Bayonetta looked in awe at the drake and the bird fighting in the sky. Then snapping back into reality, she took his hand and led him out of the area. "That was potent stuff down there." she said to him.

He felt his head swim, "Potent yes. But very straining. And...." he stumbled, "Tiring."

"Well we're gonna need to rest...especially you." she replied and cocked her gun. She looked over them and took aim. Shooting down a few large insects coming their way.

Taking a deep breath he steadied himself, "I won't leave you to deal with all of this. I'll manage. Some how. But we do need to find a sanctuary...." The air infront of them rippled and with a bit of effort Jace forced images of themselves to materialize, an illusion.
sweat beaded on his forehead as he worked to camouflage themselves, making them look like bushes. "Hope...this...works...."

The other creatures soon took chase on the false images. "Come on, you need rest." she replied, dragging him over to a safer location. Hopefully where there was better chance of her comrade finding the source of his power.

With any resistance Jace allowed her to pull him along. Up a head the mouth of a cave yawned wide. Wearily the mind mage looked at it. He could feel the last of his mana deplete from him and was forced to release his illusions and the drake he had summoned from a plane far off from here. "Think it's inhabited?" he half groaned

"I'm hoping it's empty." she replied. Looking outside the beasts flew over, giving up their hunt for the time being.

She settled the male down on a soft patch of ground near the wall. So far the cave was empty. Smelly but empty. "Tell me...How is it that your magic isn't brought on by demons or angels?"

Heaving a sigh of relief as he settled himself down, Jace blinked at her question. "My magic is fed by mana. The very energy the swells and grows around islands. Blue mana to be exact." Looking towards the entrance of the cave his cerulean eyes held a dim glow, "I am a mind mage....."
