't going to let him think he was that important.

"That's life, though." Gray put on a brighter smile, not liking to see this new-found friend in sad spirits. "Everything comes full circle, living, dying, fading. Even 300 years is still only that. No lifetime's forever, I hope." Forgetting any composure she might have had, Gray reached out and gave the werewolf a friendly pat on the head, much as she might have pet a common dog. Not that she thought of Nana as a dog, but it was a natural reaction... and Nana's ears looked very soft and fuzzy, and you couldn't blame her for wanting to see if they felt as fuzzy as they looked.

(( No problem ^_^. School's been killin' me too x-x; ))

Osso laughed along with the deer babe as he watched her putter around. A brow rose to her current look, but he thought nothing of it and soon jumped to his feet. "Want to go again?" he asked with a quick point to the yellow structure.

Nana nodded before giving a whimper of pleasure towards being petted. Sure she wasn't a dog, but if you have floofy ears, who wouldn't want them petted? "I suppose you are right," she managed to finally reply after much tail swishing.

((x__________x;; I think that has to be thee most crappy post I've done to date. So sorry, but my brain is like fried right now thanks to three essays. ))

Green had been a very curious child with a passion for exploring, traits that had stayed with her these many years. The young, blonde woman had spent the past few hours wandering amongst the many rooms of the HQ and getting a feel for the place. So far, she found herself immensely impressed with everything she'd seen.

Upon entering the jungle room, Green blinked and Rose, who lounged in a stroller, stopped chewing on the plushie kangaroo's tail for a few moments to examine the room with awe-filled eyes.

Her ears twitched and having grown dissinterested in the plushie for the time being, Rose let it fall to the floor. Green clicked her tongue and picked it up, tucking it into the stroller beside the bunny child.

Rose's ear twitched at the sound of the stranger's voice and the baby twisted in her stroller to face the speaker, struggling against the buckle that held her in place. Her efforts were useless, but that wasn't about to stop her from trying.

"Hello," Green greeted the other woman with a wave of her hand, giggling when her daughter continued to fight her restraints. She manouvered the strolled so that it was facing the other woman and rolled it in her direction.

Finally! Rose let out a thankful sigh and relaxed back into the stroller, pleased that she could see the stranger. Her gaze landed upon the little bat boy who stood at a distance and giggled a hello.

She liked people!

"My name's Green," Green was saying as she stopped the stroller in front of the bench and settled down onto it, beside Kanilea.

___New RP with Kudzu and Elle

Lenore was sitting by the little pond and hard at work drawing, colored pencils lying scattered around her. She frequently broke the tips off the pencils, and with good natured curses sharpened them with a razor feather and continued her work.

Crow, poking around in the background, glanced over her shoulder at her daughter. Lenore had never been too interested in drawing, but it was good to see her get some creativity out that didn't involve firecrackers in buckets of paint. Grinning, she resumed her exploration of the contained jungle, half-hoping for some company to join in on her snooping.

Elle patted the last plant into place...rocking back on her heels to peer at the babe next to her. "There! How does that look?"

Kudzu peered at the plant, now happily settled into the soil. He smiled gently, the jewel upon his forehead bright, and cooed quietly. He was big enough to sit up on his own, now...though he didn't move around much. Usually the boy was content to rest wherever he was placed!

Elle laughed, and brushed off her hands. That was the last one! Kudzu had silently insisted that she plant all of her potted plants in natural soil...the empty pot still rested next to her! Scooping him up, Elle turned to leave just as leaves rustled nearby.

Leaning to the side, moving slowly, the gorgeous young woman peered through the growth. "Ah, don't be surprised, but we are here as well! Is...someone there?"

Kudzu raised his head, nestling back into Elle's arms. He wore the little white bathrobe and baggy brown pants she usually dressed him in, bejeweled feet sticking out from the cuffs. Someone was there, he could hear them!
